Californias Unemployment Rate rose last month for the second month in a row. In august it was 8. 9 that is slightly lower than the 8. 7 in july. This also comes despite california adding 29,000 jobs in august. The discrepancy may be because people who have been out of work for so long that they werent counted anymore started looking for jobs again and showed up in these new numbers. Bay area counties faired better than the rest of the state for the month of august. Marin county had the lowest rate again. It was 5 . Solano was the highest at 8. 2 .
