>> did you see the avalanche coming or did to it completely blind side you? >> i didn't think it was an avalanche at first. i had another friend riding behind me. when i cut back left to go into the trees i thought he was coming above me and threw a rooster in my face and i braced for it and it was like a freight train came and wiped me out. i thought he ran into me with his snowmobile. it wasn't until i popped up and looked behind me that i knew it was an avalanche. >> holy [ bleep ]. >> what does it is feel like? >> it happened so fast and it was so crazy, i had no idea what had actually gone on. somehow my body managed to get all the way through the trees without touching a tree but my snowmobile d fare too well. >> do you think you would have been able to get out of it. >> we ride with air bags and beacons and we've got probes and shovels and we try to be as safe as possible. we look at the reports and they are blinking red and say high avalanche, but at the same time i had no idea it was an avalanche. >> you are okay. but the bad news, what happened to your snowmobile and rig? >> it martialed the hood and ba company right now. >> any idea how far you were taken? >> we guessed the snowmobile went 75 feet and i was thrown about 100 feet. >> i guess you consider yourself kind of lucky. >> very lucky. everybody is, like, you need to pew buy a lottery ticket. it's always tough to see videos of fires. they're so destructive, so dangerous. requires so much effort from firefighters. check out this video from long island, new york, an apartment complex on fire. you can see the flames just coming out of that second story window. the problem is there were people inside that apartment and you can see first responders were on the scene quickly and rescuing these people. they had the ladders up to that second story balcony and it looks as though they are helping down an entire family including a young child and what looks like an older person. several people had to be treated for injuries as a result of this apartment fire including two first responders. the next video coming out of waverly, ohio. this is a different look at a fire. this is surveillance footage from inside the emmitt house, it's an historical building you can tell it's a restaurant/bar type of area. as the video picks u you notice enforcement officers and to just as they get in they get a warning from the waverly fire chief ordering them out of the building and not a moment too soon. you see the second story of this building collapse just moments after these two officers walk out of this building. that's because that second story was on fire. the blaze, the destruction, caused that second floor to give in. and these guys had they not got an order from the fire chief could have been harmed if not killed from this collapse. >> you couldn't even tell that the building itself was on fire. it looked like everyday business. >> you're right, it looked like they were waltzing around the bar. >> people had an emotional attachment to this building and it's very difficult to see it go up in flames. in fact, this fire caused nearly $2 million worth in damage. >> wow. >> investigators are still looking in to the cause of this fire. it all happened back on january 6th. they're now looking to citizens for help to find out if anybody has any information about this blaze. in case you didn't already know why it's such a bad idea to feed wild animals, watch this video. >> go, go, go. >> that elephant is known as jumunu. he's got a reputation for being a little bit more aggressive with the safari tour vehicles that come through. here he's got this vehicle stopped and he starts rifling through the contents with his tusks and with his snout. >> these people are terrified. >> they're absolutely terrified because those tusks, the size of him, he's a huge animal. the vehicle is not going anywhere and the elephant continues to try and rifle through. apparently he smells food. everybody that's in that vehicle is squeezing themselves to the opposite side of the vehicle to stay away from this elephant. >> when you see the trunk and you see the tusks this close up, you realize how huge, how enormous this animal is and how much force it has. >> oh! >> it does give chase. it does come after the truck. this elephant could essentially flip this truck over with its force, with its power. >> there are several videos online of this elephant getting a little bit aggressive with safari vehicles. here's another one from just back in december. >> that sounded like a dinosaur. i feel, like, this is, like, "jurassic park." it's hump day, everybody, and we're celebrating by giving away an ipad mini. >> we'll be giving you the wednesday buzzword and telling you how to enter and win. >> you must be 18 years old and older and a u.s. resident to enter. >> the "rtm" ipad mini giveaway is coming up. we love talking about casey knight on this show, awesome video maker and youtube-er and overall cool guy. he got himself in a bit of a frozen pickle and he had a jeep wrangler and had a bright idea to cross this frozen pond. >> not frozen enough. >> exactly. >> i have no business owning this car. >> he's on the ice now trying to hook up this thing. i don't know what the idea was here to pull it across the ice? and a war vet heads out for some adventure therapy with his dog -- >> and his cat. >> i've never seen that. >> the story behind the hike with his four-legged friends. this is the front of a ferrari dealership in doha qatar. you see a nice red maserati and that looks like a black one and a yellow in the background and the window broke you notice there's a bunch of nice cars and a silver kia kind of out of place in this beautiful car showroom. the guy in the blue jacket is a security guard and that security guard is trying to get that misplaced kia out of the showroom. it looks like the car went crashing through the front of this building. the car backs out and you are thinking, all right, well, there's a better way to do that. but then -- the car takes off. talk about hit-and-run. >> what? >> what? >> it's, like, no one's going to notice there's a car driving down the street with a ton of shattered glass on it. and now they saw the license plate, too, right? because he was in there forever. >> yeah, the security guard was right on him. and it looked like the security guard was helping him back out cleanly but he tries not to smash up the side of that kia. hard to see if any damage was done inside besides just the glass. puppies play in slow-mo. ♪ ♪ it's not unusual to see a man hiking with his dog, right? it is unusual to see a man hiking with his dog and his cat. steven simmons was an iraq war vet. he got out in 2008 and he had difficulty adjusting to civilian life. he had ptsd. he shared his story where we got this video. >> you are used to this really intense lifestyle and it's in your system, and it just doesn't turn off when you get back here. >> he eventually got a service dog. that service dog is named puffy, she accompanies him everywhere and he said having a dog gave him a reason to get up out of bed and have a better life because he wanted to give a better life to his dog and eventually his cat firma who he got last year. he starts hiking with both of his pets and he said do you know what, it really helped him. >> how can you not want to get out of bed to see a catwalking through a snow hiking? >> oh, boy. >> definitely not! >> this octopus is in maui having a relaxing time and the scuba diver picks it up and -- >> that diver, too, he dug him out of his little bed. >> you are not supposed to do that. you are supposed to leave sea life alone, you in their environment and you are there to enjoy and watch. >> the octopus will need a refill. it ran out of ink. >> it eventually stopped. and the octopus wrapped every tentacle around him and said i'll give you some love. we got a new installation from the favorite kinetic sculpture artist, tentacles the outstanding lives of octopuses and squids and cuddle fishes and it opens in april, this is his installation, and he has made, again, some wonderful kinetic art out of found stuff. let me tell you about the octopus that he made, it's got a motor housing, shachandelier pa and test tubes and electronic components food cans, casting resin, motors, wood and aluminum.assume. >> he made it look like it's sea life and it's all moving so gracefully. >> what i'm hoping to accomplish with this exhibit is to illuminate the fictional aspects of these creatures in context with the actual creatures. >> that's cool. >> this is beautiful. it's really spectacular. guess what?
