s today after someone posted a threatening message on a social media sight. Alex savidge with pow everyone is responding. Reporter they are taking the threat seriously. Im told half the students at
Novato High School
have gone home for the day. This began with an online message in which someone threatened violence against the high school in novato. You can see the result. Police are not taking chances. They are stationed outside the school with patrol cars and officers ready to go. There are also extra officers patrolling all 11 schools here in this district today. Late last night a parent alerted police to an online post up on a social media site. Several students this morning told us that site is called yickyak and the post has since been removed. Police say it was specific about the place and time for an attack. A report out said this was meant to be a shooting or shooting was threatened here. Extra officers were called in to stand guard at various schools this morning and a lieutenant described what they are looking for. Any sort of threatening behavior by a student or by a nonstudent. And trying to obviously discourage anything like that. The high number of police cars on the different sites of the schools is one of the ways were going to try to deter that sort of activity. Reporter the district alerted parents to the threat this morning with a message on its web site. There was also a tweet sent out as well. Students tell me when they got to class today there was a sense of uneasiness amongst the staff but and many students tell me that is when they went home for the day. We talked with a senior who was picked up by her father during the middle of the morning. She thinks stepping up

today to remember those killed and injured on city streets. Enough is enough. The time is now. Enough is enough the son of a 78yearold woman killed in a crosswalk in september led the chant calling for the city to speed up efforts to protect pedestrians. Organizers say that in recent weeks six people have lost their lives from traffic accidents. They placed empty shoes on the steps of city hall to represent the total number of lives lost this year. Behind me are 28 empty shoes. Shoes that should be filled today. And more than these shoes there are people who have lost limbs, there are people who can no longer stand because of traffic injuries. The most recent death happened yesterday on lombard and van ness avenue. Police say a 51yearold woman was killed when struck by a golden gate transit bus. In

are investigating a car crash that injured a bicyclist. According to witnesses the car was being driven recklessly. This happened around 10 00 a. M. Near the hayward airport on his paraboulevard and sky west drive. The driver hit a jeep suv, a man on a bike and then crashed her honda accord into a wall. Shes lucky shes alive and shes lucky she didnt kill anybody. She was driving crazy. He got clipped in the back. Feeling lucky . I dont know. It happened this way so im glad i didnt get hurt. The driver of the car responsible was treated for a minor injury. No word yet on if shell be cited by police. They say it doesnt appear alcohol was involved. A

and alameda county. Khanna, 38 years old, a democrat, was backed by tech giants and his supporters viewed him as someone who could make changes in congress that honda couldnt. My opponent wasted more than 5 million for this campaign superpac to try to replace my progressive voice with someone who would do their own bidding. Although we were outspent 21 they were no match for the more than 10,000 people who funded my campaign. hospital after being shot by police. It happened just before 8 00 last night when three officers patrolling the patrero hill neighborhood spotted five men they say were acting suspiciously. When the officers approached four of the men ran away but police say the one man who remained pulled out a gun and refused to drop it. Forcing the officer to shoot. Ordered the suspect to drop his firearm. The suspect actually advanced on the officer and that is when he discharged his firearm multiple times striking that suspect at one time in the upper body. Police say the man who was shot had been involved in a drugrelated case last month and had drugs on him last night. The four other men were detained and questioned by police. Police chief greg surr is scheduled to hold a
