Police in richmond are looking for the person who shot a 14yearold boy near a high school this morning. The student is expected to survive. Tara moriarty joins us live from the school. What clues do police have . We know the witnesses in this case are very young and they are not being very cooperative with police. Classes are still going on here today at Kennedy High School and there is an increased police presence. We know the detectives are looking for an older model green done vertible convertible seen leaving the scene. Officers have not said whether this is the suspects vehicle or witnesses. We just got video in which shows the victim bebeing being taken away from ambulance. The victim was shot near cutting boulevard. It happened before school sharts. Four teens were seen running away from the scene. After the lockdown lifted, dozens of parents came by to pick up their kids. I dont want him to try trying to get an education. Well keep him out until monday. Maybe it will blow over. Get his homework he missed. I can keep him safe. Im not saying they didnt. They did but i can keep him safe. The shooting who did the smooting is still at large, on the loose. We think thats a big, big issue in the community. We want to alert individuals in the community they need to be careful. Reporter we are told that the shooter is not a student here at Kennedy High School. Police tell us that the victim and the suspect perhaps knew eesm other and that the shooting was the result of an argument that began the day before. The 14yearold is at Childrens Hospital in oakland and is expected to recover. Police say their officers served a search warrant at the home of kevin nguyen yesterday. They found child pornography on his computer. Anyone was looked into anyone was looked into jail. Hes a sevenyear veteran of the Mountain View police department. Were getting word that oaklands interim police chief will be taking the job permanently. Sean whent has served as the citys interim chief since shortly after chief Howard Jordan stepped down, just over a year ago. A source tells ktvu whent is the choice to fill the job. Jean quan has scheduled a News Conference at city hall less from an hour less in an hour. Violent crime has gone done since whent has been in charge, quan said. San jose city councilman sam lirardo wants casino m8trix to shut its doors until next 30 days if it fails to pay millions of dollars it owes the city under an agreement with them. The Attorney Generals Office filed a complaint with the Gaming Office which accuses the casino operators hiding money to avoid state and federal taxes. The casino had also agreed to pay 5 of it profits to a charity that helps gambling addicts. But liccard to. Says it appears the Organization Never received the money. The director of the charity says people who get help for problem gambling are being short changed. Were concerned when we saw that the payments were decreasing. In the first three years of the settlement, they are required to pay 500,000 a year. In year four that amount dropped to 120,000, 125,000. Reporter the attorney generals investigation found the casino owners provided misleading information to authorities and are funneling profits to outside enty itys to erntities entities.
