Like you today, i was out at the street where it happened talking to the folks there. What struck me was the people were saying they are scared. They dont want to give their name or go on camera and they are afraid this could lead to retaliation. Im sure you heard the same thing. Reporter question did. All of them said they didnt want to be on camera. They are afraid someone might come out and shoot up again even if they give a little information. Paul chambers, thank you. An inmate who escaped in the south bay still has not been found and authorities are still looking for him. 43yearold janel carter fought off a deputy and slipped away at the Santa Clara County medical center. He is convicted of child molestation and two distinct tattoos. Patrick willis says he is retiring. He said he had no regrets. He said he gave everything he had. Every single day. Mark ibanez is here with a look at what he had to say. The 49ers have been taking a lot of heat, you know. And they deserve a little credit today. Because in the midst of all of the retirement news, they are also facing, you know, free agency. They have a lot of things going so they took the time, rolled his career out in fine style today. And you know, Patrick Willis really is a once in a generation player. Truly an iconic 49er and on the same level of ronnie luck. He just wasnt as fortunate to play upon multiple superbowl winners. Otherwise, they would be enshrining him in the hall of fame right away. Just 30 years old. Seven of his eight years in the nfl, he was selected as a probowl player. Thats the highest honor you can get. Former defensive player of the year. And he said today that he was actually happier retiring than on the day he was drafted among other things. Have a look and a listen. I feel like i have no regrets staying up here today. As i had no regrets yesterday and the day before. As i know i will have no regrets tomorrow. Because one thing i have always lived by, is live by giving everything you have to today. So when you look back tomorrow, you dont feel ashamed because you left anything on the table. And i feel like my sevenanda half years, i feel like there will not have been a day in my career i dont feel like. Like it is. Everything i had. Boy, he certainly did on and off the field. And we talked about what a player like him coming across, that comes on and off the field. The 49ers are extremely busy. Free agency. Wide open today. Here is a look at what the 49ers are trying to do. They have signed wide receiver tori smith from baltimore. He is a guy with a lot of speed. They are reportedly pursuing running back reggie bush to give them speed out of the backfield as well. Not to forget the oakland raiders. They have signed malcolm smith, center rodney hudson, and lee smith is basically a blocking tight end, but they are also looking at Demarco Murray from the cowboys. That would be a huge signing to help their offense and tight end Jermaine Gresham who is also a pass receiving tight end and can give them a big offensive threat. But we mr. Have more on Patrick Willis. But this is a guy who talked the talk, walked the walk. You hear that expression a lot. But i can tell you covering the 49ers, he is definitely the real deal. It is interesting to hear jim tomsula talk about him. Tell us about when you met Patrick Willis. As soon as i interviewed him, i got a feel for him. He is an intimidating physical specimen, but he is very soft spoken. He asked if we could redo the last part of the interview. I said why . It was really good . He said i mispronounced a couple of words and im working on that and i would like to redo it if you dont mind. He was extremely polite. That always stuck with me. He was the guy you can tell both on and off the field was interested in getting things right. Doing things right. Not wanting them to collect the millions of dollars we could. He doesnt feel he is 100 there anymore. And he is not just going to collect a paycheck and that speaks for his integrity and the ethics he lives by. So what do you think he is doing now . He was kind of unclear about that. I dont think he knows. He says he might go fishing one day. I guarantee you, whatever he does, it will be an extremely positive thing and it will have a great impact on the community. I was j about to say. Whatever he does, it will be something good that makes a difference. You wont see him on a police block. Guarantee you that. Now to the weather. Cloudy and foggy today. This gray picture is from our camera in San Francisco looking out at the Golden Gate Bridge. Lets go ahead and bring in chief meteorologist bill martin. There is actually a chance of rain this evening right . There is. It looks like a big storm on the satellite imagery. But as we talked about last week, this system is going to have most of the energy fade to the north. There are shower ins the bay area forecast. And that is good news, but not extensive. Tenth of an inch kind of a thing. Enough to slow the afternoon commute. We are looking at a jet stream further south now. Remember when it was way up here doing this . Pull that out. Now it is more focused at least on Northern California. This system will move through as we head into the next 12 to 24 hours. You can see the atmosphere moistening up as well. The radars are picking this up. Im not seeing any showers falling out of this, but we are seeing an increased moisture level layer right near the surface. So, as we head into the evening hours, lets look for scattered showers and light sprinkles to develop late night. Im talking after midnight. As we head into tomorrow, lets take a look at the computer model. Ly push you into midnight. So you see a few showers up here around ukiah. Lets push forward a little further around 10 00 a. M. You see am showers in San Francisco around oakland. Theres more out there. I ran the model. I push that model through the entire day and i show you what happens to the rest of that front. The system on tracking right now, you can see it coming up to the coast now. It is really sort of a beautiful looking system. It is not what we want it to be. When you start to wind up, see where it started to wind up here and stretch apart. The system is already losing some energy. The main dynamics are right in here, but the system, by the time it gets to us down here, it will share a part. And you will see that in the computer models rendition of what will happen. You see the atmosphere moistening up. That is good news. You see showers that are. Not showers, light moisture maybe. Maybe some drizzle. But i even doubt that. Just a wet atmosphere. You see the clouds out there as you look out to the east and you see the clouds hanging out there. Another shot of mount diablo. You will see mostly cloudy. With a chance of a light sprinkle tonight. You can see a little bit of rain. In this period here, steve will be here and he may pick up some drizzle. You see about 3 00. See how they just sheer apart . It moves through and just sheers apart and goes away. That system is really just not, doesnt appear to have the potential to bring us much of anything. So as we go through time, you see temperatures tomorrow will be on the mild side. We are going to see a lot of 60s and even mostly mid and upper 50s. There might be a low 70s south of the area. Not a lot of cold air support with this system. So, 65 in morgan hill. And 70 tomorrow, 68 tomorrow for a high. 70 perhaps on thursday with increasing temperatures into the bay area weekend.
