Evacuation orders are still in place for dozens of place and may be lifted in an hour or so. One out building was destroyed but authorities with cal fire tell us the winds are beginning to die down and that fire is now 50 percent contained. In solano county, the downed power lines may have sparked a five alarm fire over vacaville. Firefighters also say the wind made it more difficult to contain the fire. The winds were strong. Last night, overnight, and this morning. In fact, parts of the bay area are still under a wind advisory right now. Think about it, between todays massive delays and yesterdays contract debacle, it looks like bart has its own version of the broken bolts problem. Passengers of hayward, there is no service due to a major computer error. A Software Upgrade that began late last night slowly began interfering with barts ability to track its trains. And the system went off truck around midnight. We could a always run the trains but without knowing exactly where the trains are, how far apart where are, its not comfortable to continue with service. Its not like this occurs a lot but it effects a lot of people. Bart trains were at a cross standing many. I have to pay for a cab to get back to oakland right now of the difference is 3. 50 sents to get on bart, or on 35. Service was nonexistent and took until past the traffic commute to be fully restored by going to the old nonupgraded system. I get up extra early because you dont know whats going to happen. The largest union, seiu says they are researching their options now, that board vote ared to accept the contract but without the voted to accept the contract without the six weeks of paid leave. Bart chose to severt the collective bargaining progress. Their decision to effectively reject the contract they previously agreed to is unacceptable. Negotiated in good faith, we work with the district, and now theyre changing their mind and that is not acceptable. Theyre putting a lot of stress on the public and the workforce. The investigation into possible hate crimes at san jose state is continuing to develop tonight. Four students are now accused of committing hate crimes against their back roommate.
