it's such an unusual wind up that he had? >> it was very unconventional, the thing about him, he had 3 different delivery points and 5 different pitches, he 15 pitches he could throw at different angels, different pitchess. he wanted those guys were good hitters in that era as well, the pitcher, he felt like mad some bumgarner is a throw back. he would like to say that i keep my batting average above my earned run average. so he'd have an earned run average in the sub 2s and a batting average above the 2s, that's what's incredible about him. >> thanks for bringing that to us. a legend, back out to civic center blaz sa, in front of city hall. they've set up the big screen. everyone there is going to be watching the game. sit more crowded than the last time we joined you guys? yeah, you may not realize it, but the giants actually have 8 players with them who are not on the world series roster. now, they do this for two reason, one, well, injury might strike, you might need a replacement, and fwo, it's good for these young players to get some experience in this sort of situation, because who know, it could be them playing in these games in years to come. kind of interesting to get a unique perspective from guys in the middle of the action, but not really. >> oh, for the longest time for my entire life, i've watched the playoffs from espn, fox, whatever yoshgs u know -- you know, be able the to watch from the buffalo wild wings, be able to see it from inside the clubhouse and be around the celebrations, the ups and the doubs -- downs, pretty awesome. >> the experience is always good, to know you've been there and go through this. next year, or the following years, you know what to expect. you can possibly make it this far. so you know, it's never a given, so you know, something you've got to work for and super excited for it. >> i saw my mom, it's waeshgsd because it feels like another game. the first time i've been up here, so i know nothing else. the next game. the world series, i don't think it's hit me yet, but it's pretty cool. >>reporter: good news is is, whether they play or not, they all get to drink the champagne if they win. >> pop the cork, one of the rare days, win a game, win a championship. >> that's it from the k in kansas city. >> yeah, we'll know soon enough. first pitch going in an hour. hunter pence, i hate pitching to that guy, but, boy, do i love watching him play. >> yeah. >> hunter pence, like that lady. >> she secretly loves hunter pence. i think there are a lot of people who jet ri love sdsh secretly love hunter pence. >> a lot of folks heading out there tonight. doing a little dance there. >>reporter: well, they've got thriller playing, so everyone is pretty excited. it's a great crowd out here. let's spin you around so you can see the folks that are watching, once they know they're on tv, they get more excited. but lots of really awesome fans out here. we've met so many interesting people. joe, here, i want to talk to you, because you are usually in the -- tell me about being here instead. >> yeah, i -- pitching home runs out of the cove, but today is my day off. >> today is your day off. do you wish you were in the cove right now?
