A little drizzle. We have a chance as we get through the next couple of hours. Fog throughout the Morning Hours but that is about it. A live look into oakland, in addition to the cloud cover, a little light rain and drizzle out there this morning. We have fog. You can see visibility is not bad here. You get into the north bay and we have a bit of a visibility issue around santa rosa at the airport. We will check on that. Around santa rosa, is 57 degrees. 59 in San Francisco. 60 in oakland. Livermore 56. San jose 57 at this hour. These numbers are warmer than where we were yesterday morning and it has to be with the cloud cover. A look from up above, you can see plenty of it to go around. I think we will be partly sunny to mostly cloudy for most of the day. A little clearing as we get closer to sunset at 5 05 this afternoon. A look at the radar. You think see not picking up anything at this moment. A lot of times it falls below the radar. We could have drizzle in a few spots that we are not seeing. Her father has sole custody so police want to know if anyone has seen the little girl. There is a big get out the vote push ongoing. With Hillary Clinton and donald trump with historically low unpopularity, some say they wont vote at all. I sat down with middle School Teachers who say they are trying to get the next generation of voters civically engaged. I view that as probably the most important thing to come out of this process. At this age we are introducing them to what liberal means and conservative and i want them to vote. If i get nothing else out of what they take away from this election, its that they will be civically engaged when they turn 18. Your vote, really, really, really counts a lot. You can consider me as an exhibit a of that truth. How do you make them not cynical adults . You say adults are cynical. Not every adult is cynical and not every child will be taking on that legacy. I was telling them that a lot of people i talk to say i dont like neither one of the candidates. I dont want to vote. I talked to them about that. We have to find at least some good or morals that you agree with that make you want to vote. Reporter look at the push to get people to the polls now and its clear its not a simple lessons. From accusations of Election Fraud from donald trump. Our opponent represents the rigged system and the failed thinking of yesterday. To pleas from Hillary Clinton about getting out the vote. We cannot stop for a minute. No complacency. Its about the ways they are assessing situations. I think that is what teachers are having to come back to with kids as young as presoil. The other thing i tried to limb minute is the vitriol and anger you see on the stage is strategy. Its always been around. You can support a candidate without buying into that. Hillary has no defense for her secret speeches to wall street, international banks, that she hid from the public and which were exposed by wikileaks. Did anybody see the debate last night. To paraphrase my friend, michelle obama, one of us went high and one of us went low. My partner and teacher have chosen to focus on is voting rights. I am trying to take a step back and look at the peoples part. The democratic part of it all and what is it that you will be able to do when you turn 18. How are voters rights being impacted across the country. Who doesnt have the right to vote. I think i used the ensemble as an analogy of being a citizen of the world and the community. Have your opinion hold true even if there are people that disagree. That means teaching them to tackle some of the kinds of accusations made in this campaign. I apologized to my family. I apologized to the american people. Certainly im not proud of it. I made a mistake using a private email. Thats for sure. And if i had to do it over again, i would obviously do it differently. This is the age where you can grabble with justice, what is right and what is wrong. So, its a lot of fun for me as a history teacher. I have an 8th grade, an outspoken conservative student. I like that. She will take on the class. Its important to that it can be civil. Its more discussing the issues that are surrounding the Actual Campaign itself and making sure that the students are thinking about it and asking questions about it and trying to come to the conclusion in their own minds not telling them what to think but making sure the engagement is there and involved. But these teachers also all agree that in these classrooms, they find the one thing that keeps people engaged, something that we arguably dont see enough of, optimism. I am feeling energized by the students. I am feeling their renewed energy, ready knees to change things and take on something that has people have been fighting for a long time. They will be a much more informed hopefully not cynical but aware electorate because of that. Wow. A lot of engagement. That is the important thing. These young kids that are teenagers now will be electing the leaders of tomorrow. Years ago it just seems like im 18, i may vote but kids are talking about the issues, engaged through social media and what not and they do care. Yes. I think having the engage built, information that they get on their own. You talk about Bernie Sanders and the way people feel empowered to get a message out and having it more of that grass roots movement, how they interpret everything they are watching, we interpret it based on the elections we covered in the past and voting in the past. They are almost a blank slate. They have to interpret this in a certain way. How they look forward will be interesting. You talk to students there as well. What was their reaction . We did this episode on voters and the election, the president. We are doing next weeks show on black lives matter and talking to them about that. It was interesting depending on what their parents did with the president ial election kind of determined how engaged necessarily they were, whether or not they had their own opinions. Black lives matter they have strong opinions as youth. Good stuff. Stay there because when we come back, we got new information on a body that was found on sonoma state campus. What police are saying about an 18yearold victim and how he died. W he died thanks for joining us on this sunday morning. Its 7 30. You are thing, wait, 7 30. Is it 8 30. Why is it dark out . Why is it dark out. Questions, we need answers. Lets ask the girl who woke up at 3 00 this morning, decided she wouldnt take advantage of the extra hour of sleep and got up and went to the gym. It was against my will. I had a battle with insomnia. The one day you get an extra hour of sleep. Im still kicking myself. I worked out for you and you too. Good. Done for the day. How about the weather. Lets talk about it. We have clouds. Its dark outside our window here. You take a look you cant see the Golden Gate Bridge. We have fog, clouds, fog, drizzle. If you like scattered showers, still in the forecast for the Morning Hours. Santa rosa picked up. 008. We will remain with cloudy skies for sunday. Partly cloudy into the afternoon. With the cloud cover out there, temperatures this morning a lot milder than yesterday morning. Santa rosa low 40s yesterday morning. Today 57. How about San Francisco, 59. In the south bay san jose, 57 at this hour. I will show you how much warmer we are right now. By 19 degrees in napa. 14 in santa rosa. Oakland 10. Livermore, 12 degrees warmer now than 24 hours ago. Into the afternoon, we are looking at partly cloudy skies. Temperatures will remain on the mild side, low 60s to low 70s for today. We will leave in the chance for a few scattered showers this morning then it pulls out. We are dry. We will be dry for a few days. We will talk about the next possibility of rain coming our way hopefully coming up. Fingers crossed. We are in the final stretch of the preelection season. This tuesday is the big day, election day. Many people cast early ballots. Many are making up their minds about the president s race as well as a host of local races and a number of ballot measures as well. We have allie rasmus live in San Francisco. She is talking to likely voters. What are they saying . Reporter well, sunday, 48 hours to election day. We were out here earlier covering the golden gate Half Marathon. There were a lot of people out here across the bay area and the state to ask if they filled out the ballots. Most havent. They havent filled out mailin ballots or gone to the polls for early voting. Some will wait until tuesday, the last possible minute to do all the research that needs to be done in order to cast an informed make an informed
