The jet reportedly tried to land aborted that effort circled for two more hours and was making a second attempt when it went down short of the runway. New developments from bart on the track closure now in its fourth day. There will not be any service between pittsburgh bay and North Concord stations through at least monday. Bart is trying to figure out what caused a power surge that damaged more than 50 cars between the two stations on wednesday. A bus bridge between has been setup for commuters. Bart says the buses will be available while it is working to fin the problem. Uber is temporarily expanding its service. It matches several passengers headed in the same direction together for a lower price than traveling alone. The expansion includes areas around the pittsburgh line. More information is coming out about a deadly stand off between Sheriff Deputies and a child molestation suspect. The incident began thursday night in byron in the eastern part of the county. Deputies were trying to seven an arrestserve an arrest warrant when he barricaded himself inside the home. He was accused of sexually abusage his 11yearold booster daughter. Deputies fired smoke bombs into the house and he tried to climb out of the window. He aimed the gun at them forcing them to shoot and kill him. His name has not been released. Homicide rates are down in oakland. There have been seven so far this year and typically 19. Crime is down across the board and credits programs like seize fire where officers challenge gang members to change their lives or face arrest. The department retail ated against them for telling the truth about what happened. The Fire Department eventually terminated him. I lost my career now so its a heavy price to pay for telling the truth to osha. Now almost five years later the 2. 3 million reward is vindication. I was in disbelief. He suspects his bosses may have been motivated by concerns over violations of protocol and a possibility of a wrongful death lawsuit. He still wants to be a firefighter in another city. First thing we have over here is theres an Experiment Center here and this is something people can have at their own homes right . Yes. What weve done here one of the Amazing Things about native plants is the context that they have because they share millions of years can history with each other and our native insects and birds. People can engage and learn about plant communication. So what you do is you use this hole puncher to simulate a cater pillar chewing on the plant. It senses that and beefs up its immune response, makes its leaves thicker, produces chemical defenses and queues that bring predators to eat them and shares information to kin nearby to beef up defense also. Its really cool because its shows an eco system in your back yard and build that eco system with plants that are protecting one another or themselves and working in the context of nature and predators around it. Exactly. This is a different idea than most back yard pampeans. Its different in that its shallow and the flow is low. This is a habitat not just a decorative pond. Its a dragon fly habitat. The low flow brings oxygen into the water but doesnt pull the dragon fly out. They live in the water and need to access the air. So we have plants and logs and rocks that allow it to crawl out of the pond and be in the air and also these beaches where its not soaked but always wet and the idea is the water is always evaporating out of there and the rocks are accumulating the minerals so butterflies love that.
