Yes i heard it in the overnight hours hitting my roof top. We had a pretty Good Movement as it continues to move through a little bit behind schedule. Thought it was going to start range at midnight it started at 2 00 a. M. But still within a couple of hours of what we expected giving you a live look where it is a soggy start to the day. This rain is going to last through mid morning. We are going to have a dry afternoon but the headline will become the wind. In fact theres a wind advisory we start later this morning. Heres a look at the system you see pretty quick moving as it moves through the bay area already some areas on the backside of this lets take a look at whats going on around the bay. Steady rain over the central and southern portions the bay. I see light to moderate rainfall in and around the peninsula a few breaks here and across the north bay. We have a little bit more of a moderate rain well call it. Its not necessarily a down pour. Its not going to work for me. Along 580 we have rain moving here. If you have an Early Morning drive be prepared for a slow go because the roadways are slick. The north bay beginning to see breaks on the backside of the system and as we move through the Morning Hours we are going to continue to see this push off to the east and the rain will become more not as steady. Over portions of the sierra still waiting on the snow but it is coming and there are advisories in place for the sierra starting later this morning under way lasting until 10 this evening Winter Weather advisory for the lake tahoe area and warning for the west slope so those folks traveling to or from for today going to need the chains. Snow levels dropping down to 4,000 feet. Heres your future cast model most of the rain already moving off towards the east here we are as we move through the Morning Hours 8 00 scattered showers 9 00 continuing to taper off into the second half of the day mainly dry conditions mostly cloudy 1 00 in areas of the east bay we are mainly dry for the Oakland Raiders game this afternoon. Again i think behind this its going to be about the wind. So when i come back we take a look at the wind advisoryies and temperatures expected for this afternoon. Well take a look at the current temperatures in just a bit. We begin with new information on the deadly paris attacks. There are more arrests and just getting new information about how at least one terrorist got into france. New video of arrests in belgium. Three people have been taken in several others detained. The press has reported two of the seven dead attackers were french and living in brussels. One of the attackers has been identified as a 29year old previously flagged for links to islamic radicalism but had never been arrested. Several family members have been detained for questioning. Another suicide bomber got into france through a southeastern refugee last month. He was not flagged for suspicious and its still not clear if he had a valid passport. A California College student was one of the 123year old killed. She was a junior. Studying design in paris. Gonzalez and 16 other students were studying abroad. She was with some of those students when she was shot at a restaurant. She was a shining star in design. She brought joy, happiness and laughing to everybody she worked with and her students, classmates, she functioned like a bit of a mentor to younger students. She was a deep profound presence in our department and she will be extraordinary profoundly missed. Long beach state plans to hold a vigil for paris victims this afternoon. One of the other victims was a crew member for a rock band performing in paris. Terrorist killed Nick Alexander as they performed. His family says he died doing the job he loved and he was generous funny and loyal. And we are now getting a look at what the scene was like inside that concert. Someone was recording moments before the gun men hoped fire. [ music ] [gunshots] people inside say that gunfire lasted for more than ten minutes witnesses also say those terrorists were calm and didnt say anything during the shooting. About 2,000 people were at the concert. People coming back to the states from paris tell us it has been a very emotional couple of days. Brian was one of the first to return to sfo yesterday and was in paris on a business trip and said he couldnt stop watching t. V. And the images that made that city look like a war zone. Im definitely glad to make it home. Being home is nice. People on that same flight who live in paris also said they cant wait to get back. Its important to feel soldier with their country. Airports in paris will remain open but passengers say security is very tight. Around the world and here at home there are vigils prayers and concern. A show of soldier last night. A few hundred people gathered holding candles some comparing their shock and sadness to what they felt on september 11. These attacks make them more determined than ever to defeat terrorism wherever it strikes. Its killing our children, brothers, sisters and friends theres no stop to it so the message is very clear we are against it and need to do whatever needs to be done to stop it. Those thoughts are being echoed across the bay area. The french consulate in fact is becoming a major center for grief and rememberance. Allie is live there this morning and one point police had to guide traffic around that block of kearny right alley . Right we are on kearny street and its on the 15th floor of their building so theres nothing from the outside to identify it but people know this st. Louis a place to come and certainly was last night. There was a candlelight vigil on the sidewalk you can see the wax on the floor from the candles out hinder people had to put them on the wall all of that has been cleaned up but you can see where its been brought dozens of flowers laid out in front of the entrance here as well as posters and handwritten notes. Yesterday the entrance to this building was covered with everything you see there flowers candles notes of condole crowds of people and pimpliest had to come and police had to come and direct traffic across the bay area and people from all backgrounds and nationals came here for the terrorist attack that killed 129 people in paris friday night. Im so sorry for all innocent people who are being attacked worldwide because of terrorism. Now later today at 3 in the afternoon there will be a memorial and rememberance at civic center plaza. The french general is expected to be there. We dont know how many people they are expecting to attend but based on the people gathered here in front of the consulate it couldnt be surprising if theres a large turn out later today. The nfl says there will be increased security at all of its stadiums including the coliseum at oakland where the raiders host the vikings this afternoon. Homeland Security Officials say there are no credible attacks in the u. S. We are continuing to follow the latest developments in the attacks. In this video you see what appears to be deputies tackling and striking this man over and over again early thursday morning. Deputies say it began with a chase in the east bay that ended in a mission district. The man is suspected of driving a stolen car. The sheriff isnt commenting on any of this this morning except to say it is under investigation. That suspect is recovering at sf general this morning. Its a quick moving system rolling in through the overnight hours beginning to move into the Central Valley. We are on the backside getting breaks behind this. So by 9 or 10 into noon time the rain will be tapering off at least the steady rain. You could see portions of the east and south bay still steady and moderate at times but over portions of the north bay we are beginning to see some breaks. Dryer weather in store for your afternoon but the winds are going to pick up the the National WeatherService Start at 10 00 this morning into 10 00 tonight. Monday just cool but winds begin to die down late tonight into tomorrow.
