and we also have a high wind watch in advance for the next system. all sorts of flood issues for the sacramento valley. also up towards shasta and feather river and carson river and the truckee river, all these are having issues. the good news is the snow level has come down a bit but a winter storm warning out until 10:00 a.m. thursday. maybe not as much towards the santa cruz mountains this time around but more to the north so you get up around you ukiah and clover dale, critical rainfall coming in. 50s on the temps and thursday morning rain. we will see a break on the weekend but i think tuesday and wednesday and even looking beyond i would prepare for a lot of rain. >> all right, steve, christian captain has been making his way to gurnville this morning. vision, for several hours, have you noticed the water starting recede at all? >> you know mike, it's hard to tell. the water level is so high. take a look and you can see the water here. if you look koun there to the left is where we were an hour ago. you can get a street view of it. now we're up higher so you can see this is brake here and you can see it's the only way out of this neighborhood here so people on the other side of the water are effectively isolated until the water reseeds. there's a similar story on other low lying areas around gurnville. -- -- recreed. cede. flood level here is 32 feet. residents tell me they have heard of people in the area leaving before they're cut off. >> in the evening everyone is trying to jump out of here. all night it was busy. >> flooded roads like this aren't the only problem. a large tree came down around 5:00 this morning on river road in forestville. the main access route, that tree dragged down power lines and knocked out power to homes. crews are warning people to call officials if a tree goes down especially at night because it may have energized lines. also advising people if you're out driving to be cautious. you never want to drive through anything like this. as we look over here, i'm going to ask chip to pan to the right. there are folks here, some folks coming down and seeing how close they can get to the water. like this white truck over there, you can see turning around because there's simply no way to get through the water. certainly not safe to drive through that. that's not the only danger of course. keep in mind that if you don't see standing water like this it could be wet roads and a myriad of problems out there. this morning as chip and i were leaving the station heading our way up here, we saw this accident on the mcarthur maze. it looks like a solo car spin out yesterday on our way to saint helena. the roads were slick. >> people up there should keep in mind it's not raining but as you said, there's more coming especially in the gurnville area. i'm glad to hear people were getting out of their homes and leaving because i was there 11 years ago and people weren't doing that. that's when the rescues started happening and people had to go on rafts. >> it's interesting to see how this rain has actually made our draught situation better. it's too early for that. the rainy season isn't over but maybe we'll be better after all of this. we popped up school closures you knead to know about in the north bay. the sonoma county office of education has closed a number of schools today. the harmony school districts are closed today and also the alexander school as well as forestville school and academy in forestville are also closed. right now district leaders are checking on flood prone roads used by school buses. once they have the information they'll decide if schools will be closed for the day. the storm is causing big problem in the sierra. both directions of interstate 80 remain closed this morning. the westbound lanes are shut down because of a mudslide. chp posted the photo on its facebook page. the eastbound lanes are also shut down in the same area. crews are bringing in heavy equipment to clear the #34ud but the westbound lanes aren't expected to open until this afternoon there's no estimates to when they will reopen. we know the name of a woman who was killed on saturday. >> the coroner's office says deborah mc kay was hit by the tree when it crashed to the ground. >> she lived in san ramon and no one else was hurt. we might be seeing a break in the rain but certainly hitting one east bay city very hard. take a look at the rain overwhelming sewers. flood waters were held back at businesses and driving was also difficult. a photo of a rescue happening in gilroy. emergency crews were called to get a woman out of her car on highway 101. the road was closed when water was covering the large section of the highway near christopher ranch. if you plan to fly today, delays and cancellations this morning. we checked with san jose and that airport is experiencing minor delays on denver flights. no delays at oakland. pge says close to 6,000 customers still without
