A gamble, trying to see if we catch a bird taking off on this thursday morning. Right now negative ghost rider. It looks like the pattern is full. We are not getting any 737s. Getting word that we have a bird on its way in. On the lefthand side right there. There you go. Alex savidge with the call right there in for sal castaneda. Isnt it fascinating to watch planes take off and land . It never gets old. It is. Is it a guy thing . I have never done that ever in my life. I was listening to the song you picked by the stones. Nice pick. Me, too. A little bit of everything. Good morning to, you gasia. Welcome to the 9, everyone. Want to get to steve paulson. We are getting hard in the north bay. Some weather. Steve . Yes. Are we getting hit hard . Mike, did you have any rain coming in or not . I did not across the Richmond San Rafael bridge. It was a nice ride in. Its just moving in now. Yeah, most of marin county. Lets take a look. It is torrential rain for some here, especially napa county. So the flash mine, i cant go quick enough to update this. It will move slowly here. South bay may have to wait a while here. There is some incredibly heavy rain. Update on Russian River. I have not updated healdsburg. Guerneville 15. 6. Its expected to reach 34. 7. Thats moderate because flood stage is 32. So we are going to keep an eye on. This its going quick, really quick. I know austin creek is raging. Kelsey creek in lake county is also raising. There is the line thats moving ever so slowly. This is a north bay event so far big time. Now marin county. Looks like its moving in mill valley, san rafael, marin wood probably getting slammed right now. Pretty close to kent field. Not to Tiburon Sausalito yet. There is novato back over towards much of now lakeville highway, 121, 116. Pouring petaluma. It has now moved into napa. Finally they are inching into napa. And then glen ellyn, caliente and sonoma, that is moving slowly south. Napa is in there. Maybe not southern napa. You can see that is torrential rain. St. Helena, glen ellyn to windsor. Thats a cause for concern there. Heavy rain also into mendocino county, lake county. The heaviest is sonoma county, marin county and napa county. Some of the rainfall will be off the charts. There is going to be 4 to 5 inch amounts easily in the next 24 hours. Suffice to say, a long way to go. That line moves into southern marin and gets into parts of the east bay and San Francisco pretty soon. Flash flooding certainly possible. We will have more later. Its on its way. Tomorrow everybody will be in on it. Thank you. And it was nice seeing that radar because we are getting word right now that part of the roof at a kmart has collapsed in the city of santa rosa. Just last night we watched the Democratic Candidates take the stage in miami for a pretty fiesty exchange. Ross polumbo the only bay area political reporter there. He joins us live from miami. Ross, good morning to you. It was an interesting debate last night. Clinton and sanders, they sparred over many issues, but for me maybe one of the big moments was when clinton was asked about whether she would drop out of the race if she was indicted over the email server issue. Refused to answer the question. How did that play in the room . Reporter well, good morning, from sunny miami. A little windy out here this morning. But candidate Bernie Sanders hoping that the winds of change are in the air. You know, he was flying high last night after a big win in michigan. Last night here was really about the debate and really about the issue surrounding immigration policies. In south florida, two out of three voters here are hispanic. The candidates spent most of the final sparring over that primary issue. The moderators got both candidates for the first time to pledge to never deport children or adults unless they have criminal backgrounds. Aside from that, clinton and sandoval went after each other on just about every other nuance surrounding immigration. And i said, welcome those children into this country. Secretary clinton said, send them back. He voted in the house with a hard line republicans for indefinite detention for undocumented immigrants. When you contrast it with the food fight insult fest that happened in detroit last thursday with the republicans where you got, you know, only an understanding of one of the candidates manhood, another candidates hand size, and spray tan, we are the only party that have candidates that take the American People seriously. Reporter as for the republicans, they square up here in miami tonight. The latest polling says donald trump has a 23 point lead over marco rubio. This is the last gop debate before the primary here on tuesday. And if rubio doesnt win his home state, many believe he simply will drop out. Rubio though this morning is staying he believes he is going to win here in florida. Of course, we will have to see that debate tonight could change everything. Guys, as we have seen many times in the past, rubio, is best when his back is against the wall. Alex, back to your question, as to how Hillary Clinton was received in the democratic debate last night, i dont think anything either candidate had to say last night was much of a game changer. They were going at it much more than usual. We saw that trend start in flint. They went after each other last night several times primarily over immigration. But it was very civil and unlike the gop debates have been in the past and what we expect here in miami tonight. I notice after super tuesday and some of her speeches out there across the country, Hillary Clinton wasnt sailing the two words Bernie Sanders. Now, last night she almost attacked him on every response that he had. To me that gives the sense that she knows this is not in the bag yet in regards to getting to the general election, that she needs to beat Bernie Sanders before she can take whoever the republican candidate is . Reporter thats exactly right, mike. You know, michigan was a big upset. The biggest upset that we have seen on the democratic side. Certainly during the election season so far. Remember, Hillary Clinton was 27 points, nearly 30 points ahead in michigan and a poll taken just the day before the primary, and then the stunning upset where she loses. It brings into question whether the polling is really accurate and whether bernie really is the come from behind kid. Thats what he is calling himself. It looks like in several states thats exactly what he is. That is worrying to Hillary Clinton because its hard to know where she stands, what she needs too do. So her strategy last night, as you say correctly, was to more directly go after him. Big night for the democrats last night. Big night for the republicans tonight. Ross polumbo live from miami this morning. Thank you very much. All eyes on florida. The Republican Democratic debates have focused on a wide range of issues. Economy, immigration, foreign affairs. An up close look at the damage from both the outside of the cars as well as the frantic rescue of passengers inside. Incredible photos. Ktvu reporter amber lee talked to some of the first firefighters and sheriffs deputies who got to the scene on monday night. They also showed her cell phone photos of those First Responders looking for victims inside that car that had ended up on its side in the cold waters of the Alameda Creek after it derailed. And now because the train car was on its side, rescuers were literally walking on the walls of that train car. It was very slippery because now we are walking on the walls instead of the floor. So making our way down the train, we were slipping and sliding. There is about 100 people standing outside the train on the edge. There were several people on the ground crying. Bleeding. First responders say they were just doing their job. They are heaping praise on the passengers, the train conductor and the engineer. Coming up, improving the relationship with the community. Is there something that the doctors and nurses who helped you during the treatment process that you learned from them that you apply today as a doctor . I think just to have fun still, you know. A lot of them are some of the best, most kindest, caring, giving individuals that i ever have met, and were definitely part of the reason i wanted to get back into the field as a care provider and, you know, just seeing the enthusiasm they bring to work every day still is very inspiring. And you are raising money for cancer research. You are going to be shaving your head this coming saturday for the st. Baldricks shavea thon. How are you feeling about that . Apprehensive . Yeah, a little bit. Its been about 20 years since i have been bald. How did you feel when it wasnt your chase, when one being treated for leukemia . I thought about that lately since commit committing to do the fundraiser. Its hard for anyone to lose hair, but especially for a kid because its so much a part of your identity. I think that is really how it affected me, you know. Great story. You have a wonderful story. And i think a lot of us at home here in the desk, cancer has affected our lives in a way.
