Did voters really look at the sheriffs series of missteps professional and personal in making this decision. Ross career as the sheriff in San Francisco has been star struck. It as if it was a curse upon him. Every place that he tried to go, almost every turn he tried to make turned out to be a disaster. Vicki hen see was the benefit of what basically was a political Suicide Mission engaged by rock mac reany. You were at the Party Last Night for hen see. Do you think she did the right thing by not giving a clear statement on the policy, the story there . I think the sanctuary policy is so misunderstood and misapplied. It really is going to take someone with great courage to stand up and say when theres a situation that deserves not to be reported, it wont be reported. And i will stand behind that. When theres a situation in which it should be reported, it should be reported and ill stand behind that. But you really have to have the courage of your conviction to provide what is basically an option by way of the interpretive process. Thats what leadership would in fact do. Mayor lee did win his re election campaign. My question is do you think his biggest challenge is to sustain this thriving economy that is going on in San Francisco or is it something completely different . Ill just throw out homeless as one example. No. He has to sustain the economy. The only shot that he has coming up with 30,000 places for people to live, the only shot that he has to deal with the issue involving homelessness is exactly a production in the economy that matches what is now and what will hopefully continue to be in the future if not better. And when he has those tools, then he will be in a position to look the progressives in the eye and force them to follow his leadership, including mr. Paskin. Mr. Mayor, with the warriors wanting to build an arena down there near at t park, now that the board of supervisors make up has changed, do you see that the progressives will be in lock with mayor lees plan to build down there or do you think there will be a roadblock . I think that the warriors will move on the basis of whatever is the right thing to do for the city and for the warriors. I do not think mayor lees advocacy will determine that decision. I think it will be based upon just as it was yesterday the facts that were presented before that group of people making the decision. They made an intelligent decision. I think it will continuously be that way. Including when the matter goes to court much its going to court for sure. Theres no question. The people of the opposition have the resources and the brain power. And theyre going to take it to court. And so the warriors responsibility is to be to make sure at after stage and every at every stage and every step they make their that they are court proof. And believe me that will be important. The consequences were deadly for a teenager who took what he thought was a xanax at a party in Santa Cruz County. That is rights say days later another man died after taking a counterfeit pill. Cases like this have been popping up and causing Health Officials and now Law Enforcement to take notice. The Santa Cruz County Sheriffs Department posted a picture of what the counterfeit version of xanax may look like. The real drug is used to treat panic disorders and anxiety brought on my depression. The Sheriffs Office says a 19 yearold man and a 29yearold man both died last week after taking what they thought was xanax. The teen who was from watsonville ingested it at a party. Another man was found dead in his home. The Sheriffs Department is not saying where they got the drugs. San francisco is also investigating three recent overdoses including one death related to phony street xanax that may have been laced with opiate medication. Last month 7 students were sick inned after taking xanax at schools. Investigators say that incident does not appear to be connected to the tainted street drugs. A baby boy less than a year old is among the three people on the plane who survived the crash. Caltrans planned to youd underwater explosives to take down the old peer on saturday. But experts say they became concerned that the plastic around the explosive charges wasnt Strong Enough to keep from ripping as the chargers were shoved into position. The implosion is being put off until saturday, november 14th, when 600 chargers will take down the peer in just six seconds. The timing is important to avoid killing sea creatures. There has been a big twist in the case of an Illinois Police officer whose death touched offer a massive manhunt. The officer staged his own suicide and that he had been embezzling money from the police department. The lieutenant was found shot to death on september 1st in an area outside of chicago. Now, prior to his death, he had radioed in saying that he was chasing three suspicious men. But this morning investigators said that he staged the scene to make it look like he was shot in a struggle. He had been embezzling money from a Youth Program for years. The investigation found glennwitz had been stealing and laundering money from the explorer post. This had been occurring over the past 7 years. Authorities say he used that money for personal travel, gym member ships, mortgage payments and adult websites. Investigator says there are two other people under investigation in connection with the case but did not specify their involvement. Very upsetting considering the resources spent on the search.
