The other two fires burning yesterday afternoon had the firefighter Matthew Chavez visiting his grandparents when he jumped into action. It was a good thing but he was there to help. They are accused of breaking into 17 cars at a hotel last friday and stealing one of those cars. A few hours later in livermore they broke into 36 more cars. This is the clouds in place with temperatures very similar to yesterday. The onshore breeze is still out there with 54 in San Francisco. San jose is in the low 60s. Here is the cloud and box cover moving down along San Francisco coming into monterey. This is going to hold back for the coast and it will be mostly sunny elsewhere with similar temperatures to yesterday and maybe slightly warmer. Here is a view of the onshore breeze with fairfield reporting 14. Because of that onshore breeze beginning to dwindle, 96 in fairfield today and 96 in antioch. 84 in san mateo and at the coast 60s are expected for you here with temperatures continuing to climb. It is a trend that will last for several days a look at that coming up. How are the highways, sal . They are in little more crowded. It seems like the peak of the commute as we start with the bay bridge looking normal. Still just a touch lighter than it normally would be getting into San Francisco. We are also looking at the commute on 880. This commute looks okay. Northbound and southbound traffic is looking pretty good. As we look at the map i do not see a lot of red, which is good or any incidents if you commute early in the morning you may have company on the roads. A new government study shows a huge spike in Early Morning traffic in the bay area. Ktvus dan savage is right on top of treasure island. Reporter we are at the secret spot. It is a beautiful spot on treasure island. It gives you a good perspective here on the traffic flowing. I have heard you talk about the traffic being light with the lights interning on until about 7 00 this morning. Overall traffic is getting busier and busier earlier and earlier in the morning with the Transportation Commission showing the number of drivers who cross the bridge at 4 00 a. M. Going up 36 just over the past couple of years. Down on the san mateo bridge it is a similar story. They found traffic increasing 31 20 4 00 a. M. Hour and the dunbar bridge also. Commuters i spoke with say they are not surprised by this data. 5 00 it is getting backed up. Before used to be out here at 5 30 and it was clear and now at 5 00 it is backed up already. It is mostly every day now. It is difficult to pinpoint why so many more people are heading out the door earlier with a lot of researchers pointing to the growing economy here in this area as certainly one factor. On the bay bridge the toll to cross jumps from four dollars up to six dollars starting at 5 00 in the morning. He may have some folks trying to get in before the toll jumps up. According to this research while there seems to be a lot more earlymorning commuters between the hours of 4 00 a. M. And 5 00 a year during the later hours like right now the numbers in terms of commuters are staying basically flat for all intents and purposes. Thank you. T
