Back to the desk. Moving to new developments regarding the massive Detwiler Fire burning in mar pose accounty. The fire grew by about 3500 acres to now more than 74,000 acres burned. That is an area of nearly 116 square miles. To put it in perspective, about two and a half times the size of San Francisco. Containment went up from 10 to 15 but more homes were damaged. 118 structures have been destroyed, including 58 homes. The time is now 7 03. Developing news from greece. A big earthquake has killed two people, more than 500 were hit. The quake hit the greek islands and the turkish coast. It was centered 7 miles northeast of the greek island. Buildings collapsed and the main port was damaged. The two people who died were in a bar that partially collapsed. They were identified as tourists from turkey and sweden. Hundreds of tourists fled hotel rooms. They slept outside after the quake, fearing aftershocks or the building might fall down. Nearby in turkey, the quake flooded lower floors of seaside restaurants and several after shocks were felt overnight. East bay authorities looking to track down a group of teens that attacked a man near a bart station. Christien kafton is live in richmond. The assault happening here in the area right in front of the Richmond Transit Center at 11 20 yesterday morning. The mayor apparently here saw a group of about a dozen teens by his account punching and kicking the man and the mayor called 911. It happened outside of the bart station. Investigators tell ktvu this morning that they have a report of a group of teens punching and kicking a man. Officers responded to the scene. By the time they arrived, the teens had left. Bart officers searched for the teens. The victim was taken to an area hospital with unknown injuries. The case has been handed over to the Richmond PoliceDepartment Since it happened outside of the bart station. The mayor was on the scene and saw the teens attacking the mac and called 911. The mayor is quoted as saying he was dissatisfied with the response to the assault saying the 911 dispatchers connected him with bart police when he should have connected to Richmond Police. And the mayor says bart employees in the area did nothing to intervene or try to report the assault. This is a busy plaza with people coming and going. This is a busy commute area. We are looking to talk with mayor tom butt later this morning. There is a Police Officer in the area right now. We are trying to get in contact with the mayors toss see what he has to say about the incident. He apparently took photos of the scene after ward, showing the blood on the ground following the assault. Troubling for the mayor and troubling for people commuting in the area. Lopez sanchez found the gun that was reported stolen. The time is 7 07. In the east bay, Police Searching for a teenager wanted in connection with a murder in pittsburgh. He shot a man wednesday at the baskinrobbins on century boulevard. The unidentified victim from Bethel Island was shot several times and later pronounced dead at the hospital. Simpson plans to live in florida following his release. He will remain there at Lovelock Correctional Center in nevada until the release plan is developed and then approved.
