Federal investigators are shifting through the wreckage to figure out what happened before that speeding train smashed through a concrete and steel bumper and then slammed into a train station. A 34yearold woman who was waiting at the platform was killed by falling debris. She had just dropped off her 1 yearold daughter at day care. More than a hundred people were also hurt in that crash. The ntsb will try to figure out how fast the train was going at the time of the crash. Were collecting everything on the operations, on the human performance, the track, the survivability of this train. Well be looking at all of that. Now, as part of the investigation, the ntsb will examine whether a system known as positive train control should have been installed and maybe might have prevented the crash. Now, one of the companies called prop expects to start operating daily Ferry Service between berkeley, emeryville, redwood city in San Francisco at the beginning of next year. Another company tide line marine group says they will offer Ferry Service between berkeley and San Francisco beginning the end of october. There is no Ferry Service between berkeley and San Francisco. Governor jerry brown signed off on 10 million in funding to get californias earthquake Warning System up and running.
