player aaron hernandez killing himself this morning. these are pictures of the maximum security facility where he was being held. it's an hour outside of boston. the corrections officers said he hung himself with the bed sheet he attached to the window and his single-person cell. he was not aware of any suicide note said a spokesman of the prison. hernandez was everyone ising a life sentence of the killing of a semi pro football player. last week, he was acquitted of double murder charges in another case. the new england patriots who will visit the white house today as super bowl champs are part of the garage but everyone inside the house evacuated safely and there were no injuries. investigators said the fire may have started in the suv in that driveway. and people marched through the streets of fredno to remember the four people killed in a series of shootings that date back to last thursday. mourners prayed and sang songs of home and love last night. they say now is the time for the community to grieve together and cold front each other. more information is coming out about the suspect's 39-year-old corey mohammad. he told investigators after police started looking for him for a deadly shooting of a motel 6 security guard last week, he decided to, quote, kill as many people as he could. he began by gunning down a pg&e worker sitting in a company truck and he shot and killed two other men outside of a catholic charities building. they were both clients. one was carrying a bag of groceries given to him by the charity when killed. >> he was not going to go to jail for shooting a security guard. he was going to kill as many people as he could and that is what he set out to do. >> it's hard for me to find the words to express my deep profound sense of tragedy and sorrow of this event. fresno stands united against violence and compassion for the victims. and for the one senseless act of violence, every day there are thousands of acts of compassion and good will in this community. >> investigators believe the shoots were motivated by racism -- shootings were motivated by race. all victims were white. mohammad yelled god is great in arabic several times. he was looking for protection they use the gun in the shooting and believe someone may have picked it up passing by. this is a rap video posted by mohammad on youtube. in the song and social media posts, he expressed hatred for white people and encouraged, quote, black warriors to mount up against white devils. in the next hour, we will hear from witnesses and one man who said he was shot at. and time is 6:06. the san jose city council passed new policies for protectingd rights of renters. one policy said that landlords have to give a valid reason before evicting the tenant. some council members wanted landlords to list 12 specific reasons before they could evict a tenant. some argued that many people were forced out of their homes by greedy landlords. >> can you give me a reason? there is this morning, walnut creek city council is publicly supporting i campaign to create a new school district. last night, the council members unanimously backed a resolutions to create the unified school district. it would take five schools away from the much larger mount diablo unified school district. many say it ignored the needs and concerned of families for years. critics are worrying this controversial proposal could be rooted in race. and elitism. and bringing a live report in all of this in the next hour. and three drifters were sentenced to prison for two high-profile murders in shooting a man at random in cleveland and broadcasting it live on facebook. police say a drive-through restaurant worker at a mcdonald's in the eerie pennsylvania area recognized stevens as he was ordering food yesterday. and that employee stalled stevens, holding on to the french frys while other workers called the police. stevens then shot and killed himself as the police moved in. and we don't believe he had policees. our concern was that he was somewhere the last few days and whether he was under a bridge somewhere. >> and they're trying to figure out a motive. they say he had big gambling debts. in the meantime, facebook ceo said that he is sad about this tragic and blizzard crime. well, we're reminded of threshold week by a tragedy in cleveland and our hearts go out to the family and friends of robert godwin senior. we have a lot of work and we'll do what we can to prevent tragedies like this from happening. >> mark zuckerburg said that yesterday during the developer's conference in san jose. and the city of oakland passed a resolutions encouraging businesses to create so-called sanctuary workplaces. it was at last night's city council meeting, which was attended by dozens of immigrant workers and supporters. although not binding, the resolutions sent a message to hotels in particular, which are known to higher undocumented workers. >> and we want to urge local employers to not voluntarily share personal information with i.c.e. >> and the workplace resolutions was passed by a unanimous vote. oakland is a sanctuary city, meaning it has vowed to not cooperate with federal immigration officials looking to deport people in the country illegally. federal immigration agents support a 23-year-old man back to mexico and what could be the first deportation of someone who is part of the program to shield people coming to the u.s. as young children. the national immigration law center filed a lawsuit against the federal government yesterday in san diego to
