For your friday into saturday looks like its going to be the warmest day and we just havent been able to kick the winds. For our north bay hills and our east bay hills. Most of us experiencing that wind yesterday and for today were going to continue at least for the next few hours. Although i have seen it improve in many spots. If youre going to tahoe lake wind advisory here goes until 6 00 this afternoon and then the weekend looks good with the winds calming down there and the winds calming down here as well. Fairfield had a calming winds just some and these are northerly winds. When you have freeways like i80 that travel east to west, west to east youve got that wind right up against the side of your car. So especially for the high profile vehicles you may experience some difficulty driving out this morning. Novato reporting 15 miles an hour. Even the bridges. The san mateo. Its an overturned truck here in morgan hill. You can see that traffic is going to be affected on the ramp but the freeway traffic seems to be okay. This truck is on its side. Its a nursery truck and you can see the traffic in this area theyre not letting anybody to get by. This is going to be here for awhile and if youre using bailey onto 101morgan hill you might want to reconsider and go to a different onramp. It looks like the driver got out however, there is a diesel spill that theyre trying to contain and thats whats going to take a little while here. 6 03 lets move along and take a look at some of these other commutes. Im going to put it up on 280 northbound in san jose. As we look at the east bay commute not a huge commute right now as you drive on 580. 680 it looks pretty good and were looking at oakland. So the freeway systems look pretty good. At the bay bridge toll [ applause ] theres a backup of about 50 minutes before you make it on to the bridge. Lets go back to the desk. An investigation is under way in san jose. A fire destroyed a home early this morning. People are now looking for a new place to stay as investigators look for the cause. We have ktvus rob malcolm joining us live now from that scene. Rob, good morning to you. Reporter good morning alex and pam. You can see some of the debris that was taken out of this home. Some of that obviously suffering from water damage. You see from the home here where the fire scorched the front of this house. This actually looks like a Single Family home but its actually a duplex. There is a family behind this which is also a total loss as well. Fire crews responded here at about 12 22 this morning. To 919 south 11th street. Once they were on scene they found both units fully engulfed. Crews were able to knock this fire down in just under a half an hour. As a precaution houses nearby were also evacuated as crews tried to stop those flames from spreading and the fire crews did remain on scene for some time just to put out some of the hot spots and the cause as we told you earlier is still under investigation but we did talk to a nation resident who lives directly next door. Heres what he told us. Its a mess. Like how bad is it from back there. Its terrible. My fence is down back in the back back there and this is burnt up and i havent checked my roof. My shutters are messed up. All of this side here and it blew my window out. Still have to get to the top of my roof and see whats going on there. Back here life. Robert harrison just told me he returned home from a trip to vacaville. He says hes lucky he does have insurance. The bad news is three people that live in this home have been displaced and fire investigators are still trying to determine the cause. Were live in san jose well send it back to you. An attorney for president Trumps National security advisor michael flynn. Flynn was a top advisor to the campaign during the election and was later fired after failing to fully reveal information about his contacts with the russian envoy. The circle widens for the people who dont know if theyre the target of an investigation, any time you hear someone say ill testify for immunity it means potentially somebody can be ratted out. While trump is reacting to the possible plea. Quote, mike flynn should ask for immunity and this is a big loss. One of the interstates in atlanta is closed. That fire started yesterday afternoon. This is on interstate 85 again in atlanta, georgia. Investigators are still looking into the cause of the fire but they say the flames were fuelled by plastic construction piping that was being stored underneath the overpass. No one was hurt but take a look at that video. Thousands of people stuck in their cars for hours with no way to get around the traffic. You can see theyre diverting it over that grassy island. Theres no way to tell when the highway can be safely reopened to traffic. Interstate 85 carries about 285,000 cars a day. And its going to be shut down indefinitely. I cant imagine what thats like in a big commute area. 6 10 naming and shaming. See how cities like San Francisco are responding. Also an entire generation may have other ideas about the bay area.
