We have an earlier crash near port chicago highway and we have a very long backup that stretches through most of pittsburgh and bay point. It happened around 10 40 at a Public Storage complex. The man was seen running from the burning rv, which was already engulfed in flames. Firefighters stopped there and they said a gas can was nearby. The unidentified man is in Critical Condition with second to thirddegree burns on 80 of his body. Arson investigators are looking for an exact cause. Our time is 6 02. The big story this morning the shocking news about 49ers legend dwight clark. Thats right. The former wide receiver announced he is suffering from als also known as lou gehrigs disease. Last night clark posted what he called some unfortunate news he says he does suspect theres a link between his football career and his diagnosis. You can ultimately enroll through some of the ash. Left over from the flares investigators put out to close this investigation during the overnight hours. Now this is what the scene looked like just a few hours ago. Concord police are not revealing many details about exactly what happened here, but they are calling this a traffic investigation for now after a woman was found on the side of tree boulevard around 10 45 last night. Witnesses say Emergency Responders performed cpr on the woman, but police are not telling us what her condition was. We dont know what happened to her. We dont know right now if she survived what happened to her. All we know now Concord Police and traffic investigation municipalities called out on the woman, from oak grove to the drive. It was closed for several hours overnight. You can see this busy thoroughfare is back open again this morning. Concord police told us this morning theyre expecting to put out a little more details, a little more information about this investigation later on so we will keep you posted as we get that info. Now eventually a chp officer is seen coming up behind the group, but unclear if that officer was able to stop any of those riders. A woman called 911 reporting her husband had been making threats. A short time later police found the man and daughter in a car suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Supervisor jeff sheehy wants a sevenmember director and staff. The examiner says they would approve permits for commercial cannabis businesses and when to suspend those permits. Sheehy wants the commission in place before july 1 to be worked into San Francisco<\/a>s next budget. Well san diego is now using a mouth swab device to catch drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It is called the drago 5000 using saliva samples to determine whether someone was using marijuana, cocaine, opioids, or other drugs. San diego started using this during busy saint pattys day celebrations, now the 7th California City<\/a> after los angeles to use it. This is an added tool we have here. Just like our preliminary alcohol sensory device, this is the same thing, and voluntary. It does not make the decision for the officer to arrest or not arrest. It is a tool to assist us. Now right now it is only able to detect certain drugs. You cant determine how much of a drug is in someones system. Blood tests are still needed to determine if someone was driving while on drugs. Well San Francisco<\/a> Public Library<\/a> workers may soon be trained to stop heroin overdoses. According to a report by the chronicle, the idea came after a homeless person was found dead in a bathroom at the Civic Center Library<\/a> last month. The goal is to train Library Workers<\/a> on how to administer a drug to reverse the effects of heroin overdose, usually administered by a nasal spray or an injection in the leg. If this idea is approved only those who volunteer to be a part of the program will be trained. Sesame street is getting ready to welcome a new puppet, julia. She has autism. Dwight clark announced he has als, lou gehrigs disease. Alallison burns alex savidge youre in our newsroom. Doctors recently gave him the devastating diagnosis. Als is a terminal condition that affects the muscles needed to move, eat, and breathe. In a lengthy statement clark wrote, while im still trying to wrap my head around the challenge, i will face with this disease over the coming years, the only thing i know, im going to fight like hell and live every day to the fullest. I have been asked if playing football caused this. I dont know for sure, but i certainly suspect it did. And i encourage the nfl pa and the Owners Association<\/a> to continue to Work Together<\/a> in their efforts to make the game of football safer especially as it relates to head trauma. Clark says he first started to experience symptoms about 18 months ago, the weakness in his left hand, which he initially thought was just related to his playing career. Then he started to feel weakness in his right hand. His lower back and his legs. And the disease has progressed from there. Clark says at this point he isnt able to run or play golf and he can only walk short distances at a time. Of course the legendary wide receiver was known for his 1981 championship game sending the 49ers to the super bowl. Before last years super bowl here in Santa Clara Clark<\/a> joined us on mornings on 2 the 9 00 and he talked about the most famous play in 49ers history. When i look back, i just saw people. But he also plans to conduct this fight against als in private. Now according to the als association, there are about 6,000 people who were diagnosed with the disease every year. Jerry brown wants the federal government to give california more money to repair storm damage statewide. The National Focus<\/a> on storm damage has been at the oroville dam. But 50 of californias 58 counties, they were affected by flooding, mud slides, and power outages. This is the fourth time the governor has asked for those emergency funds. Earlier asks have been granted. Later today San Jose Police<\/a> are expected to hold a News Conference<\/a> about the shooting of a naked suspect. That incident started 1 30 friday afternoon in campbell. A short time later it ended on the Stevens Creek<\/a> boulevard at lawrence expressway. Tuesday they first got a call about the naked man acting erratically and chasing him. When officers arrived, the suspect tried to drive off in a pickup truck and hit a parked car and a control vehicle. Police then chased him for several miles until eventually he pulled over into a Shopping Center<\/a> parking lot. Then police said he ignored their commands to surrender and appointed two weapons at him. Three officers opened fire and critically injured the man. None of the officers were hurt. Marine corps has a new longer and more detailed policy on social media. Thats after the marine corps was hit hard by a scandal about members who shared nude photos of female service members. More airlines are cutting their service to cuba. Frontier airlines and Silver Airways<\/a> are the latest to drop flights. They would stop their operations in cuba effective next month. They began regulating flights to cuba just six months ago. In the meantime a Record Number<\/a> of people are traveling by air this spring according to the Industry Trade<\/a> group. We are talking about highway 4 and it looks like westbound highway 4 is going to be slow still with an earlier problem at 242. Thats been gone for an hour and the slow traffic will remain in that area. 880 is slowing down now. 238 as you head down to union city. In the south bay, it is beginning to fill in.
