Protestors clashed with Riot Police Outside the Convention Center where President Trump held a campaignstyle rally. They were throwing rocks and teargas at the police. The police fired pepper spray and flash bang canisters. The police say all that heavy smoke you see there it came from pepper spray. They used the pepper spray pellets to break up the crowd and stop the assaults on police officers. At least four people were arrested. Some of the protestors had to splash water in their eyes because of that stinging pepper spray smoke. Witnesses say the protest for the most part was peaceful until the end of the president s speech. When some of the demonstrators tried to break through Police Barricades outside of the convention hall. President trump will speak in reno. He spoke for 90 minutes in phoenix and he repeated promises he made during the campaign and took a swipe at two arizona senators and lashed out at the media for the criticism he received from his response to charlottesville. Truly dishonest people in the media and the fake media. They dont report the facts. Just like they dont want to report that i spoke out forcefully against hatred, bigotry and violence. Neither of arizona senators jeff flake or john mccain attended the rally. Organizers of a right wing rally planned for saturday at San Franciscos chrissy field say they expect to get their park permit by friday. The Group Patriot Prayer says the National Park service likes the security plans for the event. The group promised to put up fences and will have what it calls a large physical separation between rally goers and counter protestors and that anyone that goes to the rally will be searched. San francisco officials are encouraging the park service not to about give a permit for saturdays rally. Theres another rally scheduled for berkeley on sunday, and city leaders are urging people to stay away for their own safety. Police said there will be no cars allowed on the perimeter at Civic Center Park starting saturday morning. New this morning, a lake county sheriffs deputy died after he crashed his patrol car while returning from responding to a police call in the city of link port. Police called the Sheriffs Office to help break up a fight on bobs lane. His patrol car hit a tree less than a half mile away. Paramedics were called but the deputy, he did not survive. Doctors believe he may have had a medical emergency while driving. An investigation into the cause of his death continues. The contra costa Sheriffs Office is investigating a homicide in the south eastern part of the county. Sheriffs deputies were called to the town of byron near brentwood. Investigators are not releasing any information about the case accident not even the exact address or anything about the victim or victims. According to officials, police say both the victim and the suspect are students and they know each other. Police are not identifying the suspect. They havent said which residential hall the alleged attack occurred in. A south bay babysitter and her boyfriend are in jail accused of sexually assaulting a 4yearold girl. Torres was babysitting a little girl. The girls mother went to police when she became suspicious that her daughter had been Sexual Assaulted. Police believe the babysitters boyfriend garcia was involved as well. Evidence shows they committed the crime against the child and thats why they were both arrested. We havent identified any other victims, but because of the services she was offering, we want to make sure there are no other victims. Alameda county may allow more medical marijuana de dispensaries the city council has given approval to expand that decision prohibits dispensaries in residential and industrial areas. Fire crews in the east bay spent most of the night keeping an eye out for hot spots after containing a 200 acre fire in dublin. That fire started shortly after 2 00 yesterday and burned across camp part, the u. S. Army facility near an Evacuation Order went out to dozens of homes on edge of camp parks. A new state audit show s s the university of california is not following its own rules on layoffs. The uc system is supposed to justify any action to replace University Employees with less expensive contract workers. A new review shows auditors looked at 31 contracts. Wellsfargo says it has refunded 5 million to customers who were victims of the banks fake account scandal. Wellsfargo said they hired a third party to conduct a detailed study of current and former customers who were due refunds and the review covered customer accounts from the year 2009 through 2016. Uss military statement says the commander was removed due to a loss of confidence in his ability to command. It was the 4th time this year that an american warship was involved in an accident in the pacific rim. Members of congress are demanding answers. A group called the brown baras is trying to take down the statute and says the campaign to remove it from city hall started before the events in charlottesville. The group says Christopher Columbus represents the general side of native americans and thats the reason the statute shouldnt be on city property. This statute represents the symbol at least to my community of white supremacy. Theres [indiscernible] scattered through the city. If you talk about one statute, you probably need to look at everything else. The statute of columbus was donated by the Italian Community back in 1958. For years though, native american groups have called for removing the statute of columbus in the rotunda of the State Capitol as well. In San Francisco, theres another controversy of a statute near city hall there. Ktvu tara moriarty, reports theres a push to take it down. Reporter that is near San Francisco city hall. You may not even have noticed the Pioneer Monument before, but its gaining notoriety in the wake of the removal of dozens of controversial statutes nationwide. Mainly confederate memorials. Four brothers from San Francisco are in jail accused of stealing expensive mountain bikes from the lake tahoe area valued at 125,000. Now, these are the mug shots. They were tweeted out by Truckee Police department of the galardo brothers. Each are facing felony charges of grand theft, criminal conspiracy, and possession of stolen property. Investigators say the brothers stole bikes not only in truckee, but also in tahoe city and squall valley and carson city, nevada. Surveillance video helped detectives identify the brothers car and Police Arrested them in truckee saturday. Police searched their home in San Francisco and recruited 75,000 worth of stolen bikes. There had been no major problems there. Now, traffic is okay on interstate 880 in oakland. There will been no major issues. When you get to the bay plaza westbound 80 at 5th, theres a crash before 5th and theres a car blocking one of the lanes so traffic on the actual span may start getting busy, and then that will affect traffic here at the toll plaza.
