Police telling ktvu that this was, in fact, a Birthday Party on this street here. You can see the tree line street in vallejo. There was a crowd of teenagers on the street when the gunfire brock out. Police initially told ktvu that eight people were injured by gunfire and another injured as the crowd tried to run away. Police say two suspects in ski masks were in a car waiting for that 14yearold girls Birthday Party to end. Then, both suspects opened fire. The family members of the girl didnt want to appear on camera but told fox 2 they have no idea why anyone would have targeted anyone in this crowd. [ indiscernible ] waiting for the kids. I dont know why anyone would do that. The teenagers. Reporter police have told fox 2 they dont believe this was a random shooting. The gunmen were targeting someone in that crowd. Investigators at this point telling ktvu that theyre looking for any witnesses to this case to come forward, share what they know, of course, and theyre looking for any video or photos that might have been taken during that shooting or the aftermath. New information about the stolen ashes of a man taken from a familys rental car last week in San Francisco. The family, once again, has nose ashes. They were returned. The ashes were of Joe Wilkinson and mary wilkinson, the widow who sent us the photo last night of the silver tooth containing her husbands ashes. Wilkinson and her daughter travelled from North Carolina to scatter the ashes of her husband joe among the California Redwood trees. The rental car was robbed at a Fishermans Wharf garage. The thieves stole her suitcase and the silver tube with his ashes. Police called saying a man anonymously returned the ashes and now show plans to take them back to North Carolina. Police say there is a person of interest but they havent given us any other details as yet. And Berkeley Police are looking to make more arrests in connection with saturdays violent clash between demonstrators supporting and opposing President Trump now, police are reviewing social media pictures and videos as well as their own surveillance few the age. That leaves at least 20 people were arrested over the weekend, some are facing charges including assault with a deadly weapon. A spokesman went over a list of confiscated weapons. And firefighters in menlo park useed the jaws of life to rescue him from a burning car. The mans car caught fire after he crashed into a tree about 4 30 yesterday morning. The firefighters quickly put out the fire but had to cut through the roof of the car and then peel back the dashboard to get him out. The man is in his 20s and suffered severe burns on the leg along with severe, several fractures. Hes being treated now at stanford hospital. And a United Airlines flight had to make an Emergency Landing at sfo after takeoff. An airport spokeswoman said that flight 1721 was on the way to kona airport on the big island of hawaii when it experienced a mechanical problem yesterday morning. This morning, a manhunt goes on in cleveland, ohio, and nearby states after police say a man committed murder in live and live streamed it on facebook. The police say the 37yearold Steve Stephens shot and killed 74yearold Robert Goodwin in a video that stephens called easter day slaughter. This morning, the police are warning people in states near ohio to be on the alert for stephens, who is considered armed and dangerous. And Steve Stephens, wont to communicate to him that we know who he is and that he will eventually be caught. Now, the separate video posted on facebook, stephens claimed he killed more than a dozen other people. The police say so far they havent connected him to any other murders. Two detroit officers were shot last night, responding to a report of a breakin attempt of a home. According to investigators, the Police Arrived at the home before midnight when a 19year old fired shots through the door hitting one Police Officer in the face and the other in the arm. Police detained a woman and her two sons who life at that home. The 19yearold may have thought the police were burglars. The officer shot in the face is still in critical condition. The other officer has been treated and released. And the very emotional legal battle over the death of, the Death Penalty has moved to the state of arkansas. The governor of that state and the attorney general will meet this morning and they will discuss the latest legal developments involving that states plans for state executions that were scheduled for later this month. Talk about a federal judges rules over the weekend that blocked the scheduled execution of eight death row inmates. And the countys office worked around the clock the last few weeks and the last couple of days as the judges have made decisions and as court cases have been tied. And on saturday, the federal judge stopped the planned executions and ruling there is a strong possibility that death row inmates could successfully chall
