The car was wanted in connection with several armed robberies through the bay area. When they tried to stop the car, the driver rammed into the police car and injured two detectives. The officers fired at the suspects car and killed a woman inside the car. The car sped off and crashed moments later at the schools main campus in heyward. A man and a woman was arrested, but another man got away and neighbors one neighbor says her son witnessed the chase. We saw two vehicles collide and two guys get out and run towards harris creek down there, so he said they ran towards the creek. He said the cops tackled one guy and taken him down. A swat team looked for that third suspect for hours, but the search was called off overnight. The two injured fremont detectives were treated at a hospital and released. Heyward police in the alameda District Attorneys Office are investigating the incident. 5 02. Happening today, state lawmakers will hold a hearing about preventing deadly fires like the ghost ship fire in oakland where 36 people were killed last december. The warehouse was used as an artist colony, but it didnt have permits to be a livework space. The committee will look for way to reform state and local laws. It may include changing Building Inspections and fire code enforcement. Reportedly theres hundreds or thousands of warehouses like the ghost ship around the state. In the meantime, oakland fire chief teresa reed filed papers to retire. Just three months after the ghost ship fire. Shes the first African American fire chief. Officials originally thought this was a case of suicide, but now this is a homicide investigation. Bailey was last seen in december of 2014 at the home in penn grove she shared with her husband even as they were going through a divorce. Ktvu debra talked with baileys estranged husband who says hes angry with the county deputies who searched that home again. They didnt do [bleep] for a month after she disappeared. Kerry bailey is upset with is a gnome that deputies who searched his garage and home for hours. Just trashed, beds upside down. Detectives looking for evidence connected to his wifes killing. I did not do this. I didnt kill her, no. I filed for divorce, i couldnt stand living with her. Bailey claims annie, his wife of 17 years was in a downward spiral of depression and marijuana use. Sheriffs investigators in december 2014 found no signs of fowl play. Baileys car, keys and purse were left at her house. After searchs in pen grove, the missings persons case until a car accident led to the discovery of skeletal remains. Dental records confirmed it was bailey, and others showed it was no suicide it was a fluke it was found. It was an embankment. There was a car crash and observant people found her body. That discovery brought it back to where it started, her house. Trying to get a resolution and figure out her last days of her life and who may know who may not wanted her alive. A man accused of two separate attacks on two women in pal laal owe woman in palo alto. Investigators released that know know after a woman reported she was grabbed at the palo alto transient station. Torres could be expelled. He told the panel he was an honor role student who is failing. The quarterback is accused of holding a student down while a student touched him inappropriately. Last night the staff at the Marin Mammal Center tried to catch it. One was killed when police are searching for a second suspect after officerinvolved shooting in heyward. The vehicle did not stop and police says the driver drove into the Detectives Police vehicles. And they opened fire. One passenger, a woman inside the vehicle was struck by the gunfire, but the driver kept going before crashing near campus drive and oaks drive. One of the suspects in the vehicle took off running and police were looking for him last night. Two other people were arrested. The woman who whose shot by police was treated at the scene and taken to the hospital where she died from her injuries and the two detectives were treated and released. Because this happened in heyward although it involved Fremont Police officers, heyward Police Officers were involved in the search for the suspect, the man who got away from that vehicle.
