One person was killed in a shooting south of downtown. It happened late last night near the under section of willow and sherman street. There is an active investigation. You can see janine de la vega out there. What can you tell us, janine . The coroner arrived here in the last 30 minutes to examine the body that is laying here on the sidewalk. You know, the crime scene detective is here. Police received a report at around 10 00 that a person was shot on Willow Street near sherman. They found a man with one gunshot unit laying on the sidewalk. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The gunman ran away, some witnesses say but no detailed description. Suspect thats been released. Neighbors were in the area that may have witnessed the shooting, some being interviewed by the police department. They are looking into the possibility that this may have been an attempted robbery. This area is known for prostitution and gang. We dont know if there is a connection. Police are still in the early stages of their investigation. At this point, we dont know the victims identity or if there is any tie to this neighborhood. Janine de la vega from san jose. We are following developing news. Yet another shooting targeting Police Officers, this time in san diego and one officer was killed and another wounded. A Police Officer was kid, a second wounded late last night. This happen add few miles south of downtown san diego, just west of where interstate 15 and interstate 5 meet. Police have not yet said exactly what touched off the violence. We do understand this happened during a traffic stop in that area. We do know that one person was taken into custody in connection with the shooting and then, right now, there is an active search still going on right now for another person who may have been involved in that shooting. San diegos police chief spoke out a short time ago. She called this a heartbreaking loss for the department. We are still, again, waiting to get more information on this developing story. But one Police Officer in san diego was killed in the shooting, a second wounded. At last check, we understand that that officer was still going through surgery. Thank you, alex savidge.
