Organizers are urging drivers who are participating to create fake rider accounts and request uber rides and then not show up for the ride to further restrict the number of rides uber can provide this weekend. At this point, theres no word on how the strike or any other work actions could affect his honor pricing for the those continuing to use uber. That strike is set to get underway at 5 00. The major road between northern and Southern California<\/a> shut down. Heads up if you are heading down there. Interstate 5 closed this morning after heavy rain triggered some dangerous mud slides, and ktvus alex savidge here with a look at now. I just cant believe this video. The damage down there in that area is just incredible. The amount of rainfall they had in a short period of time. The mess that it left behind for so many drivers. The major cleanup this morning in Southern California<\/a> in the area of the grapevine. That is 40 mimes of i5 remain closeed still as crews try to clear all of this mud and debris. There you see the scene overnight. If the heavy equipment was brought out and crews were busy. This is video that shows the overnight cleanup. And this pummeled yesterday afternoon. And this caused hail, flash flooding in rivers of water, mud, and rocks rushing across i5. They had to shut the freeway down right away. It shut itself down really. The mud flow trapped hundreds of people in nary cars and homes. The mud in their cars and homes. The mud up to five feet deep in some areas. All those drivers were left stranded. Some of them climbed on top of the roofs of their cars and waited to be rescued. Several cars are stuck there. We are trying to dig some out. With shovels. Hope in i we can get a bulldoze tore help clear away the mud. Limitation of motions say this was one of the worst storms they had ever seen. Amazingly enough, there were no reports of any serious injuries from these mud slides. Crews again are using heavy equipment this morning trying to clear i5. But even after they get the roadway clear, there is another issue, and that is that geologists will still need to come in here to inspect the size of the highways. The hillsides on the sides of i 5 just to make sure that they are stable before it is safe. Before they feel like its safe to reopen i5. No timetable. Its just heartbreaking to see, and then it will dry. The mud will dry. Right. And get even worse. They have to move it right away like we saw the equipment out overnight. Lets go back to the desk. All right, sal, thank you u. Back to union city and that big sinkhole problem. Traffic problems wont be cleared up until at least tuesday. The sinkhole started as a small depression on the road. This was on noontime wednesday. Asphalt collapsed down on to an underground waterline breaking that water line and causing water to flow into that sinkhole which made it bigger and bigger. It is now about 25 feet by 25 feet, and its ten feet deep. The crews have to dig up the ground. They have got to replace that broken water line. Still no word yet on what caused the sinkhole in the first place. Time a man is facing felony charges after turning himself in to san jose police. Twentynineyearold pedro cortez surrendered Late Wednesday<\/a> night after police had found the white ford pickup truck involved in that vision. The victim was a man in his 60s. He was killed at about 7 00 in the morning as he was walking along north white road. They have identified him but they are not telling us his name until they notify his family. The car fire on the golden gate bridge. It turned the commute out ephesian train francisco into a major mess. The toyota burst into flames about 5 30 forcing all the lanes on the bridge to shut down. Fire crews got there, they quickly put out the flames. Northbound lanes remained closed. All the people got out safely. The bridge district reported no damage to the bridge. All of those lanes reopened by f 15 00 last night. For the first time, engineers are examining how well the sea wall would expand the major earthquake taking into consideration the impending sea level rides and climate change. The sea wall is the four miles of waterfront that stretches from fischermans wharf to at t park. The port is spending 425,000 for the study. It is expected to be complete by early next year. There hasnt been any rattling in the valley this morning after days of shaking. Nearly 06 small earthquakes have been recorded in the past four days. The largest hit yesterday morning and 3. 4. Right near the country club along the fault zone. Experts dont know what causes a storm. They do know what is more likely to have in places that have complex lex fault patterns. An embarrassing situation at a target store in san jose where graphic xrated audio was blared over the speakers, and the store had trouble stopping it.
