Drove into work, i was on the freeway, on the opposite side of the fire and i could feel the heat in my car. I can only imagine ha it is what it is like right there. Reporter you can definitely feel it from where i am standing right now. Right now, it is really intense right now in terms of the heat. Lots of smoke and ashes coming from the building. It is under construction. We are working on gathering more details in terms of how this fire started. And you can see, a huge heavy response here. Several different agencies still making their way over here. We have heard that there are possible evacuations as well. Already damage to the building under construction here. You can see at least three or four cars caught on fire. We will bring you the latest on the story as it it comes in. It is not impacting traffic but you can see it on the freeway. I will go to sal right now and gather more information. But sal, if this fire continues on through the morning, we can see a lot of onlookers on the freeway i can imagine. Thats right. And you can see it from 508 near the Macarthur Bart station. And the emeryville camera. You can see the fire from a long way away. The big glow is actually visible. As you can see. So there are the freeways. And there is the fire. So right now, the traffic is very light. On the freeway system. But i think pam said that either on the air or off the air, that as she drove by, that she could feel the heat from the fire, so this is obviously going to be a traffic issue, as the traffic does pick up in this area. And we will keep you posted on it. So this is a look at some of the video that was sent in to us, or that we found on the internet, here, you can see flames from people, and this is a look at what it is like to drive past it. It is obvious that you can see it from the freeway here. Huge flammation. And it is going to be a distraction. If you have to drive through this area, please give yourself plenty of time, as you can see. This is a construction project, as brian mentioned. The building that is on the Emery Oakland border and obviously, a lot of mutual aid. We will stay on top of the fire and let you know more about it as it develops. Were watching it. This may have impact on the morning commute. From here, lets go to steve in the weather center. Sal . Will this have any impact with bart . Pardon me . Any impact with bart . Not that we know. You know what, not that we know of now but that is a good question and i will call them up as soon as we get off the air here. Thank you. Lets get to the weather. A pretty good breeze out there for some. I can see that coming through the caldecott very easily. Low clouds. Not as much as we had yesterday. Go ahead, sal, if you want to say something. All right. Pretty cool out there. Low clouds out there. Upper 50s. And inland temperatures cooling off. And cooler air aloft. That is taking away a lot of the support for that. Gusts from 25 to 35. West southwest. Novato is in there, 48 degrees. Low 50s. A cool morning for sure, for this time of the year. The systems will continue to work to the pacific northwest. And one by the weekend will be pretty strong to get us well below average through the day. 60s and a lot of 70s. Back to dave and pam. Thank you, steve. Also new this morning, a South African judge has sentenced former olympic Gold MedalistOscar Pistorius to six years in prison, for the murder of his girlfriend reeva steenkamp. It is looking like no charges will be filed against Hillary Clinton for mishandling classified information while secretary of state. The announcement by the fbi is no doubt a big relief from the president ial nominee but coming at a political price. Doug luzader has more from the Justice Department which will make a final determination in the case. Here is how it works. The recommendation to not charge Hillary Clinton comes from fbi director jim comey, at fbi headquarters in washington. It crosses pennsylvania avenue. To the department of justice here. It is almost unthinkable that the attorney general, loretta lynch, would override the fbis recommendation. Still, Hillary Clinton does not emerge from this unscathed. Hillary clinton walking down the steps of air force one. Finally getting a day on the campaign trail with president obama in north carolina. I am with her. But the timing here, nothing short of remark able. Just hours earlier, fbi director james comey emerged with this longawaited determination. Our judgment is that no reasonable prosecutor would bring such a case. That all but brings to an end the criminal case against clinton. But at the same time, comey was unsparing in his criticism in clintons home email system directly contradicting her explanation. I did not email any classified material to anyone on my email. In fact, the fbi found classified emails in her system. Some of which were marked as such, and some that were top secret. Any reasonable person in secretary clintons position, or in the position of those with whom she was corresponding about those matters, should have known that an unclassified system was no place for that conversation. Still, he says her intent was not to mishandle information. Clinton did not mention the issue while campaigning but her campaign did release this statement. As the secretary has long said, it was a mistake to use her personal email and she would not do it again. We are glad this matter is now resolved. Presumptive nominee donald trump meantime suggested the fix was in for clinton supported by the obama administration. She is laughing at the stupidity of our system. She is laughing and so is her husband bill, laughing at what is going on. In the meantime, we are hearing from capitol hill, that the fbi director could be called to testify to explain exactly how he reached this determination that Hillary Clinton should not be charged. In washington, doug luzader, fox news. 4 07. Donald trump at a Campaign Rally last night. Praised former iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein for the way he handled terrorists. Saddam hussein was a bad guy, right . He was a bad guy. Really bad guy. But you know what he did well . He killed terrorists. He did that so good, they didnt read him the rights, they didnt talk, they were terrorists, it was over. Hillary Clintons Campaign released a statement after trumps remarks saying trumps quote cavalier compliments for brutal dictators demonstrate how dangerous he would be as commander in chief. Customers of a San Francisco gay bar that has been around for 50 years are now rallying to save it. The stud is facing a nearly 6,000 rent increase. Amber lee spoke to supporters who said it is much more than a bar. You instantly became one of the family. Always. At the same time, he says he wants to leave the business with new owners. Who will carrie on the legacy of the stud. A performance and Gathering Place for the Lgbt Community in the city. I have been deeply in love with this space, and this bar, and everything it represents, in terms of a cultural heart of San Francisco, that i see disappearing on a daily basis. Patron and performer sigourney tells me he plans to meet with 15 Community Members including others in the night life industry later this week, to try to form a coop to buy the business. It is important. I think especially to lgbt people, and it was invisible for so long and now that we are allowed to have one, it is important to note the things that still exist. Supporters hope that working with the city to designate the stud as a historic landmark and business will keep the doors open. We will form a united front and see what we can do. Amber lee, ktvu, fox 2 news. 4 10. The top story is the huge fire at emeryville and oakland border. You can see it from the freeway. Parked cars next to the building caught fire. We are looking at the scene of the fire. This is san pablo avenue. Near adeline. Interstate 580. You saw the fire coming in. Yes. And the fire has gone from three alarms. Fire departments from oakland and almeda county at the scene as we speak. New video from our crew on the ground. Right after the fire started. It is just incredible. This is what we know so far. This fire started at about 2 30 in the morning. We understand that it is a building that was under construction at the time. However, brian flores at the scene, and he is telling us, this is very close now to some other buildings. And you can see trees nearby. We saw cars catch fire. While brian was talking to us about the fire, i drove by on the opposite side of the freeway, and you could feel the heat. This is a huge fire. You can seat electrical, the power, the phone lines, the flames could be seen from 580, 880 and highway 24. Now, there are vehicles on fire next to that burning building. During our live report, brian was on the air, one. The tires on a vehicle exploded. Good morning, again, this fire started roughly around 2 45 this morning. Whoa, loud bang coming from this area as well. Brian was talking and we watched it live, as that tire exploded. Sal is watching for traffic. How traffic is affected. Bart possibly. So what do you know, sal . So far, bart is not affected by the fire. Hey, sal, how close is it to the bart station there . It is not really close. Okay. It is a little bit closer to the freeway, or you can see it from the freeway. And you can feel the heat from the freeway. But so far, no major effects on bart, or the freeways, even though you can see it. You can also see that the freeway traffic is moving through. It is light so far. Now, if they do get this fire under control, before the main part of the commute, we might be in better shape there. But obviously, it can be seen here, on the Oakland Emeryville border. You can see it from 24, from 580, and from 80, in fact, you can see it from the hills, and it is very visible in the area. All right, lets move along to the toll plaza of the bay bridge. Thank you. A little cool this morning, a few upper 40s here. And that is pretty impressive for this time of the year. If it feels cool to you, it is, as the unseasonably cool system continues to carve itself out of the west, fog filling in and as i suspected yesterday, a little bit more of a northwest breeze and the water temperatures go down. And they did. Bodega bay went down and Half Moon Bay and monterey went down. Warmer yesterday. We get the low cloud deck here. West 25. Gusts to 35. Still in place. 22, west southwest 15. West at napa. Everything is in place here. 51, 60, but novato says 48 degrees, and some of the temperatures here, getting pretty cool for some. Upper 50s, low 60s for some. But 52 in lafayette. And 54 in danville. So there are some cool readings. And some 40s in the santa cruz mountains. And 57 ukia and sacramento. And a little more fog to the south and to the north this morning. A weak system but a much stronger one is poised to move out of the gulf of alaska and move down towards northern california. The end result for us will probably be windy and cooler pattern after maybe some drizzle. Any rain would be confined i would think to ukia north, until late friday or saturday. We are in a pattern with a breeze. Front and center here. So 67, still a few inland areas. Really, really tough to get below about 83 or 84. But for most, concord, livermore, santa rosa and san jose, this is an extremely cool pattern. A bumpup on friday, but a windy cool pattern for saturday. Steve, thank you. It is 4 18 right now.
