Weather thats coming in to the bay area. We have been talk about it all week. We are bracing for big storm this is weekend. One the areas expected to be hardest hit is the Santa Cruz Mountains which could see a close to a foot of rain and of course that was hit by the fires. Could see flooding mudslides. This is video from the storm earlier this week. People are definitely worried about the mudslide this weekend after the wildfires there. Santa cruz county giving away free sandbags today to help you get prepared. The sandbags available at the fire stations throughout the county. Be prepared for that. Water manage s taking steps to make sure reservoirs dont over flow. Sky fox 2 was overhead in morgan hill yesterday afternoon. Take a look. Its more than 100 capacity. So the Santa Clara ValleyWater District has started sending water downstream team to make way for all the rain. And ski resorts getting ready for a lot of new fresh snow this weekend. The mountain and the eastern sierra received several feet of snow over the last storm. More snow, more heavy rain expected at mammoth and in yosemite starting tomorrow. The tahoe ski resort said the conditions right now are just right for skiing. If you plan to drive there today there are no chain controls on highway 50 or interstate 80. Im seeing all of the pictures it the tweets and the from all of the ski resorts up there. It looks beautiful. It could be dangerous up there. Flooding could be a huge issue. Let me turn this down highway. The fire in an Apartment Building in oakland. Three alarm fire on harrison. We have a map of it for you in the area here. This is just northeast of interstate 580 in a residential neighborhood. This area has homes and Apartment Buildings next to each other. Its a one way street. Harrison heading down toward the freeway at that point. Again this is kind of a busy area in oakland here. And there is a three alarm fire. It does sound from Radio Communications as if they do have a little more progress made in fighting this fire. Again, several Fire Companies here in oakland in a neighborhood just northeast of 580. Harrison street, 3800 block. Looks like the smoke and flame we had here on this picture early is no longer visible. They are doing a search of the building. I want to go to a different part. We had a problem on the pass with a car that went off the cliff. Its not as bad as it sounds. There is a car down a bank. The back up just got started earlier. I want to mention that the drive will be affected this morning by some black ice reported and in solano there have been no major problems. You can see traffic is light. Westbound as you drive to the toll plaza. This morning in san jose northbound 280 is off to a good start. You say see or feel black ice. 4 36 lets go back to the desk. The police are trying to track down whoever gunned down three men last night at a restaurant in san joset. Happened on the eastside of the city. Just before eight. Its been nearly nine hours since the shooting but investigators are still at the scene . Reporter you know they left about 45 minutes ago. The scene is clear. All thats left here is someone inside cleaning up the mess that was inside there. The shooting happened earlier police were collecting evidence and looking to see if there was any Surveillance Video that captured anything. We do see a camera that is located inside that restaurant. At 7 45 three men were eating inside on story road. A man came in and opened fire. All three were struck by bullets. It would have them died. The other was rush to the the hospital. He is in stable condition. One man believes one of the People Killed was his nephew. They said there is two bodies inside. They killed two guys. Reporter do you feel . I dont know what to stay. Im in shock. Reporter they wont say if the victim was targeted but the area where it happened is known as a gang hot spot. They are looking to see if thats a possibility. Police havent released suspect descriptions them want anyone with information who may have witnessed this shooting or may have heard something to give them a call and you can go head and do that. In east oakland a little girl who will turn two next month is expected to redover after she was shot yesterday while sitting in a car with her older sister and mother. The mother had just pulled to the side of the road at 61st and outlook avenue near interstate 580. She was looking for her gps when she heard gun fire. Paul chambers reports the older sister helped stop the bleeding while the mother raced to the hospital. Reporter this is a picture of the little girl shot in her car seat. Her family asks we not share her name but she is a survivor after the car she was in came under fire. I can let you know she is stable. We just ask for prayer. We are holding up fine. We are pursuing this investigation to identity who is responsible. Reporter the mother said off camera that she, her 7year old daughter and the 1yearold victim were in already car near 61st and outlook avenue thursday afternoon around noon when she heard gun fire and her 1yearold started crying. What happened is driving down the street. Cars shooting at each other and shot the baby. Reporter as the mother looked in to the backseat grabbed her daughter and leaned her forward to console her and saw the blood from the childs back. The 7yearold grabbed her. Her mother told her to apply pressure as they sped to the hospital. Relooking in to see what led township the shooting. What was the motive for the shooting. Was there any type of exchange of gun fire. Reporter paul chambers. There is no specific suspect information but police do say that they are looking for a black jeep. Homicide detectives investigating a deadly attack yesterday afternoon in the tender loin. About 3 40 yesterday Afternoon Police rush to the scene of an assault near larkin. A 11yearold was badly beaten. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. Also in the same area a fire ripped through two units of a single unit hotel last night. The fire was reported at about 7 15 at the elm hotel on eddie street. Fire crews were able to contain the fire to a unit on the 4th floor and one on the 5th floor. Nobody was hurt. The red cross is now helping two people who were displaced by the fire. An investigation into the cause continues. When the Transit Service starts in play ride wills be free. State senator Nancy Skinner is working on legislation to help prevent another warehouse fire like the one that killed 36 in oakland. Last months fire destroyed that former milk factory turned in to an artist collective. Skinner said that she wants to preserve work spaces for artists but make sure they are safe. She is considered rule that would give inspectors greater access to properties and liens for building owners to fix problems.
