Workers getting things ready. This happened around 9 00 last night. Vallejo Police Say Two of their officers saw a man open the door and point an assault type weapon. It looked like it jammed and didnt go off. The man took off running through a nearby residential neighborhood and the two officers chased him. They say the man continued to appear as though he was about to handle his weapon. They felt threatened and they shot the man near magazine and sheridan streets, about three or four blocks away from this starbucks. The man was taken to the hospital with lifethreatening injuries. As far as we know he is still there. Police arent saying any more details about exactly what happened. They put out a Statement Last night saying that they and city officials will have a press conference later this morning to talk about what happened and theyll be joined by sis soon police. Jury selection due to start this morning in the trial of the man accused of kidnapping and killing 15yearold sierra lamar. She vanished on her way to school in 2012. Her body has never been found. The defendant, Antolin Garcia torres, pleaded not guilty to that crime, as well as three other attempted kidnappings from 2009. Hundreds of potential jury members will fill out a questionnaire and lawyers will review the answers and question them next month. 12 jury members and up to six alternates will be selected. This trial could last up to six months. Police are looking for the driver who hit and killed a woman walking in a crosswalk. She was in her 70s and hit around 7 00 saturday night at rollins and adrian roads and died at the hospital. Police say at least five cars were in the area at the time of the crash, including this one caught on a surveillance video. They believe it is a white full sized chevy pickup with a camper shell. Take a close look. Second photo shows what looks like a white Toyota Pickup with a king cab. These are potential witness vehicles. Police would like to talk to those drivers. A navy service man has been arrested in connection with a crash that killed four people and injured nine others in san diego. Police say he lost control of his pickup truck saturday afternoon and fell 60 feet off a bridge. The truck landed on a crowd of people who had gathered at a park for a motorcycle celebration. The chp says alcohol was involved. It was like something out of the movies, and landed on this tent where this couple we had just seen, just enjoying the band, and killed them, landed on top of them. The driver popped out of the window in the back. Everybody came together as one and lifted the vehicle off of them and flipped it over. The driver was seriously injured in the crash as well. He now faces dui and vehicular manslaughter charges. Organizers of this years Treasure Island Music Festival are facing backlash on social media. A few performances were delayed or canceled this weekend because of the weather. Some of the fans went on social media demanding a refund. The officers will specifically watch out for people who may be considering jumping off the bridge. The bridge already has 17 officers who patrol the bridge. Investigators got a call to go to a house along highway 116 saturday night. They found three people who had been shot. One man died at the scene. Another man and a woman were taken to the hospital. Train service has been restored at the hoboken new jersey terminal, almost three weeks after a commuter train crashed into the station. One woman was killed and more than 100 hurt. Authorities say extra precautions are being taken. Trains will now have to enter the terminal at lower speeds. New york senator Charles Schumer is calling for a law that would put the brakes on speeding trucks nationwide. He wants the department of transportation to finalize a proposal that would mandate vehicles over 26,000 pounds to have a Device Installed that would prevent them from ever moving above a certain speed. He says setting a speed limit could save nearly 500 lives every year. Many drivers agree. I think it would help.
