Still looks good. At about 8 00, we have a backup that forms from the coliseum. Northbound 280 at 85, they cleared an accident there. There was a brush fire right here. Thats gone. 101 near that area. So that has been taken care of. But traffic is going to be busy in the region and 880 southbound is backing up this morning from 238 all the way down into fremont. By then, the firefighters were knocking on our door and we just ran out. Police say a man there is unaccounted for. Neighbors are telling us an elderly man lived in the home alone. The accident happened before 5 00 yesterday afternoon and an suv was stopped on the trucks when a southbound train coming from san mateo crashed into it. It sent the vehicle who feet across the intersection, totaling it. The female driver had to be extricate and was taken to the hospital and died. Cam trains said their thoughts are with the family of the woman who died. They want people to remember, the top speeds of the trains are at 79 miles an hour. It could take five to six miles for them to stop. As far as this repair work goes, these crews have been working overnight and this could take several more hours. A commuter train in oxnard hit a truck on the tracks and has detailed. A Los Angeles Area station is reporting at least one person is dead and there may be more fatalities inside the train cars that ended up on their sides. You can see one there on the screen. Santa clara county residents will get a chance to say how they feel about a controversial system that will let sheriffs deputies track people through their cell phones in a few hours. A 9 00 a. M. According to the examiner, state Assembly Members are calling for an investigation of working conditions at the Catholic Schools run by the archdiocese. The archbishop refused their request to remove what they call discriminatory clauses regarding homosexuality, extramarital sex and other acts opposed by the catholic church. The lawmakers say the clauses may violate workers civil rights. A young pitcher on the petaluma baseball team, the one that went to the Little League world series three years ago, hes recovering from a frightening atv accident. Bradley smith is now 15 years old. He says hes concerned that there were several different factors that could lead to a resurgence of polio, something we havent seen in the country for 40 years. The reason why this concern is because of what he has seen from the recent measles outbreak. Now, dr. Willis says because of that, hes urging people to get the polio vaccine even though it has not been seen in the country for years. It can be fatal or leave a person paralyzed. An estimated 35,000 a year got polios from the 1930s to the 50s. It got close to 50,000 in the 1950s as well. But in 1979, the u. S. Declared the disease eradicated because of the vaccine but, again, with the recent cases of measles, dr. Willis is concerned the same can happen with polio. Now, he tells the marin independent journal reporter now, also in the article, it talks about how fewer than half of marin schools are vaccinated against polio. He took over control of the troubled Veterans Affairs Department Last year. He says he never intended to misrepresent his military service. A former San Francisco Police Sergeant emerged from court defiant and angry after he was sentenced to prison on corruption charges. Yesterday, a federal judge sentenced him to 41 months in prison, the maximum sentence possible. The judge said he violated the publics trust. The 48yearold sfpd veteran was convicted of stealing money and property from drug dealers. The investigation grew out of the 2011 release of these Surveillance Videos showing plainclothes officers raiding singleoccupancy hotel rooms. Firefighters in stockton want to know why the girlfriend of one of the bank of the west Armed Robbers was approved to ride along with a city fire crew for a day. Firefighters say last month anjelica shad deed them for a day shadowed them for a day. She said toward the end of the shift, she mentioned her boyfriend was a man who died in a fatal shootout with police. Firefighters want to know how she was approved by the city for a ride along in the first plate. On her background check, she listed a member of her boyfriends family as machine contact. They will be in peoples homes, observing what we do. We need to make sure citizens are safe and firefighters are safe also. Stockton police say she has a record for loitering with the intent of prostitution. Dates back to 2006. She tells reporters shes a certified emt. Shes going to school in San Francisco and says she needed the ride along hours for a paramedics program.
