Hopefully today a little bit of the same or maybe not . Partly sunny skies. I think well have more cloud cover, some of us saw cloud cover return in the afternoon. Look at the beautiful sunrise shot. Isnt that nice . I could gaze at this all day. Were not tracking rain, you could see the radar beams are going, nothing to pick up. Were looking at patchy dense fog this morning and that is a concern for the north bay valley locations as well as the east bay valley locations. In addition to the clouds, if youre traveling, visibility down to a quarter mile for some of our valley spots. Just be on guard getting up early this morning. Backing up here, show you first sign of the next system, here off the coastline. This one is going to be very weak. In fact the models have trended drier in the last 24 hours so i think as we get into tonight and tomorrow morning, there will be a very slight chance of scattered showers, especially over the north bay. But for most of us its going to be a mostly cloudy, mainly dry forecast today as well as tomorrow. 58 degrees now in concord. 56 oakland. 58 San Francisco. A cool 46 in santa rosa to start. If youre going to the coliseum, mostly cloudy skies, well call it partly sunny skies, northeasterly breeze at 10 miles per hour. When we come back well look at the afternoon highs for your region and im tracking a more powerful storm in the extended forecast coming up. We start with some new information about a Violent Police protest that lasted well into the morning. Lets look at what happened. [screaming] this is video from last night. Berkeley police are telling us that they did arrest about 10 people. Theres no word yet on what kind of charges those individuals will face but we do know some demonstrators threw objects at the officers. You can see it here. More than 100 officers from local Law Enforcement agencies were on hand and a couple of officers did get hurt. One was hit with a sandbag and dislocated a shoulder. There was also looting. We know a radio shack and wells fargo were both hit, you can see things were getting tense there as the officers were pushing back at this point in the protests. Vehicles were also vandalized including Berkeley Police cars. Reporter jabbed by a baton, pushed back from the police line. As people hurled rocks at officers. Reporter Peaceful Protesters struggled to keep a raging crowd in control. And their own heads above the smoke. Followed by rubber bullets which shot towards the direction of the next scene. Reporter looters smashing windows at trader joes. Knocking crates on to University Avenue and stealing wine from the store. People trapped in their cars had nowhere to turn. And neither did we. People en masse accosted, anyone reporting the mayhem. Violence and looting. Its just fighting violence with violence that we dont need. Reporter which so clearly distracts from the message. Why are people looting . Were peacefully protesting. We shouldnt take things from stores that are not bothering us. Reporter she fights to protect the shattered store window. People taking things, its not rights. Im sorry but they are not fighting against us. Reporter as others felt compelled to clean up the mess. That was katie reporting from berkeley. In San Francisco about two dozen protesters were arrested when they blocked traffic at powell and market streets. That area was actually filled with Holiday Shoppers at the time and the area had to be shut down for nearly two hours in the middle of the day. The protests there centered on the High Profile Police killings in new york and ferguson, missouri as well as several local cases. One marcher said she lost her son to a Police Shooting in San Francisco in october. He was shot seven times. And they never let me identify his body. From is a demonstration planned for shane evans this afternoon. Coincidentally the San Francisco mayor ed lee is in new york city today. Hes there for the u. S. Mayors summit on immigration and joined by about two dozen mayors including los angeles, new york and detroit mayors. They are discussing how to implement president obamas executive order last month which potentially spares up to 500 million undocumented immigrants from deportation. Police want to make sure the battle of the bay is on the field, not the stands. In 2011 a man was beaten unconscious, two people shot in the parking lot, the raiders are bringing in additional security today with undercover units to control the parking lots as well as the stands. Fans are routinely kicked out for unruly behavior at all nfl stadiums. The Alameda CountySheriffs Department tells the tribune this season deputies ejected on average 49 people at each raiders home game. On average of 10 people arrested for public intoxication or fighting. Oakland police ejected a total of 247 fans at raider games last year. 52 people were ejected at as games e. This is video of the first regular season game behind the two teams at the coliseum since 2002. Cars parked, theyve got their music on, a lot of people standing around, seen people coming out and selling snacks and selling battle of the bay t shirts. I have to say this morning since weve been here ive seen about a dozen Oakland Police and Alameda County sheriffs vehicles patrolling back and forth. He built homes and of course cared for his yard. Right now it would be pruning time. Reporter calls it a hobby now but in his eyes you can see the passion. So fairly widespread, no advisory in place. But something to be aware of because when its patchy and really thick it could be very dangerous. It will catch you offguard. Off the coastline here tracking a little bit of rain you can see being picked up off the monterey coastline im going to stretch it back a little farther and show you where the front of this system is. Right back in here. So as we get through the next 24 to 36 hours we may have the possibility of a few sprinkles, sort of come our way. This is going to be a weak system. I think most of us are going to remain dry. Im mentioning it because some of us may get a few light passing showers. Theres that line, theres that front showing you this morning, as we get into sunday night into monday morning even monday afternoon im already into monday night and you saw what happens when it moves through. It really falls apart. So were going to leave you with partly sunny skies for the next 24 to 36 hours. And maybe a sprinkle tonight into tomorrow for some of us. It looks like it favors the north bay but for the most part were mainly dry. I want to get all the way to wednesday, thursday, friday because this is when the stronger storm is going to arrive. So tuesday is going to be a drier day. Wednesday will be a dry day because were already at 5 00 and notice that rain line still over northern california. So we get into sunset, about 4 50, were still mostly cloudy but mainly dry, we wake up thursday morning and the storm has arrived. So its going to slip in while we sleep. At least thats what the models predict at this point. Were still a few days out. Thursday is going to be completely wet and windy. As we get into friday morning were on the back side of this system. And looks like, at this point next weekend will be mainly dry but again we have a stronger storm coming our way and could bring several inches of rain and sierra snow. Its going to be a cold system. Low to mid60s this afternoon. Extended forecast here, second half of the weekend in view, just talking about a mainly dry weather pattern today. For tomorrow maybe a few sprinkles.
