Back to the desk. Thank you, sal. San Leandro Police are investigating a shooting inside a walmart that sent people running for safety. It happened at the store on davis street just before midnight. Witnesses say it sounded like six to eight shots were fired. Ktvus Tara Moriarty is live at the store now with details on what led up to someone opening fire. Reporter good morning. Witnesses say there was some sort of a scuffle between some accused shoplifters and security. It happened just a few minutes before the store was supposed to close, right near the car registers in front of the store. Now, from what we could see, there were two suspects. One of them was taken away by an ambulance in a neck brace. No one appeared to be shot. This shooting unfolded at 11 50. Investigators stopped two people at the front of the store and were escorting them to a back office when one of the men started to fire shots. At some point we thought it was popping big bags. We didnt know it was gunshots until we heard people screaming. Reporter weve not heard back yet from san Leandro Police this morning. But witnesses say that the guard was not armed. We dont know how many guards were involved in the struggle. But typically walmart has a male and female guard station at the front of the store p. M. Luckily. Tara moriarty, ktvu channel 2 news. A 20yearold hayward man was arrested. Neighbors say that Joseph Daniel badiali was home for the weekend from uc santa cruz and family members came to them for help after an attack. He told me he killed her. I started screaming. So the boy came walking and stood up in front of us while the neighbor was calling the police. And then i asked him, son, what have you done, son . What have you done . Badiali is being held without bail on suspicion of murder. Hes due to be charged in court tomorrow. The man accused of a deadly beating inside of a south San Francisco gym is due to face a judge today. Police say 46yearold Kenneth Osako used a steel gym bar to hit 43yearold Diego Galindo on the head. Galindo died the next day. Osakos daughter said this was sparked by a confrontation over his girlfriend. The hbo series called looking is apparently leading to a parking shortage in San Franciscos potrero hill neighborhood. Neighbors are upset because of all of the Parking Spaces being taken up in the process. The citys Film Commission says the site allows filming to continue in San Francisco instead of los angeles and producers are also trying to spend quite a bit of money in the neighborhood to support local businesses. But Ma Lena Cohen, whose district includes potrero hill, says the problem has gone too far and shes proposing a bill that would require producers to give neighbors a 72hour notice any time film trucks come rolling in. When you are in San Francisco, have you noticed its hard to find a gas station. The tight Housing Market may be part of the reason. The chronicle reports housing projects are replacing 23 gas stations, including five on upper Market Street and four on valencia street. By 2017 there may be 40 fewer gas stations in San Francisco compared to a decade earlier. New this morning, the Supreme Court denied appeals from five states that wanted to prohibit samesex marriages. That means the Lower Court Decisions striking down same sex marriage bans in indiana, wisconsin, utah, oklahoma and virginia should go into effect soon. The decision clears the way for samesex marriages to happen in those states and six other states with similar bans. But the justices left unresolved for now the question of whether the constitution protects the right of samesex marriage in all 50 states. Ktvus pam cook will have more on what the courts decision this morning means. Thats coming up at 7 45. In a new report finds that Islamic State fighters are using ammunition from the u. S. And other countries and the ammunition was originally given to Security Forces fighting against that terror group. According to the new york times, ammunition transferred into syria and iraq frequently ends up in the hands of isis fighters. An organization that tracks weapons used by isis fighters says that the Security Forces being supplied ammunition often dont have the capacity to maintain custody of it. This comes as there are increasing calls to give more weapons to syrian rebels. The head of the cdc is scheduled to speak with president obama on the ebola crisis. The cdc said its getting about 800 calls and emails every day about the deadly virus. The calls have increased a lot since Thomas Duncan was diagnosed with the illness last week after arriving in the u. S. Now, duncan is in Critical Condition at a hospital in dallas. People who live at the Apartment Building where he was staying, they were quarantined. Authorities have located a homeless man who may have had contact with duncan. An american journalist diagnosed, he has arrived back in the u. S. This is video of him arriving in omaha, nebraska about an hour ago. He will be treated at a hospital there. Hes the second american to be treated at a special Isolation Unit at that same hospital. Hes also the fifth american to be brought back to the u. S. To get treatment. A doctor treated for the ebola virus last month, well, hes back in the hospital this morning. Dr. Sakr wa. Was admitted to a massachusetts hospital after experiencing coughing and a fever, but the experts dont think this is a reoccurrence of ebola. The ebola crisis could soon affect security. They are looking at doing some sort of screening to limit the risk of americans being infected. But top Government Health Officials Say they are opposed to placing a ban on travelers from ebolainfected countries, warning it could impact efforts to stop the deadly virus. 2 investigates looks into complaints from moving Company Customers and discovers a web of tricky tactics used by some firms that could end up adding big bucks to your bill. A Deputy District Attorney in santa clara who prosecutes moving companies tells us that he has uncovered all sorts of schemes to rip off customers. Two fishermen happen to be in the right place at the right time to help six kayakers to came face to face with a great white shark. The brothers were fishing near santa barbara, they heard a may day alert over the radio. It came from three kayakers clinging to a capsized kayak. The fishermen rescued them and they said they were attacked by a great white shark. An hour later, the brothers came to the rescue of three of the kayakers friends. They also said there were attacked by a shark. The shark knocked this guy out of the water, probably eight or nine feet through air. It came out of the water and punched about six or eight holes in the kayak. The kayak was sinking. Its estimated the shark was between 16 and 18 feet long. Everybody was shacken up but no one was shaken up but no one was hurt. We want to check in with sal right now and see how things are moving. Organizers of the elk grove festival say there was a drastic drop of the number of contestants in the contest held over the weekend. Usually about 100 pump kins are submitted. These year only 45. The average pumpkin size was smaller. Growers say because of the drought they cant afford to water the pumpkins as much as they have in the past. We use warm compost to hold the moisture in. A fire destroyed a Storage Facility full of wine bottles in walnut creek. Look at the pictures. This happened last night around 9 00 at a strip mall on arroyo way near civic drive. Good morning, we do have more information about the suspect that was arrested. Were on the 1200 block of arroyo way, about a block from Civic Center Park if you are familiar with the area. Right next to me is whats left after a fire destroyed what was believed to be a wine Storage Facility for a north bay winemaker. This is who Police Arrested. Walnut creek Police Arrested Arthur Holden on arson charges for allegedly starting this fire that last night roughly after 9 15. Police say he is a known transient and was seen omon footage an seen on footage at the time of the fire. Police also say he had stolen property from the business when he was arrested. He was arrested about a block from here. Fire crews from Contra Costa Fire Department battled the fire, and it appears they were able to knock it down to just that Storage Facility full of wine. There is damage to audio equipment. But as far holden, hes being held at the martinez detention facility. When i spoke to the wul Police Department, they said theres apparently no connection between holden and the winemaker. Holden was arrested on commercial burglary charges and a parole violation. The fire started last night around 9 15. Were live in walnut creek. Brian flores, ktvu channel 2 news. Oakland Police Investigating another homicide 0 outside of a downtown nightclub. It happened early yesterday morning at 14th and franklin streets. Investigators say it stemmed from a fight in front of the vinyl nightclub. Three people were hurt. One person died at the hospital. 27yearold connie souls iii was killed in a fight outside of the bella ultrasound lounge at 11th and clay. No arrests have been made in either shooting. 7 35. New information surrounding the shooting of a beating inside the angels Stadium Parking lot that left a fan fighting for his life. There were earlier reports by a los angeles tv station that the victim was a Los Angeles Police officer but just a short time ago, the l. A. P. D. Issued a nuz release stating those claims are false. The attack happened friday night after the angels lost game two of the American League Division Series against the kansas city royals. Police say the angels fan was walking with his cousin to the parking lot when three men attacked him. His cousin was not hurt. Witnesses say the Stadium Parking lot needs better lighting and security. The angels have since been eliminated from the playoffs. This is a harsh reminder of the brutal beating of beating of bryan stow in the dodgers Stadium Parking lot. He still suffers from brain damage, seizures and strokes. A jury recently decided the dodgers are partly responsible saying the dodgers did not provide adequate security. There was a violent attack at levi stadium just before the 49ers game. Ktvus janine de la vega joining us live from santa clara with a video that could shed light on what happened in the assault. Reporter the video is traffic. Weve blurred it to protect the victims identity, but we spoke to a Police Spokesman who told us that they hadnt seen the video. They are working to confirm it was the same incident that happened here at levi stadium said yesterday. If it is, theres very good evidence. The video appears to have been taken in the bathroom wearing a shirt with gores number on it punching a man wearing Colin Kaepernicks jersey. He falls to the ground and appears unconscious. Then another 49ers fan was thrown to the ground. The person who posts the video said the attack was prompted over impatience over waiting for an open stall. Police say two men were in the bathroom in the 300 level on the north side of the stadium when they were attacked by two other men. The victims were taken to the hospital for treatment but the extent of the injuries is unknown. The two suspects were arrested interms after the assault minutes after the assault took place. Police are investigating what prompted the attack. A 49ers spokesman said they are aware of it and are supporting the police investigation. Were waiting to hear back from what police say have to say about this video and to get an update on how those victims are doing. It would be ridiculous for the nations highest court not to decide the issue. One man has been charged with arson in connection with the fire. Crews are using new high tech tools in the search for that missing Malaysia Airlines jet. Australian Authorities Say the go phoenix search vessel arrived in the southern indian ocean earlier today. The search was suspended in may for the teams to regroup and reconsider their data. In addition to the new ship, searchers will also be using new 3d map technology. It makes a great deal of difference. They will be able to hold a tighter path knowing whats coming ahead of time. San Leandro Police are investigating a shooting inside a Walmart Store. It happened at the dask vis street location just before midnight. Tara moriarty is there with details from witnesses on what they heard and saw. And you have a statement from walmart. Reporter yes, just got off the phone from a walmart spokesperson. They said they are very thankful that their you customers and associates are safe. Witnesses heard a scuffle between accused shoplifters and security just before the shots rang out. It happened just a few minutes before the store was set to close right in front of the store near the cash registers is where it happened. Now, again, this happened at 11 50 last night. From what we could see there were two suspects. No one appeared to be shot. Security did stop two people in the front of the store, one of the men pulled a gun and started firing at least a half dozen shots. I heard three gunshots. As more went off, more people were heading off to the bike and we were safe in the back of the wul mart. Reporter weve not heard back from san Leandro Police. Witnesses say the guard was unarmed. We dont know how many guards were involved in the struggle. Luckily, no one else was hurt as walmart mentioned. Police did take the other suspect into custody. It happened saturday night at the mothers home on laporte avenue. Neighbors say Joseph Badiali was home for the weekend from uc santa cruz and family members came to them for help after the attack. He told me he killed her. He killed her. I started screaming. And so the boy came walking and stood up in front of us while the neighbor was calling the police and then i asked, son, what have you done . Badiali is being held without bail on suspicion of murder at santa rita jail. Hes expected to be charged tomorrow. The man accused of a deadly beating inside of a gym in south San Francisco is due to face a judge today. Police say 46yearold Kenneth Osako hit Diego Galindo on the head a steel gym bar. Galindo died next day. 200 families in napa are still living in hotels or with family and friends following augusts earthquake. The napa valley register reports many families are struggling to rebuild because they do not have earthquake insurance and finding a new place to live may also be difficult. Napa had a vacancy rate of 1. 7 before the earthquake. Fema has also not said whether federal disaster aid will be available for People Living in napa. A teenager who was hurt when a chimney clap collapsed on him collapsed on him during the earthquake, is recovering. Hes back at home but is still unable to walk and needs another surgery in december. Police told me that investigators have video of the attack that occurred here at levi stadium yesterday afternoon. Now, he doesnt know if it is the same fight video that a viewer shared with us. He was on his way to the Police Department and was going to get together with detectives to compare the footage. Weve blurred faces to protect identities of the victims. Theres a man wearing a niners shirt with gores number on it punching another man. The victim falls to the ground. And then the suspect throws another fan to the ground and starts beating him up. The person who posted the video says the attack was prompted because of impatience over waiting for an open bathroom stall. What Santa Clara Police have confirmed is that some time before kickoff between the 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs yesterday, two men in the bathroom in the 300 level on the north side of the stadium were attacked by two other men. The victims were taken to the hospital for treatment but the extent of their injuries is unknown. The two suspects were arrested minutes after the assault took place and booked into the county jail for felony assault. Police are investigating what prompted the attack. 49er spokesman told us they are aware of it and are supporting the police investigation. Lieutenant told me that once he speaks to the chief and investigators to determine if it was the same incident, they will release more information and we will have more on this on our noon newscast. Reporting live from santa clara, janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 news. All right, janine. A Los Angeles Angels fan fighting for his life after a brutal attack that happened inside the parking lot. There are earlier reports by an l. A. Tv station the victim was an l. A. Police officer but just about an hour ago, the Los Angeles Police department issued a news release saying those claims are false. Now, the attack happened friday night after the angels lost game 2 of the American League Division Series against the royals. Police say the anjeles fan was walking with his cousin to the parking lot when three men attacked him. His cousin was not hurt. Witnesses say the stadiums parking lot needs better lighting and more security. The angels, by the way, have since been eliminated from the playoffs. That attack at angels stadium is a harsh reminder of the brutal beating of bryan stow in 2011 in the dodger Stadium Parking lot. He still suffers from brain damage. He has seizures and strokes. A jury decided the dodgers are partly responsible for his injuries saying the dodgers did not have adequate security. Oakland police are investigating another homicide outside a downtown nightclub. It happened early yesterday morning at 14th and franklin streets. Investigators say it stemmed from a fight in front of the vinyl nightclub. Three people were shot. One of them died at the hospital. Yesterdays shoot something a few blocks away from another deadly shooting last wednesday morning. 27yearold connie souls iii was killed in a fight outside of the bella ultrasound lounge at 19th and clay street. No arrests have been made in either shooting. Walnut creek police have arrested a man in connection with an overnight fire that destroyed a storage unit full of wine bottles. We understand the owners of the business had berhere only since august. Want to go to a video of who walnut creek Police Arrested. Hes identified at 49yearold Arthur Holden. Hes booked on arson charges for allegedly starting this fire last night just after 9 00 p. M. Police say they were able to identify and arrest him so quickly because officers obtained surveillance camera footage from a nearby business and immediately recognized him on the videotape. Police say holden had in his possession stolen property from the business when he was arrested about a block from here. Fire crews it appears were able to knock down the fire. But an audio video store was damaged as a result of the fire. The person who works at the store says holden had been threatening tenants here for quite some time. A couple of months ago, the same man was arrested. He was picked up for breaking in here. He broke into the building and he was camping out in this wine cellar. Witnesses say there was some sort of a scuffle between security and two accused shoplifters. It happened at the front of the store near the cash registers. This all went down shortly before midnight. If we take a look at the video, you can see there were two suspects one of them taken away by ambulance. One you a peered no one appeared to be shot. Investigators say that security stopped two people at the front of the store on suspicion of shoplifting and were escorting them to a back office, when one of the men pull a gun a and started to fire at least a half dozen shots.
