That will help again to keep the numbers down over what we had yesterday. 58 degrees right now in walnut creek. Oakland 59. 58 livermore and 64 degrees right now for antioch. 58 degrees for areas around san jose. Into the afternoon, mostly sunny skies, breaking away or we should see mostly sunny skies into the afternoon as those clouds break away. 74 in oakland for today. 67 San Francisco. 79 for Mountain View. San jose 80s. Upper 80s for some of the warmer locations. Areas like pacifica and along the coastline. As we get into tomorrow temperatures will continue to fall and on monday the possibility of thunderstorms. I will explain why coming up. New this morning the chp said a sleepy driver may be to blame for a crash on interstate 880 overnight. The chp said a big rig was driving northbound on the freeway when he crashed into another big rig on the shoulder. The driver who triggered that crash was trapped and had to be rescue. He was taken to the hospital with major injuries but is expected to survive. Eight firefighters are being treated after being hurt battling a wildfire. The California National guard posted this video of the lodge complex fire. It was sparked by Lightning Strike its on july 30th. The injured firefighters were severely burned and had to be taken to uc davis. Cal fire wont confirm where they are from but crews from across california are at the frontlines and santa clara and alameda has sent crews. There is concern that smoke from the fire will drift into the bay area. The press democrat took these photographs and the large amounts of smoke. The bay area area Quality Management district has a Health Advisory for napa and sonm. Young people could be affected. Happening today, thousands of music lovers will make their way back to the Golden Gate Park for the outside land festival. You can see we are behind the scenes at the stage and this is a sense of how big this venues. This is just one of the stages that will be remembered today. We started seeing crews buzzing around. Getting everything ready for the second day of the festival. It was a big night last night. Kwayn west and artic monday keys took the stage and rocked the crowd last night. Just it would have the many acts preforming. Getting a ticket was hard. It sold out quickly this year. Police sent out a warning about fake tickets and warned festival goers to get their tickets through legitimate sources. Fake tickets not honerred honored at the gate. In all more than 200,000 fans are expected here this weekend and those fans spill out into the surrounding neighborhoods. Organizers have worked with neighborhoods to try to minimize the impact on traffic, parking and noise. Usually there are some complaints. This year as in years past there are some unticketed fans trying to rush the fences in hopes of getting in. Police will be on scene trying to keep them out. We have another big day planned out here. The pentagon released this th thermal image of the fighter jets dropping the laser guided bombs at isis targets in northern iraq. The strike destroyed a convoy. Militants are accused of torturing and killing religious minorities in the area. Refugees have been trapped for days and fear they will be killed can a state Department Spokeswoman said that the United States had to act. You see a potential act of genocide and we have the ability of to act. When we can we aim to do so. The United States has also completed a second air drop of food and water thousands in the mountains. Three planes dropped 72 bundles of supplies including 28,000 meals and more than 1500 gallons of water. We will go live to the white house when the president makes his announcement. He has commented on iraq this morning as part of his weekly address. The United States cant and shouldnt intervene every time there is a crisis in the world. This there is a situation like the one on this mountain when countless innocent people are facing death and we have the ability to prevent it we cant just look away. The president added that as commander in chief he will not allow the United States to be dragged into another war in aircraft. He iraq. Both california senators support military action. Senator feinstein said we either confront it now or we will be forced to deal with a stronger enemy in the future. Inaction is no longer an option. There are different points of view in the bay area about the new mission in iraq. Hundreds marched through downtown San Francisco yesterday in support of stopping the slaughter of religious minorities in iraq. The demonstrators call it a modern day holocaust. Another group staged a protest. They demanded an end to what they consider american aggression in iraq. The event was organized by a group called world cant wait. The state of hawaii today is the calm between two large storms. While iselle weakened to a Tropical Storm it still caused damage. Winds were at 60 miles an hour. Blew down sheds and toppled trees. At one point 33,000 homes lost power and two major power plants went off loin. Line. The body of a man was found in a park but its not clear if the death was storm related. The mayor said there are no other reports of major injuries. The good news is we have dodged a bullet. We have prepared for the worst and hoped for the best. We got more of the best. Now comes hurricane julio. Currently it has winds of 100 miles an hour. Forecasters predict itll pass about 200 miles northeast of the big island tomorrow. A prayer vigil is planned for a missing woman tonight. Police think the 20yearold Vanessa Flores is being held by her exboyfriend. He is suspected of shooting and killing killing a 19yearold last week. Police say flores may have been in the car during the shooting. The vigil will be held tonight. A Police Investigation is underway in antioch after allegations of police brutality. They tased him, punched him, kicked him. It was a business excessive. This is cell phone video of the scene on tuesday. It happened at the arco station. Witnesses say the man appeared to have mental problems. He had been talking to himself and dancing. It is not clear what caused that situation to escalate with the man and police. Even if he was on drugs or whatever he wasnt messing with nobody. He wasnt causing any damage to himself or anyone else. Some witnesses also took issue with how police treated them. The police turned around and were trying to take everybodys phone. They knew they were wrong. If its evidence then you just can about it. You dont start pulling people out of their vehicles for it. Antiochs police chief said by phone that he will not comment on the case because its being investigated. An associate to serial killer Charles Manson wont be released. The 71yearold bruce davis has spent 43 years in jail a parole board ruled in march he was suitable for parole based on good conduct but the governor has rejected that decision. It is the third time a california governor denied daviss release. He was convicted for the murders of a musician and student man in 1969. The Fremont Unified School district is holing off on plans to use a Sex Education book that some say is to explicit. The superintendent wants the district to stop using the books until parents concerns can be addressed. Hundreds signed a petition demanding that the district stop using the book in ninth grade health classes. In the meantime the district will go back to the text book it used last year pending approval from the board. On tuesday san jose makes its pitch to move the as to the south bay. San jose attorneys will go before a federal Appeals Court to argue for the citys anti trust suit against the commissioner. San jose claims the giant shouldnt have rights to the south bay and baseball should allow the as to move. Its being called a victory for College Athletes. The tumors are rarely obvious. Symptoms are very vague. They include bloating and soreness. Doctors say after diagnosis only about 40 of women will survive fiveyears. Yesterday karen son hiked a trail raising the first 50,000 for the walking for karen campaign. The California Attorney jeb has joined mostly sunny than two dozen other states urging the fda to make stronger restrictions on e cigarettes. The 29 attorneys general want the fda to ban fruit flavored e cigarettes and tv advertising. They would be far tougher than the ones proposed by the fda in april. Those included new heat warnings and banned sales to children. Delta is ranked as the west in the nation. The Group Airfare watch dog said they have the fewest cancellations and the most improved Customer Service. Thats a big improvement for delta after coming in sixth place last year. Lets look at where this is ongoing. Iselle, 35mile an hour winds and improving over areas of hawaii. Take a look at what is going on just to the east. Hurricane julio still going to be a threat. It looks like its actually going to move north and west of the islands. I will put this in motion here and take a look and as it does its expected to weaken. By tonight a category one and then by tomorrow we are looking at it even weak ebbing further with winds dying down to eight miles an hour or 80 and then down to 70 by monday. Again, we are hoping that this will be its track and that the hawaii islands will be spared that. Here at home we have a cooldown. We are expecting for your saturday. Septemberors say he was deer hunting in hunting last august when he let a camp fire spread out of control. At the time camp fires were prohibited because of the dry conditions. That fire continued for nine weeks burning more than 257,000 acres in and around Yosemite National park. If convicted emerald faces up to fiveyears in prison and a 250,000dollar fine.
