moisture and has triggered a few sprinkles. berkeley, so that ridge of high pressuring the circulation around it sending it our direction and this is what we're looking at. get in a little bit clozzer and pick up some of the green here. into parts of the south bay there. with the sublayer below it, very, very dry. a few sprinkles reported this morning. that's what we have. i think by the second half of afternoon we will turn mostly sunny at least away from the coast. it will have some temperatures very nice once again. hot once again. 65 in concord. 61 in knapp pa. low 60s in oakland. you're checking in at # 5. a lot of us waking up a tad warmer than when we were yesterday. our temperatures will continue to soar. 79 for oakland. in the futurefast model, when these -- the cooling trend will continue. more coming up. and we are following breaking news out of berkeley. police are looking for a person who ran out on to interstate 80 and caused a car accident. police say the person ran off the interstate and has yet to be found. lanes have to be shutdown. unclear why the person was running on the roadway. well, happening nowing, thousand of runs are pounding streets. live for us at the starting line this morning with the 37th annual san francisco marathon. katie? >> reporter: good morning. it was an early wakeup call not only for us but for the thousands of the runners. the elites took off at 5:30. the last of the runners that are were starting the 5k took off. they're pretty efficient. they're taking down the start line. the finish line is just a few hundred feet beyond us. but let me show you video of the start of the race. >> two, one, go. >> reporter: not sure if you could heard it but there was a cable car bell that started the san francisco marathon. we expect to see some of the elite runners that you're seeing here cross the finish line within the 7:00 around. they're around the golden gate bridge but there are plenty of others that are completing the time runed for the first time. >> hope it's not -- >> this is my second san francisco. dippin a full back in 2011 and this morning i thought thought i'd do a half. they're headed to golden gate bridge. >> reporter: they're go across the bridge. then back here to the embark. there's security around the race. we have some motorcycle clubs that are providing some security. they're taking down the start line at this point. we're going to head to the finish line. you'll join you and we should have our elite runners across the race and we'll have some of the marathon winners it tell you about. >> time now 7:05. east palo al to police are investigating a triple shooting. police were called. police found three people were shot. one man and two women. the 3 32-year-old man was taken to the hospital. >> a wild fire near the town of plymouth. that fire has burned about 4,000 acres. right now it's 20% contained. five homes and several other build vaccination been destroyed. the fire tripled in size yesterday. the first full day it burned. firefighters say it is a combination of dry, hot weather and steep terrain that's making it so tough to put out. >> this is going to be happening all over. i don't think it's specific to this area. this is just what we're going to see across northern california until we get significant rain. >> the fire was started by a vehicle driving in dry vegetation. the wild fire is also forcing evacuations. it starts at 4:00 yesterday afternoon. this fire has burned 700 acres near 141 and 120. the small communities are evacuating. highway 120 is closed in that area. it is main route through the park. highway 140 remains open. fremont police say they were forced to break a car window to get to a 6-month-old baby inside. police say the mother had accidently locked her baby inside the car at the time it was hot and the sun was streaming directly on to the child's face. they tried to get in using a lockout tool but it was taking too long so they broke the window instead. later today, search is expecting to resume. he was last seen on july 13th jumping off a boat. he never resurfaced. according to the daily californian his family raised more than $13,000 to bring in a specialized crew to search for him. he was in texas for a summer internship. one man is dead. yesterday afternoon police -- just west of the camp ground. the kayak had capsized with two people on board and one of the men struggled to stay afloat. they performed cpr but were unable to revive him. his identity has not been released. a state senator is calling for an investigation. the state investigative reports shows that a criminal investigation is warranted. how the state department of transportation knowingly accepted substandard work at taxpayer's expense. they'll discuss the report on a hearing. some residents of albany are raising concerned of homeless. they've seen them running across the tracks and are concerned they may get hit. they're asking to take more action to help the homeless. fighting continues this morning despite them agreeing to a 24-hour cease fire. the palestinian group then agreed to a day-long u.n. cease fire. they accused show you where all of this is coming from. we've been tracking the same pattern. we got the ridge of high pressure, the circulation around it and there's that monsoon moisture. that going on for southern california over the sierra. i'm going to run you through this. these clouds are going to clear as we get into the afternoon. not really picking up on any rain. a little bit out there. by around noontime, 1:00 we're clearing out. the clouds clear from the coast just a bit but they're back by the afternoon. temperatures a lot like yesterday. they'll span anywhere from 30 to 35 degrees depending on the coast or the inland areas where you will be for today. 87 for today. 75 for berkeley. 79 in oakland. mid to upper 90s for our inland cities. 99 san jose. your extended forecast here today, temperatures will be a lot like yesterday. cool at the coast. mild to warm around the bay and hot inland once again. 95 in morgan hill. by the second of the day, the clouds are going to clear out, at least for most of us. the look at futurecast coming up. thousands of runners are pacificking the pavement. it may seem like they are everywhere. let's take a live look at the bridge right now and you can see traffic is moving on the span on the top of your screen though. there are all those runners making their way on this beautiful morning. and there are a couple lanes closed for the marathon. so luckily traffic is light and it's not effecting anyone through that area. but the san francisco marathon is underway right you now. the race kicked off at 5:0 this morning. >> two, one, go. >> and they were off. this is the event's 37th year. some 26,000 people signed up and a few brave souls are testing their endurance by running the double marathon. yes, you heard that correctly. they are running in their second marathon. if you're drive management city, expect traffic delays today from the downtown area to fisherman's wharf and around golden gate park. it loops through most of the city. if you're watching the race known knows someone, we invite you to take some few pictures and send them to us. he's actually taking pictures as he goes and posting these pictures on started friday afternoon and right now it's 20% contained. two bay areas strike teams have been sent to help fight this fire. the fire is monitoring the situation closely. >> more than 1400 firefighters are now on the sand fire. and up against the same forces we've seen all summer. fuel like kindling, steep terrain, hot, dry weather. >> this is a really critical day for us. we're hoping we can get through this day and hold the fire. >> instead the fire expanded. threatening more homes beyond the five already destroyed. and a few hundred new households were evacuated in -- that's >> reporting. that fire was started by a vehicle driving in dry vemmation. firefighters rescued a 200- pound tortoise. they were forced to leave him behind. they went back to rescue him. an investigation is under way to -- that fire started about 3:30 yesterday morning. it took firefighters more than 12 hours to get that fire under control. an employee inside escaped before firefighters arrived but had to be transported to the hospital with critical injuries. three of the five buildings were completely destroyed. >> the coast guard is warning people about responsible boating after rescuing an intoks indicated man from a paddle boat. a witness called the coast guard after seeing a man passed out. the coast guard says he was intoxicated but not hurt. he's luckily he did not fall overboard. it happened at a home on muran street. the victim was there with her two young boys ages five and eight. just before 2:00 the 8-year-old called 2001 asking for help. >> what happens to be an 8-year- old who was at the crime scene, reporting that someone had just come in and attacked his family. >> police say the 8-year-old was not hurt. the 5-year-old is in stable condition. the mother died to are around 26,000 runner out here running from the full 26.2 to even a double marathon and a 5k. they are running over the golden gate bridge through golden gate park through thu the ashbury neighborhood. the elite runners. they are being interviewed. we would have the elite women's runner coming up here shortly as well. we've got just a -- the weather is perfect for running. we're going to be live here at the finish line throughout the morning. we'll be with you in the next half hour. new this morning, east palo alto police are investigating a shooting. they were called to this home. they found three people who were shot. one man and two women. the 31-year-old man died at the scene the two women were taken to the hospital in stable condition. no arrests have been made. they're asking for the public's help in the case. two families are living in temporary housing this morning after a fire destroyed their apartment in richmond. it starts just before 4:00 this morning. firefighters say two people suffered burps. they also say a neighborhood helped save lives by knocking on people's doors to warning them about the fire. at least one of the families is being helped by the red cross. the cause is under investigation. >> berkeley police are looking for a man who ran on interstate 80. he has yet to be found. lanes have to be shut down for about 5 minutes of the it's unclear why he was running on the roadway. threaten hundreds of homes this morning. 700 homes in the area have already been evacuated. that fired burn 4,000 acres since it started. it's 20% contained. five homes and seven other buildings have been destroyed. two bay areas strike teams have been striked. the fire tripled in size yesterday. it's a combination of dry, hot weather and steep terrain. >> this is going to happening all over. i don't think it's -- specific to the area. this is just what we're going to see across norp california until we get significant rain. >> the fire was started by a vehicle driving in dry vegetation. and a wild fire near -- it's burned 700-acres. the small communities are evacuated. highway 120 is closed in that area. it's the main route through the part. highway 140 remains open. >> fremont police say they were forced to break a car wind to get a baby out who was locked inside. it happened on thursday afternoon in the shopping center near fremont boulevard and maori avenue. the mother had accidently locked the baby inside the car. at the time it was hot and sup was streaming directly into the car. they tried to get in using a lockout tool. but say it was taking too long so they broke the window instead. later today the search is expecting to resume for a student who went missing in a texas lake. he was last seen july 13th jumping into lake travis. according to the daily californian, his family raised more than $13,000 to bring in a specialized crew. he was in texas for a summer internship. >> one man is dead after his kayak capsized. emergency crews responded just west of the campground. witnesses say the kayak had capsized and one man struggled to stay afloat before disappearing. he was under water before rescuers pulled him and perform cpr. they were unable to revive him. his identity has not been released. a state senator is calling for an investigation into the construction problems. a senate investigative report shows a criminal investigation is warranted. the state department of transportation knowingly accepted substandard work at taxpayer's expense. he'll discuss the report at a hearing on august 5th. people who live and work nearby say they have seen homeless people running across the tracks rein concerned they may get hit. residents are asking the city to take more action to help the home god bless. >> fighting more on that coming up. happening now, we are following a bay area tradition. the 37th annual san francisco marathon. we hope you were watching at 8:00 this morning when we showed you live the winner of the men's race. 's runner from reno. we are going to go back now to katie live at the finish line watching as those runners continue to cross. >> reporter: claudine, i'm sure you can hear the music. it is a party out here. it is a beautiful day along the embarcadero. the finishers are coming in strong about three and a half hours into the race. we're seeing a steady stream of runners finishing. they have completed 26.2 miles. i'm not sure how they do it, but they do it beautifully. let me show you some news chopper 2 video overhead. some 26,000 people are partaking in the san francisco marathon. the 5k runners are wearing the yellow shirts. the top female runner finished 2 hours 49 minutes. she won this race as well last year. >> it definitely adds a little pressure the next time you run it. you want to win again, and it's not always easy to do that. >> reporter: runners took off from the embarcadero around 5:30 this morning. it is a massive event across the city. local motorcycle clubs are providing the security. as far as we know, everything has gone off without a hitch today. and we've got one runner here who is looking a little ill, but we do have plenty of medics out here helping. for the most part the weather has been cool so that's good news. it is getting a little bit sunny. ace look down, it is cloudy and rain on that side of the city. if you know how it is in san francisco, one half can be foggy, the other half beautiful. so up until now the weather has been great. this is what they're running for. a medal of the san francisco marathon. it's a beautiful medal. there are plenty of folks out here happy to receive it. we'll be live for one more half- hour and have more on all of the elite finishers and some of the regular folks out here running their first, maybe even their second marathon. a wildfire near the town of plymouth in amador county is threatening hundreds this morning. we just received an update from cal fire. that fire has burned 3800 acres since friday afternoon. right now it is 35% contained. 700 homes have been evacuated. five homes and seven other buildings have been destroyed. two strike teams have been sent in to fight the fire. the fire tripled in size yesterday. firefighters say it is a combination of dry, hot weather and steep terrain that is making it so tough for them to put out. >> this is going to be happening all over. i don't think it's specific to the amador-el dorado area. this is just what we're going to see across northern california until we get significant rain. >> cal fire says that fire was started by a vehicle driving in dry vegetation. a wildfire near yosemite is also forcing evacuations. 700 acres near 140 and 120. two small communities are evacuated. highway 120 is closed in that area. it is a main route through the park. highway 140 remains open. new this morning, two families are living in temporary housing this morning after a fire destroyed their apartment in richmond. it started just before 4:00 on mcbride avenue near humboldt street. two people were injured. firefighters say a woman suffered burns to 40% of her body and a man had burns to his arms. firefighters say a neighbor helped save lives by knocking on people's doors to warn them about the fire. at least one of the families is being helped by the red cross. the cause of that fire is still under investigation. also new this morning, east palo alto police are investigating a triple shooting. just before midnight, officers were called to kavanaugh drive near an elementary school. police found three victims, one man and two women. the 31-year-old man died at the scene while the women were taken to the hospital in stable condition. no arrests have been made. investigators are asking for the public's help. fremont police say they were forced to break a car window to rescue a six-month- old baby who was accidentally locked inside. it happened thursday afternoon near fremont boulevard. police say the mother had accidentally locked the baby inside the car and called for help. at the time it was hot, and the sun was streaming directly onto the child's face. officers say they tried to get in using one of those lock-out tools but say it was taking too long, so they broke the window instead. later today the search is expected to resume for a uc berkeley sophomore who jumped off a boat into lake travis. he never resurfaced. his family has raised $3,000 to bring in a specialized crew from florida to search for him. a state senator is calling for a criminal investigation into construction problems on the new bridge. he says the report shows that a criminal investigation is warranted. he says the report shows how the state department of transportation knowingly accepted substandard work attacks pairs' expense. the state senator will discuss the report at a hearing on august 5th. some residents of albany are raising concerns about homeless communities living along the railroad tracks between cedar and gilman streets. some people who live and work nearby say they have seen homeless people running across the tracks and are concerned that they may get hit. residents are asking the city to take more action to help the homeless. the tensions over the middle east can be felt here in the bay area. hundreds of people rallied in san francisco in support of the palestinians. the demonstration lasted for more than four hours. people marched to union square and then back. police did have to break up a heated exchange between several protesters and a family who was sympathetic with israel. fighting between israel and hamas continues this morning. that's despite the militants group agreeing to a 24-hour cease-fire. israel launched that offensive in gaza after hamas rejected an earlier truce proposal. however, the israelis accuse hamas of continuing to fire rockets into israel. the tel aviv government thanked the u.s. and the secretary of state, john kerry, for efforts to end the fighting but officials say they have the right to defend themselves. >> the people of gaza are not our enemy. our enemy are the people shooting those rockets into israeli cities, the terrorists trying to kill our people. >> hamas rejected the truce because israel wanted to continue to destroy tunnels. a mixed martial arts fighter who has been training in the south bay is now getting ready to join the israeli army. the featherweight fighter won his final bout yesterday in san jose. he won a unanimous decision. he says it is now his duty to go back to israel where he was born. he adds that while he has been living in sunny california, his parents have been forced to run to bomb shelters during missile attacks with just 15-second warnings. excitement is building in san francisco. coming up, sandy hook elementary school is being investigated. a local firefighter was walking near the playground when he discovered several scratches on the sign. police say they believe the vandalism happened last weekend. a six-year-old boy born with only half of a right arm is getting some help from engineer nears at the university -- engineers at the university of florida. he says his feelings have been hurt as other children talk about his arm knew. i've been bitten by a shark, alligator, and also round over bey a car. >> alex's mom says she knew she wanted to help her son and discovered a project at the ucf engineering school. a team there had created an affordable bionic arm that alex could use. after just a few fittings he was able to use that new arm. >> we have a responsibility to do this. with these degrees in engineering, if we can't be helping people with it, then what are they worth? >> the team made that arm with 3-d printers and common off the shelf gear. it cost just about $350. bay area brides today will get a chance to find that perfect dress at an event that promises to not only save them some money but also help in the fight against breast cancer. it is called the brides participants. this morning at least two people are recovering from minor injuries sustained in the bull run in pleasanton. the event was the first of its kind in california. but as ktvu tells us, bulls. >> people are more scary than the bulls. >> reporter: this man says thrill seeking runs in his family. and at 8 2, he wanted to one-up his children. >> i thought i had to do something. >> reporter: he garnered hugs and high fives for running twice, walking away with a bandaged wrist. this is what it looked like on the track. >> a lot of mayhem. everybody is acting like they're brave, then they're booted off to the side and laughing and crying and screaming. >> reporter: one man got nailed in the back. >> he was standing in the center, trying to run in front of the bull, and he got nailed straight in the back, the bull ran over him. someone grabbed him and pulled him out. >> reporter: a second person was injured. both are expected to be okay. >> i'll watch my friends do it, but i won't be in it. >> animal rights activists protested saying the bull run forces animals into a highly stressful anding dangerous situation. but the organizer says runners are told not to hit or hurt the animals. >> we love our bulls. the bulls can hit the people all they want. that's what the people sign up for, but we don't want the people hitting the bulls. >> reporter: the runs brought in more than $150,000, not to mention the revenue from visitors at restaurants and hotels. this man says even though he was the oldest on the track, he would do it again if given the charns. >> if you're 8 2, the rebels with heavier and more powerful weapons. despite the dangers the family of one of the passengers aboard the flight has made their way to the site. we told you about the family which flew from australia to eastern ukraine to see the site. their 25-year-old daughter was on flight 17. despite pleas from the ukrainian government not to visit the area they did reach the separatist stronghold. they said it was an extremely emotional time going to the spot where they lost their daughter. >> we have promised our daughter we will come here. but actually as soon as possible. it is a time factor. we should have come here the minute it happened. >> a group of australian police officers are also in eastern ukraine to observe the wreckage and recover the human remains that are still there. however, dutch investigators canceled their visit to the site because of security concerns. the $100 million security perimeter detection system at new york's kennedy airport failed again. yesterday airport workers found two kayakers on a pier at the end of the runway. the men told the new york post that they rode to the closest point on shore after losing a couple of their paddles. both men were cited for trespassing. it is the same runway where a man climbed over an 8-foot fence two years ago and walked into the airport after his watercraft ran out of gas. so far 2014 has been a deadly year for commercial flight. 764 people have died, almost three times as many deaths as last year, and the highest number of fatalities since 2010. but experts say despite recent incidents, flying is say. they say the tragedies involving the malaysia airlines plane shot down near the ukraine-russia border and the mysterious disappearance of the flight four months ago are the result of unusual circumstances and are not a sign of systemic problems. >> the situation we're in is that we're flying a great deal more. double the number of flight hours for commercial aviation that was true 20 years ago. and yet the fatalities are steadily going down. >> industry experts say technology has made mid-air collisions and crashes less likely. in the u.s. alone the rate of deadly airplane that. earlier this morning it was areas like palo alto, areas like saratoga, los gatos, berkeley. if we shift inland wade call into the newsroom saying it is raining in dublin. it sure is. take a look. lighting sprinkles falling over dublin. looks like it is going to be moving out of your area shortly. a few sprinkles this morning, reports of virga, meaning we see it on the radar but it is not necessarily hitting the ground because it is very dry out there. 73 livermore, 73 in antioch. so with the subtropical moisture back in the picture it is going to feel a bit muggy out there. 65 in novato. we could cool just a and in the some areas because of the clouds, because of the on shore breeze, but i think it is going to be mainly hot for inland communities once again. mid to upper 90s in the forecast for you. 70s, 80s around the basement 80 degrees for san mateo, 70 san francisco. cool once again in pacifica. 65 expected for you. we do have this cooling trend that will continue. it's a minor one but i will show you that. we'll talk about how long the subtropical moisture is going to remain in place coming up. happening now, more runners crossing the finish line at the san francisco marathon. 26,000 people signed up for the race, billed as one of the most scenic in the world. ktvu's katie is live at the finish line. >> reporter: i heard you all talking about how long you could run. i've got running shoes on, but you won't catch me running a marathon. i do want to give a happy birthday shout-out to someone who is running their first marathon. her mother approached me. emily, it's her 25th birthday, and she is running her first marathon. quite an accomplishment. there are some 26,000 people who are completing this. we'll show from you video from news chopper 2 which has been overhead all morning. they've got some 26,000 people that are running the marathon. the men's top finisher completed it in about two-and-a- half hours. he is from reno. our women's top finisher, this is actually her second year winning the race. she completed it in 2 hours 49 minutes, and she's out of berkeley. she's a bit of a local phenomenon. i am told that she has also won the oakland marathon. there are just tons of local runners out here. the man you are about to hear from is celebrating his wedding anniversary and the completion of a very long run today. i asked him what it takes to go the distance. >> just a lot of miles. it takes about 500 miles of training for one full, and not much less than that for a half. so this is just a celebration of all the training. >> reporter: it really is a celebration for all these folks. the race started at 5:30. they ran across the city, over the golden gate bridge, through golden gate park, back here to the embark deer radio. i'm told it is one of the only races in july because of the fantastic weather here. there are so many people that want to cheer on the runners and take the spot that i'm standing in, because they have loved ones crossing the finish line. so we're going to wrap this up. live in san francisco, ktvu. a wildfire is threatening homes in amador. right now it is 35% contained. five homes and seven buildings have been destroyed. firefighters rescued a 200- pound tortoise named abe from the wildfire. abe's owners were forced to leave the 20-year-old reptile behind when they evacuated. firefighters went back to rescue the tortoise yesterday after the flames flew through that area. police have arrested a man on suspicion of killing a woman and injuring her five-year-old son. it happened west of sonoma boulevard. police say the victim lived there with her two young boys, ages eight and five. they say just before 2:00 the eight-year-old called 911 asking for help. >> the police department gets a 911 call from what appears to be an eight-year-old who was at the crime scene, reporting that someone had just come in and attacked his family. >> police say the eight-year- old was not hurt. the five-year-old boy is in stable but serious condition. their mother died on the way to the hospital. police say they arrested 43- year-old darrell wakefield of vallejo on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. police say that wakefield knew the 40-year-old victim. >> it was a very violent incident. mr. wakefield has a very violent history. he is currently on cdc parole. >> police are not saying how the woman was killed. investigators say they're still searching for the murder weapon and are also trying to determine why the family was attacked j. a san francisco state university professor is going to appear before a judge tomorrow. mark landis allegedly videotaped more than a dozen former and current students. prosecutors say he hosted students at his home but one day a student found a surveillance camera in the bathroom disguised as a tissue box. the investigation started last november. he taught accounting from 2006 until last friday. and testimony is set to resume this wednesday in the trial of a former concord schoolteacher accused of molesting students. 46-year-old joseph martin has pleaded not guilty to 150 counts involving 14 former male students. on thursday a data expert testified that a child porn website history and suspicious searches were found on two computers belonging to martin. martin's defense attorney argued that martin may have accidentally been redirected to the websites through unintended pop-ups. a funeral for a woman killed in a police chase will be streamed live. police say she was used as a human shield by one of the robbers. her funeral is going to be held tomorrow, 11:00 a.m. at bear creek community church in lodi. it is a public service. we are learning new information about the soldier from central california what was killed in a bomb blast in afghanistan. the 19-year-old army private, first class keith williams' family spoke out. they remembered williams as a natural born comedian who loved to make people laugh. they say he joined the military because he wanted to do everything he could to make sure he protected the people he loved. >> his mom and i are very proud of his accomplishment, even though we've lost him, and it's very, very difficult. but we're very proud of him. that williams died thursday when the truck he was riding in near the border of pakistan was hit by an i.e.d. another soldier from nebraska was killed in that attack. governor brown is headed to mexico on an important economic trip. governor brown is expected to sign several agreements on issues including climate change, education, and trade. joining him on the trip will be a group of business leaders and state lawmakers. a quirk in scheduling means california will have four different governors this week. governor brown will be in mexico. lieutenant governor gavin newsom will head to the east coast on tuesday for a special olympics related event. senate president pro tem darrell steinberg will take over leadership but he leaves for chicago on wednesday, so assembly speaker tony adkins will be active governor for about nine hours until governor brown returns from mexico. new information is being released about the investigation into who replaced two american flags on the brooklyn bridge with two bleached white flags. investigators are now saying they collected dna from tin cans that were covering bridge lights. they believe whoever switched out those flags stood on the pans but so far they haven't found a dna match. >> at this time it appears hat no particular necks to us terrorism or even politics. this may be somebody's art project or it may be an attempt at making some kind of statement. >> investigators say they are looking across social media for any clues. they're also interviewing flag makers and checking internet sales. they are also reviewing surveillance video, checking license plates and tracing five nicknames that tipsters suggest might be associated with the incident. the 49ers say they want to keep injured running back kendall hunter, as we told you yesterday. the backup player tore a knee legment and is expected to miss the upcoming season which is also the final year of his contract. the general manager of the 49ers told comcast sportsnet he wants to sign hunter to another contract. he calls him a tremendous football player and an even better young man. a san jose state football player is also on a difficult road back from a debilitating injury. linebacker jarrod lee suffered burns after plunging through what he called a wall of fire raging in his apartment. he was slated to become the team's starting middle linebacker, and now while the spartans are preparing for their first game next month, he tells the mercury news he is focused on the early stages of a long recovery. however, leif, who turns 21 is vowing to play football again. we now know the days and times singers will perform at this year's outside land festival in san francisco. that event is august 8th through 10th at golden gate park. friday's headline ser kanye west who is going to perform at 8:00. saturday macklemore and ryan lewis will perform, diego's comic-con witnessed a man driving through a crowd of people. a woman was hit. she was taken to the hospital. she is expected to recover. the driver, aussie there, he was taken in for questioning. police say he was trying to get around a large crowd of people when his children got scared. they say when he tried to drive through the crowd, people began punching the car, and that's when he sped off. the renter who refuses to leave a condo has been connected to another scam. the owner says he was supposed to rent the unit for 44 days but has stopped paying and will not move out. according to the san francisco chronicle apparently this isn't the first time he has tried a scam. back in november on kick starter he and his brother collected $40,000 to create a video game. that game has never been released. the chronicle reports he recently launched another campaign to raise $25,000. garbage trucks in napa could soon be running on food waste. for the past year the city has been hosting a food composting program. officials have been wanting to expand the program to produce enough methane to power the garbage trucks. napa just received adds 3 million state energy grant that they could put toward the project but in order for it to be fully funded the city would need $12.7 million. a woman in colorado is trying to help stray cats by taking them from the street to the stage. samantha martin is the ringleader of the cat circus. she says she quit her job as a zookeeper to focus on the project. she says after seeing so many cats without a home she wanted to do something to show people how much fun owning a cat could be so she began training cats to entertain potential owners. >> the cats roll barrels, push shopping carts, jump through hoops, doing long jumps, high jumps, ring bells, and even play in an all-cat band called the rock cats. >> after each show people have the chance to adopt any of the performers. martin says since 2009 she has found homes for 142 cats. the cat circus will be in boulder throughout the weekend before heading to denver. martin says she is still working on the show schedule for next year. time now is 9:46. it has new transition in a weather pattern that we are seeing here. it is back, the subtropical moisture that just keeps giving. take a look outside our doors. mount diablo there, you can see it for yourself, the mid and high-level clouds. it was kind of rare earlier in july but this is, what, our third or fourth bout now, so it's kind of becoming the norm, at least for now. a ridge of high pressure over the four corners in the desert southwest, and the motion around that ridge of high pressure bringing in that monsoonal moisture. so we sure have seen a lot of it latelily over southern california, over the sierra, thunderstorms a possibility again as we get into the week ahead. so fur planning a trip to the sierra something to keep an eye object. we had a few scattered showers pass through earlier this morning. it was more widespread from areas along the south bay into the east bay. if we shift closer you can see continuing to get a few scattered showers perhaps over areas like dublin, pleasanton, and black hawk, the east bay hills as well. so that ridge of high pressure is going to remain in place. that will keep our temperatures warm. the subtropical moisture coming our way that is going to make it feel a little humid once again for today. the morning showers, hot temperatures, back into the 90s for our inland communities. 70s and 80s around the bay. partly to mostly cloudy. six at the coast where with the low clouds and the fog along the coastline. so temperatures range from the low 60s to the low 70s at this time. 74 in antioch, 73 in livermore, and san jose you
