His injuries were serious enough that he was air lifted. The man had armed himself when the suspect jumped inside the building. He shot and killed him. The burglar didnt think anyone was home. The building looks like a commercial building. The owner lives inside. The suspect was driven to a nearby hospital. The people, who transported him are in custody at the Richland Police station. They are saying they were passing by and helping out. Police believe they know the suspect. Its unclear who shot the homeowner, the burglar or people, who drove him to the hospital. We do have an update on the victim here. He is in serious condition but expected to survive. This morning, police in heyward are searching for a suspected bank robber, who was captured on camera, wearing annen usual tan an unusual thirty. He was wearing a shirt that said i have issues. He passed the teller a note and said she wanted the money. Police are anybody anyone who recognizes him to contact them. A san leandro teacher accused of having sex with a student surrendered to police. Prosecutors say leon chang has been charged with two felonies, including statutory rape. The arrest came after an investigation that lasted months. Police received a tip about the relationship. Investigators trying to determine whether another body found on Mount Tamalpais is that of a nearby missing woman. Reporter dave, good morning. This is an unusual circumstance. Six days ago, a body was found on mount tam and this morning another body was found. Investigators are working hard to identify her. Police found body around 4 40 yesterday around. Investigators drive the area as steep and treacherous. Authorities say its believed the woman may have fallen 40 to 50 feet, which is filled with rocks, boulder, and rough terrain. This morning, it is unclear whether the body found is that of a nearby woman. While authorities did not release the information, they say there are similarities, including the clothing that does match that of the missing woman. Those that frequent mount tam say hikers or bikers can often get loss or disoriented if theyre not prepare. Be prepared for the ride. Be prepared for weather changes. Be prepare with food, water. You know, you could get stuck in a really exposed area and get dehydrated, which is going to make you delirious. Be safe. Be read. He was found in a drainage. Two highway workers are recovering after being hit by a driver. The work early were hit on eastbound interstate 80. The workers were closing down lanes when they were hit. The chp is reminding other drives to slow down in construction zones. We have people that need to go home to their families at the end of their work shift. The two highway workers were taken to a north bay hospital with minor injuries. The driver has major injuries. Once he is out of the hospital, the chp says he will face dui charge. An 8yearold boy was among people hurt in a suspected drunk driving crash. Police say the driver of a white suv ran a red light around 10 00 last night. The suv had a car, which had a couple and two children inside. The suv driver, a woman in her 40s, was arrested. Police say she did show obvious signs of intoxication. So far this year, less than a quarter of oaklands homicide cases have led to an arrest. Oakland police say thats because theyre not getting the information they need to solve the cases. Yesterday, Police Released this surveillance video, hoping to catch a suspected in latest homicide. It may be connected to a shooting death. Family members of other homicide victims say they know what its like not to have answers. I cry most of the time. Still cry every time. I cant stop crying. I know crying will not bring him back to me. His first born son was shot and killed in february. He was a college student. This is one of six homicide cases that ended in an arrest. This morning, Oakland Police are calling on the city council to buy new radios after yet another outage last night left Police Officers unable to communicate out in the field. The manager says the Police Officer will get new radios and the matter should go before the full city council no later than june. A native just checked in an bart and say bart service is on schedule this Morning Hours after a train went off the tracks. Officials say the train was headed into a maintenance yard and then went off the tracks. No passengers were on board, and there were no obvious signs of damage. That derailment came on the same day state regulators handed down a 210,000 fine over an accident that killed two bart workers. Osha found bart violated rules and the policy was not fold. The policy required workers to take responsibility of their own safety. Christopher shepard and Lawrence Daniels were struck and killed by the bart train. Osha says they were not properly trained. Barts general manager released a statement in response to the report, saying bart has upgraded its safety procedures with the implementation of an enhanced Safety Program and a proposed budget investment of over 5 million in resources. The fate of a Sonoma County supervisor accused of peeping into a womans home will be decided in the next few weeks. Jury selection in the trial is expected to begin on monday. Rising complaints against the San Jose Police department is leading to new recommendations about how the department operates. The audit released yesterday shows complaints about Police Officers rose to 357 last year. There were 329 the year before. The top complaints include failure to follow procedure, use of force and lack of courtesy. There were six officer involved shootings. The auditor detailed 15 recommendations on how to address the complaints. Topping the list of the recommendations, the Police Department should make crisis intervention training mandatory and also provide Field Training on how to interact with people of color. It also recommends the firing of two officers, who lied during internal investigations. Happening today, a task force investigating hate crime allegations at San Jose State University is expected to release its recommendations. This comes after four white freshman were accused of bullying their African American roommate. The student, who said he was bullied filed a 5 million legal claim against the university. The four students have been suspended and face charges of misdemeanor battery and hate crimes. The study recommends requiring students to take diversity training. Two bodies found in just two weeks off of the same popular hiking trail, the latest one, a woman , who may have fallen 40 feet. Brian is live where hikers are reacting. Reporter hikers, bikers, residents here nor mill valley, theyre shocked that two bodies have found. In terms of latest discovery, investigators have yet to the positively identify the body that was found. What we know is that crews found the female body around 4 40 yesterday afternoon in a drainage area along the mountain side. Investigators describe the area as streep and treacherous. Authorities believe he may have fallen 40 to 50 feet into the area. Its unclear if the bodied is that of marie christine. Her father had her reported as missing when she didnt come back to her car. Authorities said there are similarities to the missing woman, including the description of the clothing she was wearing. That derailment came of the same day state regulators handed down a 210,000 fine for an accident where two bart employees were killed in october. Cal osha found that bart violated safety rules are and that the policy was ineffective and followed.
