Another nice day in store, once we get past the clouds, even patchy drizzle reported in some areas, and i think the bigger story at this hour is how much warmer we are, anywhere from 4 to 8 degrees warmer than where we started yesterday morning. Ville those numbers coming for you. Mostly sunny, slightly cooler conditions expected for the afternoon. As we get past today into the week we have a gradual warmup in store. I will line up these numbers coming up. Developing news in union city, two people were killed in a shooting. Alex savidge live this morning in union city to tell us what is happening right now. Reporter good morning. Crime scene tape is still blocking off the number of streets here in this union city neighborhood. You can see crime scene technicians continuing to process this scene and gather evidence. The body of one young man was removed a short timing a. According to police very few leads as they try and track down the person responsible for this double shooting that left two young men dead. Someone heard gunfire early this morning, came outside and found these two men down in the street. Let me show you some video from earlier this morning, just within the last half hour or so the coroner was out here and removed the body of one victim who died at the scene. The second victim was transported to the hospital but ended up dying there. The shooting was about 1 00 this morning right near 11th and d streets in union city. We spoke a short time ago with the Police Commander who told me at this point investigators dont have a lot to go on. Theyre trying to figure out what led up to this violence. At this point were unsure of the motive. Were looking into every possible angle. We dont know the motive right now. Were looking for witnesses, anybody who may have seen or heard anything. To that end investigators will be knocking on some of the doors in this neighborhood trying to talk with more people who lived nearby to figure out what they saw and heard. At this point theres no description on the shooter or the shooters that police are searching for this morning. Thus far police are not identifying the two young men who were killed out here, and obviously we dont know exactly how old they were at the same time. Its been a long time since union city has seen this kind of violence according to police. I was just speaking with the commander and she told me these are the first two homicides here in the city so far this year, and there were no homicides here in union city during all of last year. Police working hard to try to find the killer responsible here for taking the lives of two young men here overnight. Live this morning in union city, alex savidge ktvu channel 2 news. San fransisco police are investigating a shooting inside a party bus. It happened at 2 15 this morning around 9th and folsom. No one was on the bus but they found several shell casings. Police are searching for the gunmen. A san jose neighborhood is on edge following a deadly attack caught bay security camera. Ktvu obtained Surveillance Video of the shooting in the downtown area yesterday afternoon. The images are graphic. So we froze the video just before the first shot was fired. We then pick up as the gunman carrying what looks like an ax is running away. Relatives of the victim 22year old ramon garcia says he leaves behind six young children. This is who im dating. I was dating him. Hes not a bad person. Investigators say theyre trying to determine a motive or if the attacks gang related. Witnesses told us they were too frightened to go on camera but say the shooting started with a fight and say someone hit ramon with an ax life weapon before he was shot and killed. The deadly stabbing and shooting we told you about yesterday, 22yearold Carlos Aldana stabbed his mother to death on friday night at her home in marin city. 44yearold rosa aldana was found in the home by responding officers she died from multiple stab wounds. Investigators say after killing his mother, aldana boarded a golden gate transit bus and headed to San Fransisco. When they spotted him he was getting off the bus at fillmore and chestnut. He was armed with a knife and covered in blood and say officers shot him after he lunged at them. He is in serious but stable condition at San Fransisco general hospital. When doctors clear him police say he will be booked on suspicion of murder. Continuing coverage now of the rim fire burning near Yosemite National park. Firefighters are struggle to control the flames which have burned almost 130,000 acres. Katie utehs is live in our newsroom with how firefighters plan to battle it today. The fire is only 7 contained. Crews have strengthened fire lines above the community of pine like mountain. Their fight today will be a rough and uphill battle. Cal fire says crews will focus their efforts on holding the fire east of the north fork of the too kwame river. At this point some 4500 homes and outbuildings are threatened as the fire burns into a second week. There are no reports of injuries and evacuees are staying at a red cross shelter. 15 minutes to get out of our house. We got our kids, our animals and a little bit of our pictures and paperwork we really needed. It was hard. The shelter has how how housed nearly 200 people forced from their homes. As of saturday afternoon some people who live in the Pine Mountain lake area were allowed to go home. With steep terrain and dry conditions the potential for the fire to spread is considered extreme. The concern there is that its actually starting to back down into some canyons that could make some big runs and thats where we get large fires to spread. Some 2600 people battling the rim fire are also working to hold the eastern edge of the fire in Yosemite National park. So far only remote wilderness area have been charred in the park. We are just days away from the bay bridge closure, and there are already traffic problems. Now the full closure isnt going to happen until wednesday night, but right now three lanes of the toll plaza are shut down in preparation, and yesterday people trying to cross the bridge ran into some huge backups. Some drivers actually took to the shoulder risking a ticket while some other people got out and walked around. Engineers say the toll booth work couldnt wait until the whole bridge is shut down because the work schedule is already packed. We have the other lane to do during the five days. We have to take out toll booth 17 and modify that island. Engineers say the gridlock should be temporary. Work on the toll lanes is expected to be finished by tomorrow morning, and the new eastern span is scheduled to open after the labor day weekend. Authorities near Jacksonville Florida are trying to figure out why a man went on a deadly rampage that involved five different shooting scene. Hubert allen junior used to work for a trucking company. Yesterday morning he went to Company Headquarters and shot and killed a former coworker. Police say allen then drove a short distance and gunned down his 80yearold former boss. Family and friends gathered to honor the memory of christina and Ethan Anderson. Police found the remains of the mother and son in the burned out home of family friend james dimaggio. He also allegedly kidnapped hannah handerson, the two were found in a remote stretch of idaho wilderness. Six days later dimaggio was shot and killed. Hannah was rescued unharmed.
