We have fog bank out there and the delta breeze seems to be stronger out of the west. 90s inland. Not much change coast and bay. Another update on traffic with sal. Looking good in the east bay. This is interstate 880 in oakland. The traffic is moving well. Also looking at the commute approaching the bay bridge on the east shore and that traffic is doing well. Lets go back to the desk. We begin with breaking news out of sanford. There has been a Security Breach at the university. Affects students, faculty and anyone else who uses stanfords network. Stanford says the apparent cyber attack is similar to those at other Large Organizations in recent months. We have a crew on the way to the campus. A live report at 7 30. 7 02. A former High School Coach in napa arrested on child pornography charges. What led to the investigation and a police raid on the mans home, paul . Reporter good morning. According to police, he was a part time wrestling coach and also a part time photographer. His most recent school according to published reports is right here. This is his mug shot we have of him. Hes 43yearold richard rachfael. Facing charges of selling, sending and of pornography. Has a web site shows pictures of wedding, children and High School Students and says hes been a commercial photographer for more than 14 years. Police found child porn on his home computer. He is cooperating with the investigation and admitted to downloading child porn for five years. However, he claims he never took child porn pictures or videos. Also being reported he was a part time wrestling coach from 2008 until february of this year. Also said to be playing in coach wrestling this fall. Police in union city arrested a man accused of exposing himself to a teenage girl. Now police want other victims to come forward. Accused of exposing himself to a 14yearold girl on tuesday after allegedly following her in his car. Police say gonzales has admitted to exposing himself to as many as 8 other people. Now to our continuing coverage of the 10th and often bitter contract talks between bart management and unions. There are ten days left before the next strike deadline of august 4th. And the two sides still appear to be far apart. Katie is at a bart station and tells us why a bart shut down in august could be far worse than the one in july. Reporter rider numbers are higher than during the last strike. That could mean a lot more people trying to take bart and a lot more people on the roads. Commuters wont forget the traffic snarl caused by the strike earlier this month. You can see the long lines of commuters struggling to get home. Bart management and Union Leaders have been meeting trying to reach a new contract agreement before the august 4th deadline. Thats when the current extended contract expires. Both sides admit they are far from an agreement. Union workers shouldnt be allowed to strike. I think its like a public utility. I dont think you should have the right to strike. I think if youre a system that the area depends on, then both sides need to come to an agreement in ways that dont disrupt the community. Reporter in other cities like new york, chicago, boston, and washington d. C. , the unions are prohibited from striking. Asked a Spokes Person what it would take to do that here, there would have to be a change in the organizations enabling status to prohibit future strikes. New developments in the investigation into a practice into a hospital in nevada of sending mentally ill patients here to the bay area. A commission made a preliminary decision to revoke the accreditation. Three dozen of 1500 patients discharged by the hospital in the past five years have been sent to San Francisco on greyhound buses without any arrangements for housing or medical care. The hospital can appeal that decision. Back here at home, east bay mud has left the scene of a gas leak after being out there working all night. The crew with the Water Utility ruptured a natural gas line on danville boulevard near stone valley road. Evacuation lasted about five hours. The gas line was broken when a mud crew was digging to find a water line. As we were digging to do our work, the markings were off. So our crew hit a half inch gas line. Contra costa county sent out a phone alert to more than 900 people. One Cable Provider notified people outside alamo about the evacuation. A lot of people were confused. County officials have launched an investigation. Fire investigators in san jose plan to talk to a couple tractor operators. It started about 6 00 last night near San Jose International airport. The flames burned about three acres. There are no injuries. Tractors were cutting grass in the area when that fire began. Lets check in with sal. Hows it going . Its better than usual, guys. Why many members of government dont have to pay to see a coneither or baseball game. Congress says crimes on board cruise ships are under reported to the public. Why crimes against kids dont get counted in a live report in a few minutes. Plus, another passenger plane has landing gear problems. What happened to that delta jet was getting ready to land. Delta plane has landed safely in baltimore after a pilot reported a problem with the landing gear. Delta flight 1425 made the Emergency Landing yesterday afternoon. No one was hurt. The plane is being inspected. The incident comes after ten people were hurt monday night when the landing gear collapsed in new york. Were also learning about a private Memorial Service for the victims of the asia na airlines crash. The San Francisco Mayors Office reports it was held yesterday. Mourners came to pay their last respects to the three girls who were killed. No other details are being revealed about that service. Time now 7 14. New congressional report that shows most crimes that are happening on cruise ships are not being told to the public. And consumer advocates say thats a threat to passengers. Law makers learned only 3 of all the crimes are being told to the public. Reporter thats because the law governing cruise ship crimes only requires certain crimes be reported to the public. For example, the public doesnt find out about crimes committed against miners. Take a look at the against minors. Take a look at the crimes. 71 incidents on board cruise ships. But only 24 were reported to the public. The Senate Commerce Committee Says the difference in the numbers is likely victims under the age of 18. Committee members blame the language of the law created by congress three years ago. Only requires cruise lines to report crimes no longer under investigation by the fbi. Its exclusive video to channel 2. Four men detained in a shooting that wounded two people in San Francisco. Ktvu shot this exclusive video. Handcuffed men less than ten minutes after gunfire erupted. The suspects are accused of shooting a man and a woman yesterday afternoon. But after the shooting, police say the suspects gassed up their pickup truck at a gas station where they were spotted. The police followed them and later arrested them. A man accused of killing two people at a San Francisco Jewelry Store earlier this month is due to enter a plea next week. That Court Hearing comes after dozens of family members of the victims went to a Court Appearance yesterday demanding justice. I want my sister back. I want her to come home. The suspect barry white appeared in court yesterday on charges he killed two employees at the vigtoga Jewelry Store earlier this month and critically injured the owner after a dispute over the price. Sglt why they kill her like that . Hes still living. He has no right to do that. What we going to do . White was released from Contra Costa County jail a year and a half ago after a judge cut his bail. Hes accused of ramming a police car back in 2009 and threatening a police officer. The city should have made the changes after previous accidents involving pedestrians in that same crosswalk. The third fatal accident involving a pedestrian in less than three years. Tonight San Mateo County officials will give a look at a plan for a new coastal hiking trail with spectacular views. The counties are getting ready to takeover the notorious the double side road. The Oakland City Council could take action against own of its own members tonight. A hearing has been scheduled. An audit found she violated rules when she inter feared in the construction of a teen center. Discipline could include censure. Theres no penalty attached to that action. This morning some observers are raising question about practice giving free seats in sports arenas to government officials. Government officials who seat more than 40 tickets. Those tickets were worth 600 a piece but free for the officials. Government officials have access to seats at baseball games, football games, basketball games, the arena. If you have 60 seats not being paid for on a regular basis, it may seem like a small number, but ultimately it not only affects the bottom line but impacts public trust. More than 1,000 tickets were given to Public Employees at candle stick park last year. Ed lee received 122 tickets. His office says 80 of those tickets were given to under privileged children.
