We are live in downtown san jose where police are investigating the death of a woman. They believe she may have fallen from a highrise. One of the largest man hunts in california history continues at this hour. The search for the fired Police Officer who has threatened to bring warfare to lapd. Someone was perhaps driving too fast. Also the morning commute is looking good on 680 southbound. Lets go tobacco to dave and lets go back to dave and pac. Streets are blocked off downtown as Police Investigate the death of a woman. Janine de la vega is at the scene this morning with that police are saying about the case. Janine. Reporter the coroner just arrived here on the scene. We are in downtown san jose at st. James street where one block is blocked off. It goes all the way to san pedro. This investigation death is of a 25yearold woman. Her body is laying here in the street. Police say 911 calls started coming in just before 3 00 a. M. Someone heard a thump and went outside and saw a ladys body lying on the ground. She fell from the 11 story of the complex. People were with her at the time. They are investigating to see what happened. Heres what a lieutenant had to say. Police are leaning toward that this may have an accident. They are talking to witnesses right now. At this point they do not believe that foul play was involved. Again lets two to what that lieutenant had to say. Weve contacted several reporting parties and a few witnesses so we are talking to them right now just to determine that happened. Currently there is no signs of foul play. Reporter at this point, police are going to stay here on the scene at least for another hour. Again, the coroner has just arrived and they are continuing to follow up with their investigation. We are told the homicide unit is not coming out here again. At this point Police Believe that this may have just been a horrible accident. Police officer christopher dorner. He is accused of killing a Police Officer. This man hunt covers the entire state and from nevada to mexico. Investigators think dorner may be hiding in the Snowy Mountains of big bear. Ktvu Tara Moriarty is live in our newsroom right now. Tara, you are tracking this trail. What do you know now . Reporter Authorities Say the rugged terrain in big bear and over night snow could provide dorner with cover. 125 officers are scouring the area for the man that is considered armed and dangerous. Schools in big bear were on lock down and area ski resorts closed. L. A. Police chief says all classes should resume this morning and businesses should open. Sheriffs deputies and local police in big bear have been going door to door warning of the 33yearold. They are also conducting aerial searches and using canine units to try to track him. His burned out pickup truck was found on a forest road. He is still targeting Law Enforcement and a threat to the greater community. This has gone far enough. Nobody needs to die. Reporter the entire state of california is under a tactical alert. The search for dorner has extended to arizona, mexico, and nevada where he homes where he owns a home near las vegas. One example of how this man hunt has Police Officers on edge. Yesterday lapd officers shot a 71yearold woman. Believing she may have been that armed gunman. The woman was delivering newspapers with her daughter. Police mistook their truck for his truck. And the 71yearold was shot twice in the back. This morning she is listed in stable condition. Police in san pablo are asking for your help in search for two dangerous armed robbers. They want everyone to take a close look at this surveillance tape. It was taken at the formers market on rum result boulevard. You can see one man taking cash and cigarettes. A second man that you cant see in this tape ordered an employee and customer on the floor then shot them both in the leg. Both victims are now recovering. Time is 5 05. Authorities are scaling back a search for a missing man in santa rosa. But family members are not giving up hope. Searchers have spent six days looking for 35yearold jason kyle of sacramento. Investigators say a hiker spotted him naked and chanting on saturday but he has not been seen since. Family members say he is disupon tent over personal issue. Louisiana state police say she was drunk when she plowed into the couples car several mile from the super dome. Increase in alcohol prices could help reduce the number of alcohol related deaths.
