It will be a cooler day for many. San francisco high of 62. 44 for san jose. We will go for a high of only 65 today. Highs today very cool for friday. Cooler i should say. 58 to 68. Not the mid 70s we had a couple days ago. There is that system that will cower out the fog and usher in cooler conditions. Only a patch or two of fog. A lot of 60s here. Here is sal. Steve, good morning. We are looking at the traffic that is mostly calm out there. There are a lot of people out there already driving somewhere. This is a look at the bay bridge toll plaza. Its backed up for a five to ten minute delay before you make it on to the bridge. Also we are looking at 880 north and southbound. That traffic is moving along very nicely as you drive through there. There are no major problems. There is a report of a car fire. Northbound 87 and some three young men were seen running away from the car fire after it started. According to witnesses. So San Jose Police and chp are on the way. Lets go back to the desk. We are following developing news mismorning. Santa clara county sheriffs deputies remain at the scene of a deadly shooting outside of a restaurant. It happened just before 10 00 last night on white road. This is in an area of East San Jose. Deputies found the male victim in the parking lot of the san jose taquria. There are no suspects at this time but since white road is a heavily traveled area, deputies open someone may have seen something. Janine de la vega is there on the scene. She will give us an update in 30 minutes. Just when you thought the bart contract talks were settled, now there is word of a glitch that may derail the talks that led to the fourday bart strike. Ktvu brian flores is joining us live. You are in west oakland where details that the unions say they are not budging. Reporter commuters were certainly breathing a sigh of relief when they reached that agreement an the bart strike ended. But now with this language glitch there are signs of a possible is another bart strike. When bart board of directors and management saw it there was language in it concerning paid family leave that management says they didnt agree to. That is being reported the issue resolves around how much they will receive under this new contract. The new contract would have given workers six weeks of paid family leave. Prior language reportedly would have asked for workers to use sick leave and Vacation Time first. In any case bart Board Members say they are investigating while the union says they are not budging. They voted on what was presented by the district. The district had the same practice we have. Its a complete agreement. We expect the borders it is under investigation how it ended up in the contract. Whether an administrative error or otherwise. We do not know the cause at this time. Reporter bart unions have overwhelmingly ratified the agreement. We asked bart Board Members whether this will lead to a strike and they say simply they just dont know. Meantime new talk of a strike looming at Oakland Airport by retail and fast food workers that threaten to go on strike during the upcoming holiday season. They protest unfair labor practices by host international. They have been in contract negotiations for the past year. Wages and Health Benefits are the issues. The workers will walk off the job sometime duringth busy thanksgiving to Christmas Holiday travel season. Happening today a dream comes true for a young leukemia patient. Now the chief of police in San Francisco says look, his department does the best they can, but they will take a super heros help any time. As you all know as well as anybody i wear a costume daily. So i will be attired as i am right now. I will have my bat watch in the spirit of the day and i will be there to thank batman and batkid for assisting San Francisco Law Enforcement and keeping this city safe. The long wait for highway 24 commuters just about over. The Ribbon Cutting ceremony to open the fourth bore of the caldecott tunnel will be held this afternoon. U. S. Transportation secretary anthony fox will be among those attending. The ceremony marks the end of the of a four of year 417 million tunnel project. The new bore is scheduled to open this weekend. But drivers if you are heading between oakland and orinda on highway 24 expect delays during the final hours of this project. Crime fighting upgrades coming soon to the Palo Alto Police department. That has wiped out the fog. It has clear skies. And it is colder. I was looking at the santa cruz mountains. I couldnt see any 30s but i found a bunch. A couple around napa. Only patchy fog. I should probably take that out there. Cooler and breezy. 58 to 68. Nice visibility but the breeze will pick up. San rafael being one. 47 to start off. We will go for a high of 66 degrees. It will billion sunny side up but it will be cooler. Over all we have clear skies expect for a hint of fog on the san mateo coast. I think that will get wiped out pretty soon. 37 napa airport. 34 up in tahoe. 41 ukiah. Tahoe just missed on some of that presip. Tahoe says cloudy. That is setting the stage for a cooler day for us. The Peninsula Humane Society is offering a 1500 reward for information in a disturbing case of animal cruelty. A Good Samaritan rescued a pit bull puppy that was left for dead.
