We are looking at traffic here that is moving along very nicely if you are driving to the bay bridge in some of those lanes it is light. Some of the middle lanes its slow. A huge fire thristed Claudine Wong you just there was concern when you is v a the baa fatale job that the man that was there at the time talked to deputies before he left and then he took off. The woman inside also got out and now at a friends house nearby hopefully getting some sleep. The next people you see standing in front of the building now. Owners that apparently saw the fire on tv. And came down to check out the damage. Let me show you what the fire looked like. When firefighters got here it was around 3 15 this morning. The video you are looking at sent in by a viewer. As you can tell those frames were really going. About three quarters of the structure that is described as a used car lot. We talked to a neighbor about what he saw and heard. I heard about six big pops. It sounded like somebody was dropping metal all over the place. When you came out what did you see . Flips about it was just bomb bomb bomb boom boom. They shut them down and they were able to get mostest fire out. They will be out here for a couple more hours. Still going through all of that debris. Making sure the hot spots out r out. They are a fire at a recycling plant in stockton sending smoke across two freeways. That fire is at a recycling plant along filbert street near highways 44 and 99. It started at about midnight. Reporter yes, the water has been shut off here at Terrell Elementary School on pearl avenue. A car crashed into that water main you see right there. And water went spraying into the area. People have been brought in to nix it police say this ever at around 3 00 a. M. When clipped a the driver of the transfort was anywhered but were inside the scene. The man was found injured in the bushes laying down. There is suspicion there could be alcohol involved. But we are not sure. Reporter police are investigating whether to call this accident a hit and run because they are trying to determine who the driver was enif that person was the one that stayed at the ten if a felts manager with a san ho school will be open this morning. They plan on bringing porta potties to the school. An explosion rocked a neighborhood just after 4 00 this morning. You can see these are live pictures from that area. You can see there are firefighters battling flames there. At lest one house was detroyed. A california firefights. A Southern California hospital and a doctor that works there is being sued by a patient. Veronica valdez works at thorns medical center. When she needed surgery on her finger she decided to have it at the hospital. The anesthesiologist put stickers on her face to look like a mustache and tear drops. The doctor says it was only a joke. There is really no such thing as a joke in the operating room played on someone that is dependent upon the people in the operating room to keep them alive. The hospital says it took disciplinary action against the doctor and nurses aid involved but it will take their jobs. The claims in the lawsuit are inaccurate. Exaggerated or fabricated. I saw reports of areas that have been socked in on the coast are showing clear sky ifs there is some fog out there. Most will not last long. Patchy coast, fog, sunny and warmer. By wednesday i think temperatures plunge. 50s to very low 60s. A little cooler. Concord forecast today if you live or work in concord it will start off cool and get warm up. 91 today. Well go for a high. In San Francisco its all summer long its been the inland areas that warm up not the coast. But that will not be the case. Santa cruz looked really long. It will take us into the weekend. So temperatures 60s and 70s and 80s. A lot of this is not looking like a typical delay. Although some reason to the far left we are not seeing delays. So its a little better than usual. Its about a ten minute delay at the toll plaza. Its better than it was in the last few days. This is typical for a friday. Ten minutes on the toll plaza aye. Also toll plaza westbound. I want to talk about Contra Costa County highway 4 a little slow. It looks good to concord. And then as we move to Solano County highway 37 right there. Reporter in the last half hour i also talked to the owner of this building. You can see some folks standing right there. They are going in and taking a look at the damage. We have a better idea of exactly what was happening on the property. The owner says they bought this about a year ago. The year you are looking at night is a and is. In the center of the construction was a living space. The man was renting that space for about a year. He was here at the same of the fire and so was a woman now lets take a look at the fear when firefighters got here they say three quarters of the structure was already burning. They had it under control at 4 15 but couldnt get close because of down power lines. We talked to the battalion chief about the challenges they face. Three people are in the hospital after the car they were traveling in crashed into a water main. Police say some tried to run away. Ktvu janine de la vega is joining us live from the scene to tell us they have been found and what is happening at the school. Good morning. Reporter good morning. The School Facilities manager here at Terrell Elementary School is working to fix this broken water main. You can see here they exposed pipe and cage right next to it which is crumpled because a car slammed into it. School will open up in a couple hours. Police say some of the people that are inside the car that crashed into this tried to get away. But they have been
