Response network. They are a group that responds to the scene to provide legal aid whenever they hear of an arrest going on. The people you see in front of this house are from that group. It looks like they are talking to some of the media and they are talking to one of the women who live in this house. The Investigation Division entered this home to serve a search warrant for a criminal investigation. We are trying to get clarification all morning about what that criminal investigation was about. We just got word from the oakland Mayors Department this was an investigation involving Human Trafficking of juveniles in oakland. Federal agents were here at 6 30 in the morning. We saw them leave the home with a dozen boxes of material. At least two young men were taken away. The young lady who lives here came out a short time ago to speak to us what happened. As far as she knew her adopted brother and brotherinlaw both from guatemala, both undocumented, both in their 20s were taken away by dhs officers. Shes shocked by the allegations and says agents told her they were inside investigating the familys january janitorial business. I heard screams, rumblings. I told my husband let me go outside and check whats going on. Because i heard already i. C. E. Was doing, you know, sweeps across the bay area. They put me against the fence to check if i was armed or anything. They said tell everyone to come outside. So i told my husband to come outside with the kid. Itll be all right. If anything we have a family lawyer, so we will get in contact with them. Reporter now Oakland Police were autohere to close down the street during this investigation, during this situation. Oakland is a sanctuary city, placing a cooperate. And Oakland Police just ten minutes ago put out a statement clarifying their involvement. Hsi, homeland investigation headquarters contacted Ann Kirkpatrick requesting two Police Officers to assist with Traffic Control. Chief kirkpatrick gave strict restrictions that they may not enforce with any enforcement efforts. The officers only role was Traffic Control and neighborhood safety. Again a young lady with the family here said she didnt know anything about the juvenile sex trafficking allegations. She said agents told her they were only investigating the familys janitorial business. You can see there is still a large group of people with the Alameda CountyRapid Response network standing out in front of the house talking to some of the people who live inside, and talking to neighbors about what happened out here. My colleague henry lee will have more on this story in our later newscast. Back to you. Lets talk about immigration status real quick. Do you know if anyone who was taken away was taken away because of their immigration status . Reporter well hi a chance to speak to one of the family members who lives in this house. The only one was from guatemala. Agents asked him if he had documentations, if he was in the country illegally. He says i dont, im not in the country legally. He says those federal agents let him go. And they did not lead him away. It appears at this point based on of the interaction in the house they were focused on the criminal investigation, not civil immigration enforcement. Police and Highway Patrol officers are investigating a bay area freeway marking the second on 880 in just three days. The cent ones happened on northbound 880. Ktvus Allison Burns alex savidge is live for us. This was the 100th freeway shooting here in the bay area in the past year and a half. Chp does not know what the motive was for this latest shooting, but we do know two teenagers were riding inside the suv along this stretch of the freeway when another car pulled alongside the car and the passenger leaned out of their window and started firing. It was about 10 00 last night when drivers reported gunfire in the northbound lanes of interstate 880 in hayward near jackson street. Someone opened fire on an suv with two teenagers riding inside. Neither of them were hit by the gunfire, but they were injured by flying glass. Those teens pulled off the freeway and went to the Hayward Police department for help. Chp says the victims first spotted the shooters car as they were driving on surface street in hayward. Then the same car pulled up alongside them once they got on the freeway. As they were driving northbound on the freeway, the same vehicle thin countered in the city streets pulled up alongside of them. They observed one of the officers, pointed a handgun at them and started firing rounds. Reporter investigators have no evidence of any confrontation between the teens and the suv and the person who fired at them. This was the second freeway shooting along 880 in as many days. On monday morning in san leandro, a driver was shot in the head and critically injured in what the chp call a road rage attack. In both of those cases officers have only a vague description of the getaway car. Information from other drivers can often be crucial to solving these kinds of crimes. If youre in a position to provide some information, we will gladly accept that. But we can you dont put yourself in harms way. So dont try, if you see an incident going on, dont put yourself in harms way. Just be a good witness. Oftentimes now people can film from a great distance. Reporter unfortunately there are no Law Enforcement surveillance cameras along this stretch of 880. Investigators are saying they do not believe these two shootings along this stretch of freeway this week are connected in any way. But if anyone throughout has any information on either of these two crimes they should put in a call right away to the haywards chp office. Lets hope the chips start coming the tips start coming in.
