And cow fire and santa fe fires rescue team worked together and brought in boats. In some spots, the water was nearly 4 feet deep. This started out with a few individuals in a car that became trapped. Their car stalled and the water was too deep and they couldnt get out. They were the initial rescue and thats where it unfolded into being you know, rescuing people from the houses. All morning, emergency crews traveled from house to house helping more than 100 people evacuate and get to safety. In all, 49 people were rescued and 59 were aye able to drive out on their own. It was dark and treacherous. It was moving fast and scary. Driving at that hour and not knowing the water condition and stuff. Reporter residents were shuttled by bus and received help from the red cross. The water started receding midmorning and those that stayed behind tried to rescue livestock. And the benicia marina, there are flooded homes and toppled trees and overwhelmed sewer systems and few businesses in the benicia area have been told to evacuate because of the rising water. Reporter the citys public works director estimate that is this sinkhole expands the entire width of minor road and it is below a thin layer of pavement and the ground beneath the pavement has washed away. We have an update on some of the tests that the Water Utility did on the water because of the broken sewer line and this bridge and they found that no Dangerous Levels of sewage flowed into San Pablo Creek and they estimate there was so much rain that the amount of sewage that spilled from the pipe was negligible compared to all the water and rain that is flowing through the creek right now. They are in charge of opening up this and tear up the street and then they are going to have to and they will replace some of the pipes that burst when all of this happen yesterday and into this morning.
