Dozens of school buses lined up along the highways as a quarter Million People will be evacuated from the coast later this afternoon. National guard has mobilized. We have 700 Traffic Control points along the interstates. You will see lots of Law Enforcement officers as well as guardsmen. We will have the comfort stations which will have the bathrooms as well as water. The governor encouraged people to make arrangements to evacuate now so there isnt a mad dash to get out of town at the time. Four states have declared a state of emergency. Matthew could reach the mainland by tomorrow night. People from florida up to the carolinas preparing for this dangerous storm, stocking up on supplies. Dwindling food and water and long gas lines mean that shoppers are really preparing for the worst. We are buying canned food and water. Batteries and lanterns and flashlights. Going to get more canned goods and paper goods and stuff like that. At this point its not clear exactly where Hurricane Matthew will make landfall. Several Major Airlines are assisting passengers who are affected by the hurricane. The big name carriers are waiving change fees for customers flying into and out of select airports. Joining us now are meteorologist who has been tracking Hurricane Matthew. Yeah. The storm surge could be on the order of ten to 15 feet. It gives you an idea of how much the water levels are raised. Here is what is happening on the satellite. Math cue a path 3 hurricane with winds of 120 miles per hour. You have been hearing a lot about the uncertainty with the forecast track. We will come in closer and show you. These are the forecast models, the lines. You want to look for the line feed packing thats where you get the most consistent forecast and agreement. As we take a closer look, it is close to the east coast. You can see closer to south carolina. And approaching portions of North Carolina as well. There is still quite a bit of disagreement with the forecast models. The exact track is not a done deal yet. Right now Hurricane Matthew as we mentioned, winds of 120 miles per hour, moving to the northwest at 12 miles per hour. Here is the forecast track from the Hurricane Centers coming closer into thursday. Look at that. Possibly strengthening into a category 4 hurricane with wind speeds going up to 130 miles per hour. And this line, we always say dont focus on the line. Its hard not to because its a red line. This keeps the center just off shore. Reading the discussions, this is friday, saturday and sunday. A little bit of a wobble to the east or west. That can have a huge impact on the eventual impact. That is to be determined what happens with the exact track. The body was found just before 7 00 this morning near the tennison onramp. Theres no word on the identity of the cyclist. Anyone with information about what happened is asked to call Highway Patrol. The search is on for who is responsible forsetting fires in the warm springs area of fleemont. How is the Police Department changing the response procedures because of the investigation. Reporter police really need people to call in some tips that may lead them in the right direction on this case. They are not sure why the warm springs neighborhood is being targeted. But as you can see, this arsonist is setting bushes and trees on fire. So far the fires have been limited to just vegetation and dumpsters. But people who live in the area are worried that the flames will spread to their homes. There have been 15 fires set since mid july. The majority of the fires are happening in the overnight hours. But some have occurred during the day. Officials say the arsonist is tying up resources and putting the community at risk. They started out small. Now the fires have been progressively growing in size and nature. Its been bushes along fences, next to homes. Why does he want to do this . He or she would want to do Something Like this to someone else . Its terrible. Its a terrible feeling. Reporter Fremont Police are working with arson investigators from fremont fire to try to track down the person responsible. So far they do not have a suspect description or a motive. Weve been told every time there is a fire, two Police Officers will respond as well. They have increased patrols in the neighborhood but they really need information from the public. To the north bay where Santa Rosa Police are investigating a Home Invasion robbery with suspects armed with a knife and gun. Police say a man sleeping in a backyard cottage woke up about 3 00 this morning to find two people with ski masks in his bedroom. He was stabbed. A man in the main house was hit in the head with a gun. His dog may have also been stabbed. The suspects ran away. Police have not said what if anything was taken from the home. The creepy clown threats across the country have been popping up on social media, threatening violence at schools in the bay area. The School Administrators say they believe the threats are hoaxes but they are increasing School Security as a precaution. Tion. I dont see any validity to any of them at this time. But all of the schools have been notified. I think the creepy clown is not a unified group of people. I think people are going on social media and seeing it and doing it. I can tell you that i have not physically seen a creepy clown in person. So far none of the clown threats across the country have been credible. As halloween approaches, parents are concerned about a decision to not require sex offenders to not post do not disturb signs on their yards for trickortreaters. It may violate due process and free speech rights and could make them targets for vigilantes. It is supposed to protect young trickortreaters from sex offenders. Offenders. All right. The outlook for the season ahead. A developing story out of belgium where two Police Officers were stabbed today. Now investigators say it may have been terror related. It happened around noon local time when belgium Officials Say a knife wielding man stabbed two officers. Another officer shot the gunman who was then arrested. The suspect has been identified as a 43yearold belgium national. Local media is reporting that one officer was stabbed in the neck and the other in the abdomen. But their injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Police in paris are focusing in on a key witness in the 10 million jewelry heist of Kim Kardashianwest. It is the concierge at the hotel. Kim told police that he led the robbers up into the apartment but he was handcuffed when they opened the door. He was reportedly in the apartment during the robbery and the suspects took him back down to the lobby when they left. Last year unusually warm coastal waters created a toxic plume that delayed it by four months. This years season will begin on november 15th.
