It appears that suspect actually took his own life after his confrontation with police. So, yes, this started at 2 20 this afternoon with a 911 call. A woman arriving for work at the Business Park<\/a> says that her husband had met her as she arrived and had just jumped out of his truck. That he was arguing with her and the at some point went back to his pickup and got a gun and as she tried to make her way away from him literally running down the street she was calling 911 and giving the dispatcher all of the information she could including the background on the previous contact that they had with him and able to give her the cross streets and the building that she was running to and where she was trying to take refuge. So Redwood City Police<\/a> arrived swiftly and when they did they were able to corner him at 220 saginaw and tried to negotiate with him they said. He was waving the gun and ordered to drop it and waved it at himself and pointed it at officers and that is when one arrived and fired a shot. Tame, this suspect shot himself in the face. Police believe it was that self inflicted wound that killed him but they cant be sure that they werent hit by that officers shot. This will be a scene here for a while as this investigation goes on. The mans body is here. The woman, they are both in their 40s. This couple and the woman describes him as her exhusband and earlier just days apart police were called to their home and she was granted an emergency restraining order against him which he then violated so they were able to get a 30day more permanent retraining order and as part of that police went to his home and confiscated all of his weapons or what they thought were all of his weapons. Whether he has acquired more weapons or the weapon used today since then or whether that was there but overlooked we dont know. But she is safe and police are very gratified about that and glad that she kept her wits about her in a frightening situation and able to provide good information to the dispatcher that allowed her to get here and help her and surround him as quickly as possible. At that time the officers confiscated the weapons that were registered to him and took him in for safekeeping, a normal Domestic Violence<\/a> protocol. A look at the scene from sky fox.
