The big impacts, the heavy rain totals as this moisture streams in tonight and tomorrow morning will continue to be mountains of marin county, mountains of santa cruz, boulder creek. Right now were seeing a little bit of a break. Been raining up there for a long time. Theyre getting breaks up there. Heaviest rain now moving down through san jose and those showers, look at the aerial distribution. Its all over the place. From morgan hill up and the yellow areas, pretty aggressive. 2 an inch per hour. Doesnt sound like a lot but it is. Pretty aggressive rainfall rate. You may see an inch an hour. Quarter inch, thats not bad. So

The fact of the matter is a pound of prevention now to prepare for flooding could be tons of problems solved later. Reporter many recently dry creeks are now flowing. Chairman said el nino may soon deliver an unwanted christmas present. Too much water. Three things happening this week. King tides on top of the fact that water levels are already 9 to 12 inches higher because of the warming of the water due to el nino. Then if we get storm surges due to extra rain, you have this potential perfect storm. Reporter the county will be depending on residents to do both their legal obligations and some community service. Most of the creeks in contra costa county, over 95 of the creeks are the responsibility of the private homeowner. You need to get out in to your own creek. That means removing downed trees, dead vegetation. Reporter in that community spirit, cleaning debris from around storm drains and inlets. If you have an inlet in front of your house, we expect you to help us out. We cant be everywhere at every time. We want you to clean the inlets, the leaves off the inlets. That could also include trash or whatever else is clogging the inlets. Reporter be prepared to resist local flooding. There are six sand bag filling stations around the county for residents to access free of charge at each station. Bring a shovel. Bring some gloves. The judge said marquez presents a danger to the community and ordered him held. Marquez could face 35 years in prison if convicted on all charges. Federal authorities are asking for the publics help in finding a man who planted a skimming device at a safeway in walnut creek. A store clerk saw him removing a skimming device from under his jacket and installing it at a checkout stand. The store says it was quickly removed before any consumer data was compromised. Safeway found another skimming device at a store in dublin boulevard in dublin. Investigators say it was installed by another suspect on the same day and they believe the two cases are connected. Raymond shrimp boy chow took the stand today. He was arrested along with state senator leland yee after an interrogation. Tara moriarty joins us with more on what happened on the stand. in san leandro. The violence broke out as people were heading to their cars in the clubs park ing lot. San leandro has been a shooting. Some sort of an altercation occurred between single gunman and a group of four individuals. At that time the gunman pulled a pistol out and shot each of the four people. Reporter three men and a woman were wounded, mostly in their legs and were taken to local hospitals. Theyre expected to survive. The gunmen fled the scene but police were trying to identify him with the help of witnesses and the

If they do catch up to him, the suspect could face charges of assault or attempted murder. Food boxes were distributed to low income families today in san jose. It ways day two of a food giveaway program. 50pound boxes of food were given to each family filled with produce, canned goods and fresh poultry. The boxes are meant to provide enough food for christmas and a few days that kids are off from school. If you can imagine a family that has more than one child, having enough food on the table and having the gifts were going to be distributing tomorrow, a couple gifts each kid can really add up. When youre already struggling to make ends meet, this can really save the day. Sacred heart will be distributing toys tomorrow but is still 5,000 toys short, mostly for teenagers. If they do catch up to him, the suspect could face charges of assault or attempted murder. Food boxes were distributed to low income families today in san jose. It ways day two of a food giveaway program. 50pound boxes of food were given to each family filled with produce, canned goods and fresh poultry. The boxes are meant to provide enough food for christmas and a few days that kids are off from school. Reporter on friday, december 4th, someone stopped and made threats against the men, women, and children who pray here. The most extreme was something along the lines of ill kill you all. Reporter people copied down the mans license plate and called police. Officers arrested 55yearold william selli for the threats after they determined he had post adphoto of the pipe bomb on his facebook page. Its now gone. It prompted us to be worried about what he was capable of. Reporter police found what appeared to be a large pipe bomb, about 4 inches across and a foot long. This person is threatening muslims and its out of hatred he has for muslims. I think youd have to define it as terrorism. Reporter police shut down the street and evacuated surrounding residents. The windshield was smashed. She came to a stop at the paris intersection. And then she like people were punching the window apparently trying to get the child out of the back seat. She accelerated again and kept mowing everyone down. From here to flamingo she wound up hitting i would say anywhere from 30 to 40 people. The driver of the 1996 oldsmobile is in custody. Police are checking her for drugs or alcohol. We intend to file charges immediately. Were going to start off by filing one count of murder with the use of a deadly weapon. The sky tower ride was stuck for about two hours with 50 passengers and two seaworld employees onboard. The ride goes up about 400 feet but it got jammed about 100 feet in to the air. Its a normal situation to take chains. Took about two hours going across donner, across the hill. Reporter for much of the morning the conditions slushy with plenty of rain. Road conditions get really nasty sometimes, especially with this weather. Reporter for a place that hadnt seen much moisture in years, theres now plenty of it and more on the way. Reporter chains are required on interstate 80 from kingvale to truckee and highway 50 from twin bridges to meyers unless you have a fourwheel drive vehicle with snow tires. Homewood resorts said it snowed 5 inches overnight there. The
National Weather<\/a> service is calling for an additional 5 to 9 inches throughout the day. Theres already a great snow base after four straight years of little snow in the area. Forecast calls for at least two more rounds of snow heading in to christmas day. Theres been another extremely rare sighting of a venomous sea snake in california. A dead yellow bellied sea snake washed up in a beach in
Orange County<\/a> over the weekend. Its only the third ever reported in california. All three sightings have also come during el nino years when oceans are warmer than usual. In october a snake washed ashore in oxnard. Prior to that there was a sighting in 1972. Experts say the snakes are venomous but are not dangerous to humans because they cant open their jaws very wide. Lets get the latest in our weather now. When you look at the live cameras, see how hazy and fuzzy the lights are . Thats because that light is being refracted through the raindrops so it you can see it raping pretty good out there. Not exact but it gives you a good idea. Rain falls have been pretty heavy in the north bay. Five inches at mount tam. Pretty significant rain on the west side of the coastal hills. Marin watershed is killing for rainfall. Wood acre, getting a lot of rain. Inverness. Lots of rain. Thats the hot spot right now for rain. Santa cruz mountains, over 4 inches in some places. The rain is going to continue. Santa cruise mountains could see another couple inches in the next few hours. Thats the plume of moisture that continues to stream in to our area and continues to bring heavy rain. Heres whats changed in the last hour and a half. You see the line of showers have drifted south. Were getting breaks up here. Were specifically the marin county area. Ive seen it do this. It can sit up there for 24 hours. It can drop 10, 12 inches of rain in a 24hour period. Looks like this thing has moved through which is great. Its stalled out a little bit in the
Santa Cruz Mountains<\/a> but should keep progressing. It will continue to log in some rain especially south of

Those areas represent rainfall rates of over. 2 an inch an hour which is enough to get you standing water and cause more problems on the road.
