Up with a chance to go to sleep with a world championship, and thats whats going on with the Golden State Warriors right now. Its, unfortunately for them, the second straight game weve been able to say that. If you think of all the championships that the bay area has had, it has been all the way back to the 1974 oakland as that somebody has had a chance to celebrate on a home court or home field. So be careful what you wish for. You never want to say, oh, we hope it comes back here. You want to take care of business when you can, but maybe people can get that opportunity. Yeah, it always a slays me when people thursday and friday of last week were saying, i hope they lose because i want to see them win it on the home court. No, you take it wherever and whenever you can. Right now the Cleveland Cavs on the core. Theres a fellow over there you might recognize. I think we can get a shot of lebron. Hes had a pretty good series, averaging a triple double. Its not just lebron that has impressed me. In the last couple of games kyrie irving has been unbelievable for the cavs in the back court. You know the dynamic of game four was all those three pointers. Kyrie irving had 7 of the 24 that the cavs had, 40 points. Yes, we know that lebron james is the cavs, but it is the other guys. I cant remember a series when it was as starstudded on both sides of the ball, but its been about kyrie irving so far. No questions about it. The warriors have not been able to stop the cavs from getting to the rim, especially in the last couple of games. And kyries ability to close and make it happen at the buck, hes incredible. Its something that steve kerr addressed in his pregame comments. He was brilliant the last two games. Brilliant. And weve got do a little better job on him. But theres only so much can you do against certain guys. So we will try or best with full awareness that he may go for 40 again. Who knows. For the most part you have to live with some of the shots because he has the ball in his hands a lot, and hes such a clever creator of space and a tough shot maker in certain situations. You dont want to let him toe up on the 3point line. Thats another adjustment we want to make. Just make him play in a crowd, thats the biggest thing. Just stay with him for 40 minutes. Over the course of the game you want to make it tough. The unique thing about playoff basketball, the fact that never at another time in the season you will see a team five times in a row, potentially seven times in a row. So its all about adjustments. The warriors are going to say, we cant let the cavs beat us the way they did on friday. Remember in game one how kevin durant was doing all those dunks down the lane because the cavs were headed out. They made an adjustment. It will be interesting to see what the warriors do tonight. A couple of things im looking for in this particular game. One, love draymond green, but i think its time for him to buckle down, dont get into foul trouble. And by the way, draymond, you can commit a foul without throwing your arms everywhere. Lets get serious because game five in this exact situation last year, i think the warriors probably turned in their most lethargic, like do you know you have a a world title at stake here . Perform it. I agree. The fact that there were seven technical fouls on that friday game and one flagrant foul, and theyre slowing the game down to review everything. And that is not the rhythm of basketball. Thats not what the nba wants for its deciding game. It will be interesting to see how the referees take charge. So much talk about the officiating. If you want to do the conspiracy theorist thing, they want the warriors to slow down. So by the officials calling everything, that plays out of the warriors hands, because they thrive on the fast breaks, the pace that tires the opposition out. So im looking to see a game where the referees dont make so much of an impact. Let them play. And if they do i believe the warriors are the superior team. To your point, people do commit fouls, and its not a big act a every single time somebody commits a foul. Exactly. Thats the way we see it out here. Still a couple hours until tip off, what figures to be a crazy night out here at oracle. Were hoping you are right, that the refs stay out of it and let them play and lets get this thing over with and bring home a championship. Fans around the bay area are gearing up for the big game. Some of the lucky ones are heading to oracle to watch that matchup in person. That is where ktvus Jason Appelbaum is. Reporter fans are trickling in, starting to pick up. Just about to open the doors here. Let me tell you, mark and joe, theyre on the court right now. A pair of courtside seats just sold for a record price, 133,000. Those seats normally sell for 3,000, face value. So theyre in some pretty select company down there. But were outside here. I want to show you a video here. This is what it is going to look like in a couple of hours. This is video from game two, fans just going crazy. Obviously the warriors in the first two games, it was a much different story where they blew out the cavs. Game three was a nail biter. We know the warriors shut them down in the last three minutes. Game four the warriors got blown out. But back out here live i want to bring in a couple of fans. Its thaddeus and angie from south San Francisco. First of all, do you guys always dress like this . Well, not this particular shtick, but we have 19 other warriors warmups. We match all the time. This is special for the finals. So give me a breakdown. Whats going to happen tonight . Just give me a breakdown of how this game is going to go. The warriors are going to jump out to a quick lead, hold on to it. Theyre going to make the cavs work. When it comes to the third quarter, theyre going to work even harder. Do you think the refs had an impact in the last game at all . Yes, they had a big effect on that game. But we hung in there, and we did our job that night. So i would say, yeah, they had a big effect on that game. Reporter so if the warriors close it out tonight, 161 in the playoffs, obviously they won 67 games, in your mind, greatest team of all time here . Always. Were always behind the warriors. 100 . Reporter fantastic. Im going to bring in tony over here. How you doing . Reporter this is Tony Mayfield. Tell me about your championship belt here. This is trillion dollar design. Were here at the oracle and everything is going great, so i made a championship belt for both teams. Remember, people ask me why i have this belt. Because theyre the champions. Lets show the folks the warriors belt. This is the warriors. Take a look at this. Just like that. Tony, im going ask you the same thing. How is this series going to play out . Whats going to happen tonight . I think once the fans get into the game, the warriors have the advantage. But when we have some controversy of calls, it takes the warriors out of that. I think the cavs are going to jump on that opportunity. Bottom line this series going seven . This series is going seven. I would belt one of the belts on it. Trillion dollar design. Not a trillion dollars for the belts . We can get it a little comeeper . I can do some 99 belts. Thanks very much. Thank you very much. Thats the story out here, outside oracle arena. Were going to head inside and see what the scene is inside. Hopefully, what, about five hours from now the warriors will be celebrating their second championship in the last three years. Back to you guys. Jason, i think you need to get Tony Mayfield hooked one the couple that bought the 133,000 ringside seats, then they would really after good souvenir from the game tonight. Ill see if they can find them. All kinds of characters out there. Thank you very much jason. Today the attorneys general of maryland and the district of columbia announced a major lawsuit against the president. The two democrats claim the president s continued ownership of the Trump Organization are in violation of the constitution. We are a nation of laws. And no one, including the president of the united states, is above the law. President trump facing legal battle over his private businesses. The attorneys general of maryland and the district of columbia filing suit against the president claiming trump hotels and golf courses are in violation of the constitution. Never in the history of this country have we had a president with these kinds of extensive business entanglements, or a president who refused to adequately distance themselves from their holdings. Reporter the lawsuit says its not clear whether the president is focused on the greater good of america or his finances when making decisions. It claims he is using his status to boost his hotels. Our president must know that a president would orders peoples sons and daughters interest harms way is not acting appropriately. His sons are currently in control of the Trump Organization. The president s interests, as previously discussed, do not violate the amole you the am mole you amolument clause. Today a threejudge panel of the 9th u. S. Circuit court of appeals unanimously upheld an injunction blocking enforcement of the order. The judges say the president violated u. S. Law by failing to show how their entry would hurt u. S. Interests. For more im joined by david levine, professor at u. C. Hastings college of law. Is this a big setback . Another setback. Of course the Fourth Circuit decided that the second executive order was you know constitutional under the establishment clause. What the 9th Circuit Panel did today was got to the same conclusion, which is the president did not follow the authority that Congress Gave him under certain immigration statutes. I would say the key word is findings. That the stat. The 9th Circuit Panel thought that what was written in the executive order did not constitute findings. Crksz maybe, but not adequate factual findings. Reporter so this is separate from the other. He walks that back and said, i didnt really mean that. So now we have two legal versions of what the president is up against in trying to go to the u. S. Supreme court and get this enforced, right . Thats right. Think of it as a pincer movement. The 9th circuit said the president violated the statute in which Congress Gave him authority to act, and that he. The Fourth Circuit said that even if he had followed those requirements, something they actually didnt address, but they said it would violate the establishment cause because the Fourth Circuit looked to the president people. One of the interesting things about the 9th circuit opinion is they barely relied on any tweets. Theres only one in one footnote from last week. But the way the 9th circuit wept, they stuck with the letter of the statute and the esm. To anticipate your next question, why would they do that, the 9th Circuit Panel is trying to win the votes of Justice Kennedy and gorsuch. So theyre looking ahead down the road. Today sean spicer said were confident that the u. S. Supreme court will uphold the president s ban. Should he be confident . Maybe. Heres how we will to. So they asked for expedited review and a stay. A stay takes five votes where as review only takes four votes. We should reel. Now, if the u. S. Supreme court issues an emergency stay against both circuits, that will mean that five justices have been convinced that something is wrong and that the president maybe did not exceed his powers. Have, then i think that confidence is going to prove to be unwarranted. David levine, appreciate your time. Take a look. Yes, you are looking at that right. It is snow in june. Reporter Michelle Chavez has the latest on Court Proceedings from outside the courtroom in norristown, pennsylvania. Reporter the defense rests in the bill cosby trial. Cosbys team finished their case calling just one witness who provided six minutes of testimony. The big question monday was would bill cosby himself take the stand. Testifying would have been a big gamble. It could have allowed him to be more personable to the jury but it would also open him up to potentially damning cross examine testimony. Because he opted not to take the stand the judge in the case asked questions to make sure he knew of his right to testify but cosby was very clear in saying that he was not pressured into his decision. After the defense wrapped up spokesman andrew wyatt praising cosbys defense attorney. They have consistently tried to prevent mr. Cosby from having a fair and impartial trial, but today he was given the trial that he deserved. Reporter Andrea Constand that cosby drugged and molested her in 2000 four. Jurors also heard cosbys version of the incident. Cosbys wife was present for the First Time Since the beginning of this trial. In norristown, pennsylvania, Michelle Chavez, fox news. What does this mean Going Forward . I am joined by attorney ms. Jones. Only one witness was called by cosbys attorney, so do you think that was a mistake or a smart move . Well, we have to remember that it is the prosecutors job to prove the case. And so the defense attorney just has to present a sufficient amount of information to cause that reasonable doubt. And so everyone is always looking forward to what the defense is going to present. If they only presented one witness, that means they had no additional evidence that was going to support their case, and that has to be a strategic move. What about cosby himself . Do you think maybe he could have helped if he testified in his own defense . You know, a defense witness has to have some really strong information that only they can bring in order to take the risk of placing a defendant on the stand. And the reason why is because of questions that the prosecution may ask them can bring up a whole other host of issues, and a simple wrong response that challenges some of the persons veracity will allow the prosecutor to open the door on a lot of other issues that may initially be kept out. So usually you try to keep the defendant from taking the stand. Understood. We were just looking at video of cosby with his wife on his arm. She appeared for the first time in court. Do you think that will have any impact on the jury in terms of emotion . Absolutely. So people want to know whether or not his wife is sticking by his side. Weve heard reports of it, but without seeing her, would it give a juror reason to speculate that maybe if his wife isnt there, then that means she doesnt support him. If she doesnt support him, then he may in fact be guilty. Its definitely a strategic move, not only in bringing her there but how she got there. How soon do you think a jury will reach a verdict . I definitely think the jury will be deliberating for a number of days. They are sequestered so many jurors will want to rush through this so they can get home. However, its too difficult to give an actual prediction. We know the state put up a very strong case but the defense spent a lot of time poking holes in the testimony. So the jury will probably be work on this for a couple of days before they come back either as a hung trial, or with a decision to find guilt or innocence. We will wait and see.
