I understand the Police Officers association is getting together and trying to determine the best thing for them to do moving forward but im hearing that they are outraged by what has transpired in the last couple of weeks that this reflects negatively on the entire department when really it is a few officers that engaged in this kind of conduct that is abhorrent but at the same time they feel that the department is suffering and finding a chief that can come in and kind of right the ship and put it back on course is difficult. We look at what are the cultural biases and try to fix them. Men and women have those biases. Women can be guilty as well if they are in a senior position over other women. At any level, we have biases that we bring with us to the workplace. And so that is why it is good to have different view points. How do you try to overcome it and what is the group doing to get women promoted to higher progresses . One of the things is impressive women visibility and we honor a woman and we are doing it with debbie kasmer this year and we bring them together and honor this person who provides inspiration and we have done this year after year and we provide scholarships and pair them with mentors so they are tied to someone who is at a senior level that can help them make decisions and move ahead. I am guessing they can be sympathetic to women coming to them with loans because there may be parents working and trying to take care of the family and it may not be easy to get a loan.
