The two Police Officers shot during a police chase in fremont last week, the good news, they are improving. The officer with the most critical injuries is not listed as critical and improving. The second officer continues to improve. Now last week the two officers were involved in a gun battle with this man here. 44yearold gerald villabrille. He led police on an all day manhunt and found dead inside the fremont home where he barricaded himself. The Coroners Office says he died from a selfinflicted gunshot wound. A woman with a stolen ambulance led them to treasure island. She stole it in front of the Ambassador Hotel at 8 00 this morning. While the ambulance crew was treating another woman inside. The driver took that ambulance through city streets right onto the bay bridge. The police say the woman lost control as he took that buena exit and wound up stuck on the guardrail and the ambulance caught fire then. Investigators are trying to figure out how the woman was able to steal the ambulance. Even though the ambulance is on, it gets turned on and the keys get taken out and the ambulance stays on and locks up. How to this occurred and whether the ambulance crew did this procedure, if they had it turned out or if the ambulance was unlocked, we dont know and thats part of the investigation. The woman behind the wheel was not hurt and eventually taken to custody. Authorities are not sure why she took that ambulance and they also say it is possible she was just trying to get her hand on drugs in the rig but the Fire Department says that medications are kept in a secure lockbox on board. It is cool because it is a stand alone camera and an alarm and siren and motion detector and night vision. Com and it is good and so loud that there is no way you can turn it off without the app. And you wont sleep through it. No way. It is so loud.
