Rendon. Officer dampen wilson has resigned from the Police Officer. Darren wilson shot and killed Michael Brown in august. The resignation is effective immediately. It follows the grand jurys decision not to pursue criminal charges against wilson for the shooting. He fears for his life. Mondays decision is sparking protests nationwide. Last night, things turned violent in San Francisco. Several businesses were damaged and Police Officers were injured. Ktvu channel 2 news john sasaki joins us from union square. John . Reporter it may be pretty now, but San Francisco is battered and bruised. A peaceful protest turned into mob scene. It is the season for people to flood San Franciscos union square. Last night, many shoppers came face to face with many protesters. There where a handful with their black masks. Reporter karen is a volunteer helping with the animals in the macys windows. She watched the protests turn ugly. I was nervous, i was scared i. Wasnt sure the direction they were going to take. It was so random and there was so much anger behind it. Reporter they never came near her windows which is good. She would have stopped them. I was prepared. They are helpless animals. It is scary. Reporter at grace jewelry, the protesters tried the get inside breaking several windows instead. It is supposed to be a good day. It is supposed to be a good day. Yes. But yesterday, we lost a lot of money. Reporter the worst damage was at creighton barrel where several windows were smashed. They locked the front doors. They got all of the Sales Associates and customers to a safe place back of house and worked with the Building Security to use an alternative exit. Reporter much like this, westfield mall was locked down to keep protesters out. More video from youtube shot inside the protests show officers being hit with a thrown traffic barricade. Those who coopt meaningful demonstrations to vandalize and loot disrespect Michael Brown and diminish the voices we need to heard. Those responsible will be held accountable and prosecuted. In oakland, walmart set the scene for protesters angry with the low wages and ferguson. Protesters are asking for a continued boycott of walmart. They say walmart is keeping people under the poverty line. Walmart pays a large sum of money out of the annual 14 billion budget to support Police Terrorism and policing agencies, Police Athletic leagues and such. Reporter protesters are asking people to shop locally or other retailers who support inner city community. In ferguson, people are marching in Jefferson City at the governors mansion. Marchers dont agree with the grand jury decision not to indict Darren Wilson for the shooting death of Michael Brown. Organizers of the march are calling for a new leadership in ferguson and for Police Reforms across the country. Amid all the protests, we are getting a reminder of the power of human kindness. Not as much in the north bay as the south bay. Scattered showers developing now. You can see up in the north bay. More organized activity around novato, highway 37, also, closer to sonoma. This is moving quickly to the north and the east. More scattered rain showers and parts of the east bay right now toward danville and livermore. As you can see. Just to the south of gilroy, and 101. Some more rain showers to talk about. We have another system developing to the south and the west. This will be the source of some more rainfall later onto night. That is our next system. We have new information tonight on the shooting death of an oakland man. Police released two sketches as persons of interest. The first is black mixed race. Early 30s with a thin build. The second man black six feet tall with a stocky build. The victim david runzuel was gunned down while hiking at huckleberry reserve. The San Francisco Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire on treasure island. The flames broke out shortly before 10 30 this morning inside an old Bowling Alley on avenue i near 9th street. Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames. No one was hurt. That building has been vacant for years. New at 6 00, a tearful reunion today as a mother hugged her 13yearold son after the boy was allegedly held captive by his father for four years. Police in georgia say they were called to a home in Clayton County yesterday after the boy downloaded a phone app and called his mother in florida. He said told his mother he was being held by his father, beaten and abused. When police went to the house, they denied the boy was there. Then police returned to the home and found the boy hidden behind a wall panel in the back of a linen closet. Neighbors say the boy played outside. The young man didnt seem to be in any distress or anything. The boy was visiting his father in 2010 when the father refused to return him. The mother reported the child missing but not to police. Maybe because she is an immigrant unfamiliar with the system. Shoppers got their way today as they searched local stores for Small Business saturday. Shops offered free gift wrapping. When i got there, it was already too late. Reporter arlons wife melissa and their two daughters were devastated. He was such a caring man. He loved his brother. And our children. And his mom. And my family. We were all very close. Reporter they were installing glass on highrise buildings. The brothers had plans to retire together. When i heard it, i knew something was wrong. I could see him down there. I ran down there, and held him. Told him i loved him. Reporter the family says the accident happened in an area where they have seen many people cross the street despite this sign. The driver stopped and is cooperating with police. I feel for her a little bit, too. You know. It just happened to work out that way. Reporter the family hopes lights or crosswalks can be installed here to spare another family. The Higher Elevations could see up to a foot of snow from the storms and the snow wont let up until sunday night. But there is a downside to all of us. Winds are expected to be an issue. Caltrans is working overtime trying to make sure the roads are clear for drivers. This is what i80 at donor lake looked like earlier today. Plenty of snow on the sides of the road. Wet roads generally, but traffic was going at the limit. Caltrans has no restricts now for i80 or highway 50. But you should be prepared with chains or snow tires if you are headed up to the sierra because a snow is expected tonight. Looks like it will be a good weekend for skiers and boarders. So this is a series of storms tracking over the next few days. A rainy pattern with a significant first one moving in today. Next one moves in for tomorrow. Next system sunday morning. A stronger storm, that is one we have to keep our eye on for tuesday and wednesday morning. Rainfall expectations including the system that moved through yesterday throughout the entire week, really adding up in the coastal hills. Three to six inches. Most areas about an inchanda half to three inches. Here is the overall story. The next system to the south and the west right now, monday, there is a chance of a shower, but overall, that will be the break day. That sets up this guy. This tuesday system. That will be the strongest in the series. Tomorrow, here is what is happening. Rain expected early sunday morning. We are going to add a quarter of an inch to possibly another inch across parts of the bay area. Heres the forecast model shows an increase in the Rain Coverage tonight and early tomorrow morning. The first wave moves on shore at 8 00 and spreads inland. By 4 00 sunday, we will scale back in the coverage and the intensity. Heard about the sierra and that Winter Weather advisory in place. Another round of snow expected as we head into sunday. 7 00 p. M. Sunday. An additional four to eight inches expedestrianed and snow levels 6,000 feet. A lot of people headed back from the mountains and we are expecking travel delays. Forecast, upper 50s to lower 60s. We are expecting a lot of rain early sunday. Morning rain, scattered showers into sunday and then monday, mostly cloudy. Still a chance of a shower, but the strongest system im thinking in the series will be on tuesday. That is when we could have some minor flooding. Urban and small street flood advisories and gusty winds. This is finally what late November December should look like here.
