Good evening, everyone. A manhunt underway after a San FranciscoPolice Officer was shot and wounded during some kind of a confrontation in the citys mission district. This is a live view in daily city where a vehicle believed to be used in the shooting was found abandoned. Police officers have closed several streets, including the area around the mall as they continue their search for the gunman. You can see the locations where the police are investigating. Theyre searching for the shooter near interstate 280 and daily city, where the car was found, but the shooting was around florida street, not far from the hospital. Thats where we find patty. Reporter were live on florida street. You can see its still blocked off, and just down the street is where the 28yearold officer was shot around 3 this afternoon. Were told that he and his partner were responding to a call about malicious mischief. Heres what a witness saw. We were just sitting on the stairs and i heard four or five shots go off. Reporter there was a squad car. I saw blood on the squad car and a policeman down right by the rear drivers side tire holding on and blood coming out. Reporter within minutes the San Francisco neighborhood was warming with officers, but its not the only crime scene. Officers had tracked the suspects. Streets still blocked off in the area as investigators from all over the bay area tracked down their suspect. In the middle of this manhunt we have the officer just down the street at San FranciscoGeneral Hospital undergoing surgery as we speak. The chief says its a miracle that he survived this close range shot. He credits the Fast Response by the Fire Department and other officers for saving this officers life. Our crew just got back from that hospital, and the police chief gave this update on the officers condition. He was stabilized and conscious before taken into surgery to repair a vascular injury to his left shoulder, but he should be okay. Weep keep posting updates on twitter, facebook and the website. A Malaysia Airlines jet disappeared with 239 people onboard. Its been an intense and emotional wait for any information. The u. S. State Department Says three americans are among the 239 people missing. According to an unofficial passenger list, we have the names now. Reporter the search for Malaysia Flight continues. Were focusing on the area where we received the last signal from the plane. The 239 people onboard seemingly vanishing into the predawn sky, including three americans, one adult and two children. Rescue crews following two large oil slicks near the gulf of thailand where they believe the plane may have gone into the water. The u. S. Navy has agreed to assist in search operations. The vessel is a navy vessel that is sent out to help search. Meanwhile family and friends of those onboard can do nothing but wait. Some people are crying, some people checking information on their phones. Theres nothing in these rooms except for water and bread. Several agencies reporting that two of the passengers onboard may have been traveling on stolen passports from italy and austria. More details. The deadly crash of another airline at San Francisco also involved the 777, but pilot error was blamed on that accident that killed three people in july. Oakland police are investigating a deadly car crash. The victims family tells us it was a hitandrun. It happened at about 11 30 this morning near 98th and plymouth street. Police reported that one person died at the scene and at least one other person was injured. The family says a 38yearold was the one killed. Fire investigators are trying to determine what caused a deadly house fire that broke out just before 2 00 this morning. So far no word on the identity of the person killed.
