"paul quade/defense attorney: "if the state hasn't show you that cody wallace intentionally inflicted child abuse on tom tom, you can't find felony murder." "these injures are too widespread, too massive, too serious to happen from a normal fall." cody wallace was arrested in with the death of thomas o'connell "the fourth" in november of that year. reno police are looking for two men involved in a home invasion near reno high school. let's show you where it happened yesterday on our pinpoint map. police responded to foster drive - for a possible burglary in progress. there... they found an elderly man injured inside a home. he was hosptialized with non-life threatening injuries. police are looking for a white car with a black stripe on the driver's side, a sunroof, and a spoiler. the suspects are being described as light-skinned black or hispanic men. one is about 6 feet with a thin build...the other is 5-foot-8 with a heavy build and a tattoo on one arm. police believe they are connected to other burglaries in the area. if you have any information that can help police, contact them or secret witness at 3-2-2-4900 and sparks police are looking for two suspects who stole an the theft happened at greg street and spice island drive... around 4-30 p-m. the victim told police she was hit from behind by another car. she got out to check the damage, and when she turned around a man was in her s-u-v. after demanding money ... he left in her vehicle. the man was white, in his 30s, with a bald head and tattoos near his left ear and on both arms. the driver of the other car, who also fled the scene... is a white woman in her 30s... with blond hair. she was driving an early 90s dark green g-m-c or chevy yukon... with a u-n-r sticker on the back window. if you have any informaton that can help police... call or text secret witness. "now here's mike alger's first look at the pinpoint 2 forecast" it still doesn't look like there's much of a chance of any showers as we go through the weekend. temperatures will spike on friday ahead of a weak cold front which will kick up some brisk winds in the afternoon, but most of will likely stay to the north of the reno area. temperatures will drop saturday into the low 60s and will fall a bit more into the upper 50s on monday as another weak cold front passes thanks mike. along with warmer weather comes allergy season. this year will be a little bit different than years past - due to more snow and cold weather. angela schilling joins us live from southeast reno with more. angela? kristen, a sign of a good allergy season or a low pollen count would be if we still had snow on the valley floor. while our lawns are dry here in reno, there is still a decent amount of snow up at mt. rose and other ski resorts. so the allergy forecast this year is not quite as early or straight forward as last year. lots of people will probably be getting allergy shots in the months to come. dr. lokshin is one of those people. dr. lockshon: "the counts will escalate rapidly and so far just starting." dr. lockshin knows alot about dr. lockshin: "right now looking at the pollen count, it just came up. not only do we have juniper but we have deciduous trees. i see forty five percent elm, twenty two percent ash, and sixteen percent maple." this puts us in the medium category for trees. so far, no sighn of weeds or grass allergies. dr. lockshin: "we didn't have that many problems with allergies until now pretty much." dr. lockshin: "juniper is the first plant to bloom here." wendy hanson mazet is a master gardener and knows alot about plants. wendy hanson mazet: "we do not have enough moisture yet but we've gotten some moisture so one of the things that we're seeing in landscape right now is there's on a normal routine right now, and they're on a time clock that is appropriate." unlike last year where lots of trees and plants were already blooming in february. this year will be closer to average but not one hundred percent. wendy hanson mazet: "this year if we stay on a normal path we're going to to be dry, things will start blooming, start getting winds, and people will start having bad allergies and it's not only the pollen in reno we have to be worried about. wendy hanson mazet: "when a storm comes in, depending on where the wind is coming from, you're dealing with allergens the warm up and weeds and are already growing and blooming in california." so while we're getting a taste of it already in reno, the brunt of it is just around the corner in the months to come. the allergy forecast keeps pollen in the medium category through the weekend. covering the story live in reno, angela schilling, channel two news. john: "welcome to reno's 'tower of tranquility.' what do you think, is the best spa in reno? i'm john potter, we'll show you what one national award says, coming up." ky- "teachers arne't the only ones with tremendous impact on students. im ky sisson part two of our series on social and emotional learning is coming up." "you're watching channel 2 news... with kristen remington, yesterday, we told you about how the washoe county schol district is being nationally recognized for their social and emotional learning program. and today we're talking about how this curriculum doesn't just effect students, but the entire school community. ky sisson reports. when it comes to the integration of teaching life skills such as empthay, managing stress, and dealing with adversity in washoe county schools... social and emotional learning isn't only integrated in the class room. from custodian. to secretary. to principal. the school district requires sel training for all 8,000 staff members. this what tells what self awareness is. toni rader is a professional learning cordinator for the washoe county school district and trains staff members on social and emotional learning. she says that this training teaches practical skills for staff members to use such as how to develop relationships that students can emulate. rader- "some of these people, these custodial staff and secretarys these are the people that our students develop the strongest relationships with." and that is just the case at lemmon valley elementary school. head facilities manager and soccer coach, juan velasquez is probably the most popular guy on the playground. velasquez- "how to approach, not just come, what's going on, no you go through those steps that they show you, its been helping me a lot all this training they've been giving me." principal denise hausauer of damonte ranch high school is educators from around the country today on the importance of teaching social and emotional learning in all aspects of the school. hausauer- "it becomes something where students see that it is real and it does exist in our community." and they become much stronger citizens for the community." with all of these resources being poured into total integration of sel in washoe county schools, how is it all being paid for?
