when you think live tv, you think five trucks and satellite dishes. but it's got to be a lot more technologically advanced. how is it being done? >> well, old guys like myself, a shawn, think about the old -- we think about the satellite trucks, et cetera. but the interesting thing is that we are actually going to be using technology that's never been used before. in getting all this in real we'll have six teams across the country with multiple cameras across the country, all coming in, and we're going to have -- the production team inside the control room has to decide, do we want to good here or there? we'll try to move around quite a bit. amongst these police departments, depending on where the most interesting activity >> shawn: obviously this can have a social media aspect. a lot of people talking about the show. >> oh, yeah. from a social media perspective, what you really want, and what i'm hoping, is are that people who are watching it are going to be say, did you see this? did you see this show? where they're following police departments, real-time? there was this amazing moment where this happened, or even maybe they'll be sharing more mundane observations, such as i didn't know when police pull someone over they have to have a reason, probable cause to be able to search their car. there's a whole range of possibilities here, but i do think it's going to lead to a national discussion or add to the national discussion about policing. >> shawn: absolutely. we're looking forward to the show, dan, congratulations on running. >> thank you. >> shawn: this friday, 9:00 p.m. on the a a+e network. >> jj: thank you, shawn. on the subject beautiful skin, heard of microneedling? using needling to stimulate collagen and improving your appearance. here to tell us about it is sarah and co-owner of phaze laser med spa, and assistant manager jessica valencia. >> thank you. good morning. >> jj: let's talk about microneedling. >> microneedling is teeny, tiny needles, 11 needles, and you push the skin slightly, and this triggers the collagen and remodeling. this happens every time we get a cut. we take it for granted because the bodily instantly, immediately starts healing, so this technology is so great because the body is doing most of the work. we're just going to go ahead and slightly puncture it to trigger the body so the body does the rest of the work. >> jj: it's interesting. when you first hear about using a needle to puncture the skin, sounds aggressive. however, this is -- the technique has been used for a long time. and kind of stimulating the skin and asking it to regrow itself can really repair areas that night not otherwise be repaired such as acne. >> like acne scarring, and a huge one is stretch marks. they're into difficult to treat with creams or other procedures with something like collagen to start reproducing and it helps the appearance of the stretchmarks. >> jj: stretchmarks is a big one. a hard thing to treat and have any effect upon. jessica, you're hands on with the clients. what have your been hearing about and it who it serves. >> what is great about microneedling, we can treat any skin type, any ethnicity, treat any people, we're treating acne scarring, any age group, treating stretchmarks, and scars from document. so, anyone can benefit from this, and like sarah was saying, it's about what we're doing and also about your skin healing and causing that collagen to -- triggering that collagen to see a difference in things like stretchmarks and scars. >> jj: so interesting. we should go to the before and afters we have. there are some great examples of people's individualized results. >> here we're looking at acne. so you can see we have a little bit of acne on the cheek. here's after two treatments you can see significant results. just depends on your case and the severity. if you have very minimal acne scarring it's gng sessions. here we have somebody with a little more trouble with the skin. this is after three treatments you still see a very significant reduction in the scars. >> jj: i'm noticing two things. i think what is interesting about microneedling, it can repair different problems. so, we saw a huge reduction of also pock marks. >> right now something we haven't touched on a lot is ankles. obviously this is great for fine lines and wrinkles as well. >> jj: this is a personal -- can we go back to those lips we showed on the to photos? thank you. can we hold on that for a second? is this a reduction in the lines around the mouth? >> that's correct. >> jj: this is a big one for ladies. >> part is the skin producing that collagen, and so collagen allows for us to -- for the skin to be able to rejuvenate on its own. >> with the wrinkles we have lost volume in the space. >> jj: collagen is a topic of great discussion. you can't talk about facials or wrinkles or anything without talking about collagen right now. so this is a way to stimulate hey, repair this area. >> exactly. >> jj: tell me about -- i think stretchmarks are very interesting topic. so, microneedling is not just useful on the face. we saw the results on the face but tell me about the results on the body. >> we can use it anywhere. a lot of women have stretchmarks on the hips, on the buttocks, on the breasts, upper body, arms, anywhere you have stretchmarks or scar issues we can treat. >> jj: how many with stretchmarks? >> across the lower abdomen, yes. >> helps with the color of the stretchmark, the depth of the stretchmark, helps across the board. >> we can treat people that have minor trauma to the skin and someone who has more severe because we can control the study. if you have minimal scarring or stretchmarks, fine lines and trauma to the skip. we go a little deeper in there and we're able to produce the collagen. >> jj: so you're dealing with each person individually. >> correct. >> jj: and trying to achieve the results they want. multiple treatments involved in microneedling. people should expect to come back for a few visits to get the results they need. >> right. a few treatments. you'll see a difference in your first treatment. your skin is going to start healing as soon as you have the procedure and just going to improve from there. going to see more improvement. >> jj: you're giving me some ideas. a few things i'd like to fix. i have some scars before my lip that have always bothered me. >> everybody does. >> jj: you guys are also offering a special tied for "the blend" viewers. tell us. >> the first 20 callers get 20% off their first treatment, and complimentary consultation. >> jj: the consult is key. come in and hang out with these ladies and get a consult. be one of the first 20 callers to call the number on your screen and receive 20% off your first treatment of microneedling. phaze laser is in village square. for more information call the number or visit the web site on your screen. are you on facebook or twitter? you can find us at vegas morning blend. >> shawn: back to "the morning blend." does your home need major repairs? you need to sell quickly for cash? here to show you how to buy your home with cash. what types of homes are you buying from sellers? how does this whole thing work? >> i usually buy unwanted homes that sellers need to sell quickly. generally the homes need massive repairs and the seller is facing a hardship. a good example is divorce, relocation, job loss, inherited a home due to a family member passing on. >> shawn: just want to cut their losses. >> right, need to get out kick. >> shawn: why choose this? >> the ohms i buy need thousands of dollars of repairs and the seller can't fix them. so an investor like myself can come in and afford to buy those back on the market for sale. getting a loan for these type of properties is challenging, if not impossible and most home buyers don't want to buy these homes and can't. so, that's where a real estate investor like myself is beneficial to come in and buy the home for cash. >> shawn: you do go in there and fix it up. >> yes. >> shawn: you have the money and don't have to worry about the lender saying you have to get this and this fixed. you're paying in >> right. >> shawn: does the seller have to pay real estate commission? >> there's no real estate commission on the homes i buy and i pay all the seller closing costs. >> shawn: just a two-part purchase. >> that's right. >> shawn: holiday fast can you purchase a property? a lot of people need it like yesterday. >> i've actually purchased homes in three days before. >> shawn: no kidding. what's the average? >> really depends on every situation. unique, but if the seller needs to close quickly i have the ability to do so. so it's based on the seller's situation and their time frame, not mine. so we make sure that we're answering the needs of the sellers. >> shawn: of course. if a home owner is watching and wondering whether or not they should sell, perhaps sell the home for cash, what's the process? >> the best way is to call my office for no obligation cash offer. i have a three-step the first step is giving me a call at my office, and we'll do an evaluation, make you a cash offer elm second step is to go ahead and agree upon a purchase price, sign a purchase agreement, and the third step is then go ahead and close the sale at a third-party title and escrow company so you can get your cash profit. a lot of home owns might be afraid they won't get the cash. so everything is done through a title and escrow company, and >> like the typical purchase, have to sign the mortgage stuff, at least for you. i can assume a home owners that are using the program are thankful this exists. if you need it yesterday, trying to sell it the old-fashioned method, having to get things repaired, that can take eons. >> it can. one situation we had a gentleman who had cancer and needed to move very quicklily back -- very quickly back to chicago and the home was in disrepair, a lot belongings on the property, and i told him, we can make this very easy for you. we'll buy your home. we don't care about the condition. don't have to make any fixups, no repairs, and we'll give you the cash. we actually did close that one in three days and he was able to move on, get his treatment. he left the belongings he didn't want. i told him to leave them and we'll go ahead and take care of them for you. and he was just able to take what he wanted, leave the rest, happy. just closed on the property yesterday. >> shawn: wow. you already the have the sumpter. >> we closed on the sale,. >> shawn: oh, wow. you're fast. if you want to sell your home for cash, lathe guy. up next, meet patrick and pixie. two adorable, mother and son looking for a forever home. >> jj: later tonight a group of musicians coming together for a halloween bash. great music, drinks, and thousands of dollars in prize money is up for grabs, for your awesome halloween costumes, get we've learned a lot about how joe heck works. follow the money. he called nevada's foreclosure crisis a "blip" and took almost $700,000 from wall street, including some of the same banks who caused the crisis. and then there's money he's taken from payday lenders who charge 521% interest. heck co-sponsored legislation protecting their predatory practices. add it all up, and joe heck is working for corporate special interests. and that doesn't work for nevada. senate majority pac is responsible for the content >> jj: it's thursday and that means it's time for our pick of the litter sponsored by most mattress. meet this mother and son duo, patrick and pixie. they're in need of a family that will take them in together. their story is kathy junking, president of the nspca, a no-kill nail shelter and also with us, spry, young, great having you back. >> thank you. >> shawn: let's talk about patrick and pixie. they're so cute. dressed up for halloween. >> we thought you brought you i have patrick and he has hixie. >> pixie dressed at a dragon. if you adopt these dogs you so remainer in. this is piffles. >> jj: oh, yeah. you would like them to be adopted together and you insist they have to have a home together. >> they're a bonded pair. one can't be without the other. patrick is a little skittish, not bitey once he gets to know you but a little n this one there are no words. >> jj: lance, you're such an animal lover. >> i love animals and the nevada spca, the big poker tournament is coming up. jennifer harman sponsors the tournament, november 11th. >> november 11th. >> the third year'll be there playing poker and a bunch of other celebrities from las vegas nevada spca to keep animals like this together and find them new homes. >> shawn: we want to say, for example, hour our home their home. >> come down to the sanctuary. bring your dog so everybody gets along in a controlled environment. it's awful even if a they come e and they have to come back. sometimes you go home with >> jj: patrick and pixie are chihuahua. >> yes, today they're dinosaurs but -- >> jj: they are in halloween costumes because you want to talk about halloween and pet safety. >> yes. halloween is on monday and everybody enjoys little kids coming to the front door. it's ideal, as cute to have your dogs dressed up in costumes, when kids are in makeup and >> shawn: frightens me. >> absolutely. so keep your dog in a safe area. if you have outdoor cats, keep them inside and that way everybody is safe. no accidents for the kids or your dogs. >> shawn: once the door closes, you'll steel your kids' candy anyway. so drop the snickers on the ground, that's poison for the dogs. >> absolutely. dogs should not have chocolate at all, and a lot of raisins and grapes. >> jj: i believe garlic is not good. >> no. onions. watermelon is great for dogs. carrots are very good. >> can i take one of these? >> absolutely. >> jj: hi, baby. >> shawn: once you adopt a dog that you saw or dogs right here complimentary dog bed courtesy of best mattress and when we adopt pairs they give one for each dog. you can put one in a spare bedroom and day. >> jj: you need a baby-sitter,. >> shawn: there you go. when you foster and get a sick animal, and you nurse them, and then it's such a bonding time. and you bond with them. you're having events throughout the year. >> it's incredible,. >> i love going down to the shelter, seeing the animals and when i have friends looking for animals, i always say, come on, i'll meet you at the shelter. >> shawn: ever seen a day goof? >> a what? >> jj: yes. >> shawn: i heard about them for years. >> a little teeny tiny kind of rodent. >> they have birds -- >> i'll bring one. >> shawn: people need to see one. >> a pig one time. >> jj: really? >> yes, pigs now. next time we have an alpaca, we'll bring it. >> shawn: are these pigs that were purchased because they were a pig will stay small, they want tote sell it. >> jj: a pig will keep growing as long as you feed it. >> shawn: quickly. >> tesla went home. >> jj: lance, you would -- she would have licked your face. >> thank you so much. >> thank you. >> shawn: you like to adopt patrick and pixie go down to the shelter. the phone number is on your screen. >> jj: if you adopt them you get a complimentary dog bed from best mattress. they're a sponsor of the "the morning blend" and also the sponsor of the sleep tip of the day which we feature every monday. and. >> shawn: you can find so many great stories what makes the valley a great place to live. i'm catherine cortez masto and i approve this message. i don't know what i said, ahh, i don't remember. narrator: and joe heck says i have "high hopes we'll see donald trump become president." trump: you know, you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever. narrator: heck says he "completely supports" trump. i love war in a certain way. narrator: and heck? reporter: do you trust him having his finger on the nuclear button? heck: i do. reporter: why do you say that? heck: why wouldn't i? narrator: donald trump and joe heck. >> jj: losing a spouse, it's not something we like to think about. but if you nearing retirement or in retirement, it's absolutely critical for you to prepare here to happen us do that are abe ashton and nick strobelt, and they join us constantly on the blend. they're known at the retirement brothers. you're here to educate us on the matters of retirement so welcome back. >> always fun to end the show on a high note. we have magicians, facials, now >> shawn: this is not by choice. >> we'll go first live. 20 miles down a dirt road. >> shawn: this a time in the person's life, the surviving spouse is financially defatted. >> one of the most important parts of our job. taking care of the clients and every week we have someone who comes in, folks close to a slow retirement and whether it's a surprise or old age, this is something that is coming, and as you know men tend to die first. women should have some time away from us. only fair. the point is, this first step, surviving spouses, is making continue on. right? and a lot of people were surprised how many will come in and don't know if they have survival benefit for thunder pension or how much social excuse will continue on or generating income after the death of the spouse. so that's a big part of the plan. >> shawn: you have seen examples another this. >> we have people come in and don't have any idea. we joke about it for a second but you almost have to have a little levity in the conversation for people to talk about this important step. but how often do you gout out on a date and say, honey, we're going to talk about -- nobody wants to do that. >> shawn: ain't inevitability. >> and has to be discussed. so sometimes the easiest thing to do is sit with nick and i and have somebody else at the table to have that conversation with you. that way you're not thinking about, you're going to be gone >> jj: the planning is so important. my mom is in that phase of life. my dad passed away four years ago but you can't account for the emotional intensity of losing a spouse also. so, it makes it harder to deal with financial matters. >> all happens at the same time. when the spouse dies, you're faced with financial decisions you have to make right away and dealing with emotion and it's an impossible situation. so people we have seen have the most success in that scenario, have some preparation, they knew where their bank accounts were and knew the passwords to get into baitic accounts, and those basic things are so important to both to be on the same page. >> when it comes to life insurance, what do you do there? >> we have some. >> the long answer or the short answer. when we tuck about life insurance, the goal is to self-insure and not pay a premium but if it's important for you to replace an income. you chose to have a benefit for your pension income, assuming you had a pension. right? >> hilarious. >> let's say you had a pension and chose no survivor benefit for your spouse. it would be important for you to use some of that income to pay for whole life insurance policy to make sure there's a chunk of money at your death to the income that your spouse will not get from your pension. some people do that because if they said, you're going to get $2,500 a amongst with a pension if you have a full survivor benefit but $3,000 a month benefit if you have no survivor benefit for your spouse. and so take that $500 difference and buy a life insurance policy which covers the survival benefit for the spouse. we can show the people the numbers, how much life insurance spouse survivor benefit. >> shawn: and shouldn't be preparing to hit the lottery when your spouse dies. i'm going to make millions. >> if you're a woman and your husband dies, every woman hits the lottery. right? >> jj: my goodness. >> no. the point is you can't plan on those things and win you're in the emotional state, have the death that just occurred, if you already made those decisions on the front end when you're ability to mourn and grieve and be with family that much easier. >> shawn: the final gift you can give your loved one. >> cooperate have said it better. >> can i get the copyright department. >> shawn: you have a special offer. >> we do. if have no idea what it is. so special, that nick is in charge of it. >> a consultation. if you have questions and want to get present for -- get prepared for retirement, call with you and do a complimentary consultation and show you the steps successful retirees have done. >> you have the confidence you know what your benefits are. >> jj: real quick, abe. you hand a marathon. what -- >> thank you for that. >> jj: what was the most difficult mile? >> 23. mile 23 and 24. that's when if hated everyone around me. >> shawn: i'm glad you're not running anymore. >> jj: thank you, guys. >> shawn: with what we talked about today, resonated with you, take action now. it's going to happen to all of us so make sure you get prepared for the potential loss of yourself or a spouse. call the number on the screen to take advantage of their offer. anyone who calls right now will receive a complimentary consultation and you can american lower about visiting their web site. >> jj: this show's gone to the dogs. it's going to be an exciting halloween weekend in the valley. several shows on the strip have gone dark but one of the newest production has hit numbers. norm clarke is here. hi, norm. >> herding cats. >> jj: who have you brought today? >> this is rumor and scandal making their annual halloween appearance. and given that it's a lot of party animals in town this weekend for halloween weekend, we dressed them up. rumor is a little frisky today. >> shawn: rumor is smelling the >> wow. >> jj: lance burton was here and is an annual lover. >> shawn: a huge party this halloween. >> the trends are pok?mon go and the presidential candidates will be big. >> jj: the costume trends. >> yes. i brought these guys in because rumor -- halloween is such a big deal for him because he hates birds, certain kind of bird. >> jj: what do you mean? >> what happens here. >> jj: you don't -- while you get that work out, the other costume that is popular is ken bone. mustache i could be him in a minute. >> jj: we can draw one on you. are you going to dress up? >> shawn: i'm not sure yet. what's happening? what's happening for halloween? >> so, i know that oktoberfest is going to get -- at the hoffbrau house and there's going to be all sorts of things and i wanted to tell the story about this guy. some your viewers familiar with his hatred of a certain bird. what is the name of that bird you don't like? a certain bird during oktoberfest you don't like? you hate that song? da da da da da da da da da. [barking] >> every year. once the got the dancing chicken. >> jj: huh hates them? >> we put it out and cranked it up and it started flapping his wings and the flew across the room and ripped a wing off. don't knee where -- don't know where that comes from. da da da da. [barking] there, >> shawn: here's the thing. we know you as a celebrity guy but you're a sports guy, too. you've got to be watching this cubs versus indians situation. this might turn around 2016. might actually have a fairly good year. there's a special fan in town. >> yes. the other night i ran into the millers at this sports bar. family. >> jj: my gosh. >> shawn: the former governor bob. >> secretary of state, rock, and their son, and that was cool. and the greg maddux is flying into chicago this week, going to interview him november 6th. and is flying to chicago this week to be a guest. so, we're looking forward to that. the other tidbit of news is that mariah carey has split with james packard. >> jj: no. >> yeah. >> jj: they haven't gotten married yet. >> shawn: does that mean she stays in vegas. >> that means she keepes the ring. >> great having you. da da da da da da [barking] november 6th. norm.vegas. check out his facebook payment check out his facebook payment and e-m we've learned a lot about how joe heck works. follow the money. he called nevada's foreclosure crisis a "blip" and took almost $700,000 from wall street, including some of the same banks who caused the crisis. and then there's money he's taken from payday lenders who charge 521% interest. heck co-sponsored legislation protecting their predatory practices. add it all up, and joe heck is working for corporate special interests. and that doesn't work for nevada. senate majority pac is responsible for the content >> catch it tonight and every week right after "inside edition" right here on 13. fun show. >> jj: and debra norville is hosting "inside edition." also today on "the view," john goodman, nathan lane talk about nathan lane, the classic. we can do a appropriate -- broadway show right here. >> shawn: join us on friday, >> announcer: grab your coffee and get comfy because "the view" is live. get ready, because raven has a huge announcement that's about to change "view" history. plus, lost in translation? whether both candidates are going too far trying to grab minority votes. >> we love the hindus. we love india. anto mad man, and a goodman tell the ladies how they're making "the front page" every night. the house of "hot topics" is in session with whoopi, candace cameron-bure, joy behar, raven-symone, and jedediah bila. now, let's get things started.
